Abstract

The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the effect of acculturation and wages on labor productivity in West Kalimantan. The panel data regression method (pooled data) was used as the analytical method in the quantitative research. Secondary data obtained from the central statistics agency (BPS) for the last 5 years, namely the period 2017-2021, was used in this study. The study's findings indicate that education has a positive and significant effect on labor productivity, whereas wage has no effect on labor productivity. The two independent variables then have a significant effect on labor productivity at the same time, with a coefficient of detemination of 10,57%.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out how effective Tongue Twister is in helping the first graders of Immanuel Bilingual Class Pontianak in the academic year of 2016-2017 learn to pronounce digraph sound ‘sh’ /∫/. There were 32 participants of this research. The data collecting method that the researcher used was qualitative data. As for the instruments used were spoken test (oral performance test). There were three phases that the researcher underwent to collect the data for the research. The first phase was the pre-test, which then was followed by the treatments, and then as the last phase post-test was given. The treatments were given in three consecutive days. Each treatment was given in 35-minute duration. From the data calculation and analysis, the mean score for the pre-test was 3.98 meanwhile the post-test was 7.85. Thus, the students’ pronunciation was improved by 3.87 points or 32.71%. Based on the result, it can be concluded that teaching pronunciation using Tongue Twister was well-accepted by the students and has significantly improved their pronunciation of digraph sound ‘sh’ /∫/. Hopefully this finding can be used as a reference when the intention of a research is to find the appropriate treatment to conduct in teaching pronunciation.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to find out the relationship between learning motivation and learning habits together to the learning outcomes of grade IV students of 17 Pontianak City Elementary School. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with a form of correlation study research. The population in this study was grade IV students of SDN 17 Pontianak. The samples in this study were determined using probabilty sampling techniques with random sampling type and selected grade IVC SDN 17 Pontianak Kota. The source of this research data is grade IVC students of SDN 17 Pontianak Kota and the average rapot document. The data is a poll score of learning motivation and learning habits and average rapot scores. The results showed 79.16% of students' learning motivation was in the good category, students' learning habits were 79.87% in the good category, and 83.96% of study results fell into the excellent category. The correlation between learning motivation and learning outcomes was 0.550 in the moderate category. The correlation between learning habits and learning outcomes of 0.521 fell into the moderate category. The correlation of learning motivation and learning habits was 0.458. The correlation between learning motivation and habits together with learning outcomes of 0.627 fell into the strong category. Keywords : Learning Motivation, Learning Habits, and Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This was aimed to describe, analyze, and interpret the analysis results of the icons, indexes, and symbols in Mahmud Mursalin's Syair Gulung Ketapang and is implementation into a learning material. The method applied in this study was descriptive in the form of qualitative research with a semiotic approach. Source of data in this study was Syair Gulung Ketapang by Mahmud Mursalin. Data gathered was icons, indexes, and symbols in the form of words, phrases, or sentences contained in Syair Gulung. Data was collected using documentary study technique with the researcher herself as a data collection tool. According to data analysis results, there were found 352 data from the three analyses. The research results can be implementes into Bahasa Indonesia instructions in schools about concluding the content of poetry at junior high school level or its equivalent in class VII, even semester, especially on Basic Competence (KD) 3.13 and 4.13 in curriculum 2013.

Hotma Simanjuntak, M.Hum., Ph.D. and TheSecond Supervisor is Agus Syahrani, S.Pd. M.M.S.Ling. The title of this research isThe Agentive Movement Verbs in Dayak Mali Language. The general problem in thisstudy was divided into four sub-problems, the first was an inventory of agentivemovement verbs in the Dayak Mali language, the second was the word form of theagentive movement verbs in the Dayak Mali language, the third was a description ofthe meaning of the agentive movement verbs in the Dayak Mali language, and thefourth was the implementation of the learning implementation plan in Senior HighSchool. This study aimed to make an inventory of the agentive movement verb data, todiscover the word form, to discover the lexical meaning of agentive movement verbs,to discover the grammatical meaning of agentive movement verbs, and to implementa lesson plan in Senior High School class XI 2013 curriculum odd semester. Thisresearch used the descriptive method with qualitative study. The source of data wasDayak Mali language spoken by the native speakers in Cowet Village, BalaiSubdistrict, Sanggau Regency, which was represented by three informants. Thetechniques of data collection were one-on-one interview, note-taking, recording, andhooking techniques. The research instruments were voice recorder, questionnaire,notebook, pen. This research discovered 33 agentive movement verbs in Dayak Malilanguage. The word form used in Dayak Mali language was a single word/monofermicwith 22 lexemes, polymofernic consisting of affixation with 2 lexemes, reduplicationwith 2 lexemes, phrases with 7 lexemes, and compounding not found in this study.Based on the agentive movement verbs meaning description, there were 22 lexemesfor the lexical meaning and there were 11 lexemes for the grammatical meaning.Keywords: Agentive Movement Verbs, Dayak Mali Language, Word Form.

