Abstract

In 2022, the number of diarrhea cases increased to 958 sufferers, with the highest incidence occurring in Bulurejo village. Physically, the sources of clean water still exhibit discoloration and unpleasant odor. The latrine construction lacks a roof, and the walls are made of cloth. The construction of waste bins lacks covers, and the wastewater disposal facilities (SPAL) are open. This research aims to determine the correlation between basic sanitation and the prevalence of diarrhea using the Geographic Information System (GIS) method. The study is descriptive-analytical through observations and a GIS approach in the form of a map. From the observations, bivariate and univariate analyses were conducted using the chi-square test. The results show that basic household sanitation is related to the prevalence of diarrhea in Bulurejo. Clean water facilities, with a p-value of 0.014, indicate a significant relationship. Toilet facilities, with a p-value of 0.347, show no significant relationship. SPAL facilities, with a p-value of 0.009, indicate a significant relationship. Waste disposal facilities, with a p-value of 0.029, indicate a significant relationship. After analysis, the results were represented in the form of a map. The Geographic Information System (GIS) approach was utilized to develop more effective mapping strategies for the improvement of sanitation and diarrhea control in the area. These findings indicate the necessity for enhancing basic sanitation facilities and implementing programs at community health centers to reduce diarrhea cases in Bulurejo.

Abstract

Sleep is crucial for the body because it can improve the immune system and help teenagers concentrate at school. Meanwhile, each person's average sleep time is different. The standard sleep time for teenagers is 8 to 9 hours at night. The aspect that causes bedtime procrastination is self-restraint. Poor self-control can make a person's desire to sleep on time-inconsistent or unfulfilled. This research aims to analyze the relationship between TikTok and social media addiction among students at SMA. The population in this study was 83 and used random sampling techniques with questionnaire research instruments. The results of statistical tests using chi-square showed a significant value, namely p-value 0.007 > α 0.05, so there is a relationship between addiction to social media TikTok and bedtime procrastination in students at SMA X. It is hoped that this research can make students understand better the pros and cons of delaying bedtime. There needs to be increased health promotion counseling regarding the impact of excessive addiction to the social media TikTok, and schools and parents can set rules or limits on gadget use. In future researchers, it is expected that they can add related variables that influence addiction to social media TikTok and reduce bedtime procrastination (delayed sleep time).

Abstract

Anaemia is a prevalent nutritional issue that disproportionately affects teenage girls in Indonesia, particularly those residing in rural regions. A research study found that 23.4% of adolescent ladies suffer from anaemia. Furthermore, individuals residing in rural regions exhibit a heightened susceptibility to anaemia, which is twofold in comparison to their urban counterparts. This study employs a cross-sectional design. The questionnaire is designed to assess the participants' understanding of the elements that contribute to anaemia and their viewpoints on anaemia. It was handed out to a total of 242 participants from various schools in Gowa, South Sulawesi. Out of the students who have mostly good goals, 41.3% can correctly identify their menstrual cycle with a significant level of p=0.001. On the other hand, their understanding of their menstrual cycle is mostly limited. The student had pallor in their face, eyelids, lips, skin, nails, and palms over a prolonged period, as evidenced by the intention and behaviour variable with a p-value of less than 0.05. Nevertheless, the data also reveals a minimal incidence of students who continuously exhibit pallor during their menstrual cycle. In contrast, most pupils in the "never" category exhibit a pallid complexion. The current study's poor comprehension of adolescent anaemia highlights the need for further investigation by educational institutions and governmental authorities. This should include a research of the factors that drive adolescent girls to recognise the symptoms of anaemia.

Abstract

Stunting has the potential to slow brain development and increase the risk of chronic disease. Panekan District is an area with the highest prevalence of stunting in Magetan Regency. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding patterns on the incidence of stunting in children aged 1-5 years. This research is a cross-sectional analytic observational study. Samples were taken using proportional random sampling technique so that a total of 217 mothers with stunted children aged 1-5 years were obtained. Primary data collection used the Child Feeding Questionnaire and secondary data used the EPPGBM application. The results of the Chi-square test can be concluded that the significant value is 0.000 <0.05, the significant value of frequency is 0.027 <0.05, the significant value of the number of meals is 0.016 <0.05. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there is an influence on the pattern of feeding on the incidence of stunting, so it is recommended that parents use KIA’s books to increase knowledge and observe about the growth and development of their children and always apply the right feeding pattern for their children from birth to adulthood because nutritional intake is one of the important factors to create a healthy and quality life.

Abstract

Data from the Indonesian Toddler Nutrition Status Survey (SSGBI) in 2021, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still quite high, at 24.4%, which is equivalent to 5.33 million toddlers. This figure is still above the standard tolerated by WHO, which is below 20%. Therefore, efforts are needed to accelerate stunting reduction so that the prevalence of stunting in toddlers decreases to 19.4% by 2024. This research aims to develop a tool for measuring toddlers' height and weight to assess their nutritional status promptly, aiming to preemptively address any nutritional abnormalities and prevent exacerbation. Anthropometry serves as the primary method for assessing toddlers' nutritional status in this study. The tool's design incorporates the ESP32 as the main control unit, the HC-SR04 sensor for height measurements, and the HX711 module and loadcell sensor as weight sensors. Data from the sensor are transmitted from the ESP32 master to the ESP32 slave for processing, culminating in a nutritional status assessment. Notably, the tool boasts a minimal error rate of 0.18% for weight measurement with 99.82% accuracy and a 2.66% error rate for height measurement with 97.34% accuracy. Furthermore, the tool's integration with IoT technology offers additional advantages. It facilitates real-time data transmission and analysis, enabling healthcare professionals to promptly identify any nutritional issues in toddlers. This, in turn, allows for timely intervention and appropriate management strategies to prevent the development or exacerbation of stunting. Overall, the benefits of this research for the Anthropometry Stunting Monitor based on IoT are manifold. It enhances accuracy and efficiency in measuring toddlers' height and weight, enables early detection of stunting, and facilitates timely intervention to address nutritional abnormalities. This holds significant promise for improving pediatric healthcare outcomes and reducing the prevalence of stunting among children.

Abstract

Down syndrome it is also called trisomy 21 because it has three chromosomes on chromosome 21, whereas normal people only have two. This occurs because chromosome 21 cannot separate during the cell division process, resulting in individuals with 47 chromosomes. The physical and psychological limitations experienced by children with down syndrome cause a lower ability to maintain oral and dental health and result in a higher risk of dental caries compared to normal children. Several recent studies explain that the role of parents and teachers is needed to improve oral health maintenance in order to reduce the risk of dental caries in children with down syndrome. This research aims to determine the relationship between the role of parents and teachers in keeping oral health and dental caries in children with down syndrome in the North and East Surabaya areas. This type of research is a cross sectional analytical research with 37 down syndrome children, parents and teachers as respondents. The data collection instruments used were questionnaire sheets and DMF-T examination sheets. The technical data analysis uses the Spearman rank test and multiple regression. The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between the role of parents and teachers in maintaining oral health and dental caries in children with down syndrome. Conclusion: More active role of parents and teachers is needed in reducing the rate of dental caries in children with down syndrome.
