Abstract

Biodiversity in the form of plants is a nation's wealth that needs to be maintained and developed by the government and the people of Indonesia. However, to keep it, the community must be introduced to the wealth of plants around it so that it fosters an attitude of caring, belonging, and nurturing. Meanwhile, the government makes rules so that the richness of plant biodiversity is not destroyed, destroyed, or transferred to other countries. One effective way to introduce the richness of plant biodiversity is through formal education, in this case, lessons at school. Schools are expected to convey the message of the importance of plant biodiversity, its types, and how to maintain it in learning materials. All notes can be inserted at any level of education, from kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school to university. For materials in high school, some biology materials can be used to foster an attitude of maintaining biodiversity, one of which is plants' material world. For this reason, it is necessary to include plant material in learning so that students' love for plants becomes stronger around them, ultimately resulting in an attitude of caring for biodiversity.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of the TPACK framework by teachers in distance learning at junior high schools in Medan. Curriculum 2013 in Indonesia been applying for 5 years. However, an evaluation of how does the teacher deliver learning subjects (pedagogy knowledge), and the implementation of subject mastery (content knowledge) and technology mastery (technology knowledge) is strongly suggested. In this research also used a qualitative descriptive method by providing a google form questionnaire to 10 junior high school teachers in the city of Medan as samples drawn with simple random sampling. The data was obtained based on the answers to questions from 10 junior high school science teachers, where 7 teachers were public school educators and the other 3 teachers were educators in private schools from different schools. The process of collecting data through a questionnaire containing questions that must be filled in by the teacher about their agreement or disagreement with the questions given in the questionnaire (Likert scale). The questions made are invincible with TPACK aspect. Based on the instruments that have been developed, researchers have obtained that the teachers already know and apply TPACK in distance learning well through the understanding and abilities possessed by the junior high school science teachers in carrying out the learning process in the classroom, especially on the topic of temperature and heat.

Abstract

Smartphones are a physical learning medium that can support students to experiment with measurement devices. One of the smartphone apps that can be used is phyphox. The study aims to find out collision analysis lends several types of fall fields that include soil, ceramic floor areas and board fields so that it will generate data on the height, time, and energy generated when objects hit the surface. The method used is an experiment with a collision testing comparison approach with different drop fields using phyphox and stopwatch applications. The results of three experiments in the energy board field that apples produce are larger than ceramic and soil floor fields. While the results of experiments using stopwatches showed that the energy produced has a slightly greater value than using phyphox. Phyphox application can be used for practicum independently.

Abstract

The presence of arboreal insects in residential areas became indicator that the area is still overgrown with vegetation, whether flowering or not. The existence of vegetation in residential areas is referred to as Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH). The types of arboreal insects in Kelurahan Sungai Pinang Dalam Kota Samarinda  have never been reported. This study aims to determine the role of the diversity of arboreal insect species in residential areas in Kelurahan Sungai Pinang Kota Samarinda. The sampling method for arboreal insects is a direct collection method using a sweeping net with a residential transect method for a month, once every two days in the morning and evening. The steps carried out in this study were collecting samples of arboreal insects, identifying and analyzing data on the index values of diversity, richness, evenness and dominance. The results showed that 26 genera of arboreal insects were found which were classified into 18 families and 8 orders. The diversity index value (H') of arboreal insect species in the morning is 2.7601 and in the afternoon is 2.4901. The dominance index value (C) obtained in the morning is 0.0880 and in the afternoon is 0.1192. For the evenness value, obtained in the morning of 0.8471 and in the afternoon of 0.8056. For the value of the wealth index (R), which was obtained in the morning was 4.1373 and in the afternoon was 3.6711. Abstract

This research is based on the results of the evaluation of the last ten years related to the development of studies in the Mathematics Education Master Program, Tanjungpura University, through a partnership model to develop and implement national and international comparative studies on mathematics teacher education. The aims are to describe the methodology used in the national level study of teacher education through the Teacher Professional Education Program or Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG)- Teacher Education and Development of Studies in Mathematics and share key findings related to mathematics preparation for future teachers. The research applied a quantitative approach with cross-sectional survey method with students of the master program of mathematics education class of 2019/2022 and 2020/2021. The results of the study show that future teacher performance: (1) has less opportunity to learn than high achievers in geometry, functions, calculus, and groups with mastery of linear algebra, number theory, analytic geometry, introduction to probability, and statistics and (2) has less opportunity for those who study school mathematics in data representation, calculus compared to linear algebra, analytic geometry, introduction to calculus, calculus, probability, and statistics. Thus, it can be concluded that attention and emphasis are needed on the type and depth of learning materials given to future teachers who continue their studies at the master's level. This pattern represents an extension to better future secondary school teachers.

Abstract

One of the basic competencies in class VIII contains the Pythagorean theorem. Surveys on students who have studied it, they still remember that the proposition is related to a right triangle. Interviews with students who understand the theorem show that they have a formulation of the relationship between the length of the hypotenuse and the side of the right angle. In detail they do not understand why this relationship can occur. That's because they memorized the formula instead of understanding it. For this reason, using the ADDIE development model, through this research a Scientific Learning-Based learning module was developed. This module was developed with the aim of helping self-study students to find their understanding of the Pythagorean theorem. Before being distributed, this module is analyzed to determine the validity and practicality of the module. The results of the study indicate that the module is valid, in accordance with the material, language and also there are scientific learning steps. Then, this module is said to be practical because through observation and interviews, the propositional module has met the criteria for practice assessment including, self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, and user friendly.

Abstract

Herbal plants can be used as a treatment option, including the treatment of kidney disease. The administration of herbal remedies such as celery is a more natural and safe treatment healing alternative. The study aims to determine the effect of celery extract in repairing the damage to the kidney cells of aspirin-induced white mice. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 groups with 3 replications: K- (aspirin 12.6 mg/kg BW), K+ (feed normal), P1 (celery extract 200 mg/kg BW + aspirin 12.6 mg/kg BW), P2 (celery extract 100mg/kg BW + aspirin 12.6 mg/kg BW) and P3 (celery extract 50 mg/kg BW) + aspirin 12.6 mg/kg BW). From the results of observations on kidney histology of rats after giving aspirin, it is known that there is damage to the nucleus of cells undergoing pyknosis and swelling of the glomerulus, which is characterized by narrowing of the Bowman's space.  This suggests that the celery extract at a stratified dose may affect the histopathological kidney of aspirin-induced mice.
