Abstract

Transformational leadership has become one of the most influential leadership approaches in modern organizational management due to its ability to enhance employee motivation and productivity. This study employs a narrative literature review approach to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, employee motivation, and organizational productivity. The findings indicate that transformational leadership positively influences employee engagement, job satisfaction, creativity, and organizational commitment through inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, and idealized influence. Employees led by transformational leaders are more likely to demonstrate higher productivity, innovation, and collaborative behavior within the workplace. The study also reveals that effective communication and supportive organizational culture strengthen the impact of transformational leadership on employee performance. Furthermore, transformational leadership contributes to organizational adaptability and long-term sustainability in dynamic business environments. This study provides theoretical and practical insights for organizations seeking to improve employee performance through people-oriented leadership strategies and highlights the importance of leadership development in achieving organizational success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of global interest rates and their impact on the cost of capital. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes scientific literature published between 2020 and 2025, and integrates macroeconomic data from the Trading Economics database. The analysis shows that the global Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) has experienced a significant increase, from an average of 7.00% in 2020 to 8.00% in 2024, driven by increases in the risk-free interest rate and market risk premium. The findings of this study reveal asymmetric heterogeneity in impacts: interest rates in developed countries are more influenced by global and regional factors (above 50%), while in developing countries, domestic factors still dominate (77.9%), although vulnerability to fiscal spillovers from the United States remains high. In addition, high interest rates are found to hinder investment in strategic sectors, particularly capital-intensive renewable energy projects. This study concludes that companies need to adopt artificial intelligence (AI)-based financial management systems for real-time monitoring of capital costs and strengthening ESG performance to mitigate funding risks amid global market volatility.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of purchase intention in mediating the influence of social media, price perception, and service quality on purchasing decisions at CV Catering Nyonya Warti Buleleng. The research employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to 150 consumers of CV Catering Nyonya Warti Buleleng in Denpasar City using purposive sampling techniques. The variables examined in this study include social media, price perception, service quality, purchase intention, and purchasing decisions. The results reveal that service quality and price perception have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, while social media does not significantly affect purchase intention. Furthermore, purchase intention has a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. The mediation analysis indicates that purchase intention significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and purchasing decisions, as well as between price perception and purchasing decisions. However, purchase intention does not mediate the relationship between social media and purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that service quality and price perception are essential factors in increasing consumer purchase intention and purchasing decisions in the catering business sector. The study contributes to the development of consumer behavior theory and provides managerial implications for MSMEs in designing effective marketing strategies in the digital era.

Abstract

Fuel price increases in Indonesia have long prompted public responses because fuel prices directly affect transportation costs, household expenses, purchasing power, and perceptions of economic justice. This study aims to analyze changes in fuel consumer responses to fuel price increases in Indonesia from 2000 to 2026, particularly the shift from mass demonstrations to digital criticism. This research uses a qualitative descriptive-comparative approach by examining documents, media reports, protest records, and public digital traces. The analysis compares three periods: 2000–2010, 2011–2016, and 2017–2026. The findings indicate that public responses have shifted from collective physical actions, such as demonstrations by students, labor groups, and civil society, to more dispersed digital expressions via social media comments, hashtags, memes, short videos, and online opinions. This transformation does not indicate declining public dissatisfaction, but rather a shift in the space and form of consumer expression.

Abstract

This research analyses the influence of leadership style and work motivation on employee productivity in the Government of Batam City (Pemko Batam), considering the work environment as an intervening variable. The methodology used is a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative methods. For the qualitative approach, in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies related to the research object were conducted. Meanwhile, for the quantitative approach, a survey was conducted with 250 employees within Pemko Batam, with data collected through questionnaires distributed using purposive sampling. The results show that both qualitative and quantitative approaches have the same correlational results: leadership style significantly affects employee productivity, work motivation has a positive relationship with employee productivity, and the work environment proves to serve as an intervening variable that influences the relationship between leadership style and work motivation with employee productivity in the Government of Batam City.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research was conducted in [name of school] involving two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received instruction through the PBL model, while the control class was taught through conventional learning. Data were collected through critical thinking tests and learning outcome tests administered in the form of pretest and posttest, supported by observation and documentation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, independent sample t-test, N-gain analysis, and effect size analysis. The findings indicated that students in the experimental class experienced a more substantial improvement than those in the control class. PBL encourages students to actively engage in identifying problems, discussing ideas, analyzing information, and formulating solutions based on real contexts. These processes contributed to the development of critical thinking and deeper conceptual understanding. Therefore, Problem Based Learning can be considered an effective instructional alternative to enhance students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, particularly through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the quality of learning. One example of this application is ChatGPT, an AI platform capable of providing instant feedback in text-based interactions. Technology integration is considered to have significant potential in stimulating students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the impact of ChatGPT use on improving students' critical thinking skills in learning activities. This study used a literature review method by reviewing various literature relevant to the research. The results showed that the use of ChatGPT optimizes the speed of information acquisition. However, in reality, ChatGPT answers tend to be correct, so students believe them implicitly without critical review. This decline in cognitive engagement cumulatively results in a decline in critical thinking skills due to technology dependence. Therefore, the use of ChatGPT in learning needs to be wisely directed by educators so that it can become an effective supporting tool in improving students' critical thinking skills. The appropriate integration of AI technology in learning is expected to encourage the creation of a learning process oriented towards the development of critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed the role of human resource management (HRM) from a primarily administrative function to a strategic driver of organizational success. This study examines how strategic human resource management (SHRM) practices align talent with organizational goals in digital contexts. Using a narrative review methodology, relevant literature on SHRM, digital transformation, and talent alignment was analyzed to identify key trends, challenges, and best practices. Findings indicate that the adoption of digital tools, including artificial intelligence, HR analytics, and digital learning platforms, enables organizations to optimize recruitment, performance management, and workforce planning. These tools facilitate data-driven decision-making, enhance employee engagement, and improve alignment between individual competencies and strategic objectives. However, challenges such as resistance to change, skill gaps, and fragmented HR systems remain significant barriers to effective implementation. The study highlights that organizations integrating digital technologies with SHRM frameworks achieve higher productivity, better talent utilization, and stronger competitive advantage. Implications for HR managers include investing in digital solutions, strategic workforce planning, and continuous feedback systems to enhance talent alignment. The review contributes to both theory and practice by illustrating how SHRM in digital environments can serve as a strategic enabler of organizational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of human resource (HR) capacity on the quality of community-based tourism (CBT) village management in Sragen Regency, Indonesia. The background of this research is based on the important role of human resources in supporting successful village tourism management, particularly in addressing the transition from an agriculture-based economy to a more professional and sustainable tourism sector. Although the CBT concept emphasizes community participation, the quality of village tourism management still faces challenges related to limited local human resource capacity. This research employs a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 195 respondents consisting of village tourism managers, village officials, and local communities in Sragen Regency, selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS version 4 to examine the relationships between the research variables. The results indicate that human resource capacity has a positive and significant effect on the quality of CBT village tourism management. This finding suggests that improvements in knowledge, skills, experience, and managerial capabilities of local communities play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of tourism village management. Furthermore, human resource capacity is proven to be a key determinant in supporting participatory, professional, and sustainable village tourism management. This study implies that strengthening human resource capacity through education, training, and community empowerment should be prioritized in the development of village tourism. Therefore, the findings are expected to serve as a reference for local governments and tourism managers in formulating more effective and sustainable community-based tourism development strategies.