Abstract

AbstractThe study aims to describe and analyze language errors in the procedural text students work at class XI MIPA of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak regarding spelling mistakes, misspellability, SAN word-writing errors. As for method used in this study, it is a descriptive method with a qualitative form of research. The data gathering technique in this study is the dukomen of a students written work, which is the procedural text with the database of the entire class XI MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak. The data analysis techniques in this study have three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and deduction drawing. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that, found a misapplication of spelliing number of 245 errors. The most common errors in spelling use are capital letters and coma punctuation errors. Subsequently found a choice of word has 54 errors with the most frequent errors of the word, it is the inconformity of the inconformity of the word. Then the last ineffective written is 34 errors with the fallacy of the use of word, of waste, of mischief, and of repetiton.Keywords: Errors, Language, Procedural Text.

Abstract

AbstractRegister is a variation of language that involves the language being used for certain fields or purposes. The reason the researcher chose the title of the study of the Palm Oil Farmer Register in Sumber Agung Village, Batu Ampar District, Kubu Raya Regency was to inventory the registers used by oil palm farmers in Sumber Agung Village. The general problem in this study is the form of registers, types of registers, and registers that experience changes in meaning. This research method is descriptive and the form of this research is qualitative research. Sources of data in this study were oil palm farmers in Sumber Agung Village and data collection techniques in this study were tapping and interview techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, there are 52 registers used by oil palm farmers in Sumber Agung Village. Of the 52 registers, 21 are closed registers and 31 are open registers. In addition, of the 52 registers found, there are several registers that have undergone a change in meaning caused by the environment, a combination of words, and associations. Suggestions for future researchers is that this study can be used as input to obtain optimal research results.Keywords: Register, Oil Palm Farmers

Abstract

This study aims to describe the style of comparative language; opposing language styles; linking language style; and the repetitive language style in the lyrics of the album Mengudara by Idgitaf. Language style is a variety of expressions of using language to obtain certain effects and has characteristics in conveying thoughts and feelings, both orally and in writing. Recently, the Indonesian music world has emerged many new musicians who are characterized by the lyrics they create and the way they deliver unique and impressive songs. One of the many Indonesian musicians who use word games in their lyrics is Brigitta Sriulina Beru Meliala or commonly known as Idgitaf. Idgitaf is a singer, songwriter, and content creator who started her career in 2020. This study uses a descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The data collection technique uses observation techniques and documentary studies. This research found several types of language styles in the lyrics of the song album Mengudara by Idgitaf. The types of language styles in this study are: First, comparative language styles: simile language styles, metaphorical language styles, personification language styles, and antithesis language styles. Second, the language style of opposition: Hyperbolic language style, litotes language style, and irony language style. Third, linkage language styles: erotic language styles, parallelism language styles, ellipsis language styles, and gradient language styles. Fourth, repetitive language styles: Assonance language styles, anaphoric language styles, and epistrophic language styles.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the technique of depicting characters in the novelBatu-Batu Lapar, Bimala, and Siul Gelombang by Rabindranath Tagore, as wellas plans for implementing learning in schools. The method in this study is adescriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The data sources of thisresearch are the novels Batu-Batu Lapar, Bimala, and Siul Gelombang byRabindranath Tagore and the data is in the form of quotations which are identifiedas having indications of character depiction techniques. The results show (1) theexpository technique used by Rabindranath Tagore in his three novels informs thecharacter's personality traits in the story based on attitudes and behavior, physicalcharacteristics, occupation, intelligence, life history, circumstances or problemsfaced, clothes used, and relationships with other characters, (2) the dramatictechnique used by Rabindranath Tagore in his three novels informs the personalitytraits of the characters in the story indirectly as in the drama, by not describingexplicitly, but through verbal, nonverbal activities, and events that occur, (3)Results research and novels in this study can be used as teaching materials forlearning literature on Indonesian language subjects at school.Keywords: Technique, Character Painting, Novel.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop learning media in the form of e-magazine based on FlipHTML5 website media on plant structure and function material for class VIII junior high school. This research is an RD (Research and Development) development research using the ADDIE development research model which consists of five stages of development, but in this study a small trial group test was carried out so that the development stages carried out were simplified into four main stages which included stages: Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observations and questionnaires. The results of the study in terms of the results of media validation by 5 validators obtained validity test results with an overall average media feasibility of 0.933 in the valid category. From the feasibility assessment based on validity, it can be concluded that e-magazine as a learning media is feasible to use in class VIII junior high school material on plant structure and function.
