Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of consumption, investment, government spending, and poverty on economic growth during the 2014 Q1–2024 Q4 period. The study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data in the form of time series obtained from official sources. The collected data were tested using multiple linear regression, and supported by descriptive statistical tests, stationarity tests, correlation tests, and autocorrelation tests. The results show that consumption, investment, and government spending have a positive but insignificant influence on economic growth. Conversely, poverty has a negative but significant influence on economic growth. Simultaneously, all independent variables do not have a significant effect on economic growth. The relatively low coefficient of determination value indicates that there are still other factors outside the model that influence economic growth. This finding emphasizes the importance of poverty reduction in driving increased economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy on investment decisions among young professionals in Samarinda City, as well as to examine the mediating roles of risk perception and financial technology in that relationship. The research design employs an explanatory research method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected from respondents who are young professionals aged twenty to thirty-four years, have a stable income, and have previously or are currently engaged in active investment activities, using a purposive sampling technique based on strictly established criteria. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling through the SmartPLS application. The findings reveal that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, meaning that the higher the level of financial literacy of a young professional, the better the quality of investment decisions made. Financial literacy also proved to have a positive and significant effect on risk perception, indicating that individuals with adequate financial understanding are able to assess investment risks more accurately and objectively. Furthermore, financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on the adoption and utilization of financial technology. Risk perception and financial technology were each proven to have a positive and significant effect on investment decisions. Moreover, the mediation test results show that risk perception is able to mediate the effect of financial literacy on investment decisions positively and significantly. Likewise, financial technology proved to serve as a significant mediator in the relationship between financial literacy and investment decisions. This research model demonstrates a very strong predictive capability toward variation in investment decisions. These findings imply the importance of improving financial literacy as a foundation for rational investment decision-making, particularly among young professionals in developing regions of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the experiences of internal auditors in maintaining independence in audit conflict of interest situations. The study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the experiences of internal auditors when facing independence threats in the audit process. The research informants consisted of two internal auditors: an auditor who audited a colleague suspected of fraud and an auditor who faced audit pressure due to power relations within the organization. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Moustakas' phenomenological approach. The results show that auditor independence is not only interpreted as compliance with professional standards, but also as a moral responsibility and professional identity of the auditor. Threats to independence arise through relational closeness, social pressure, and power relations that give rise to internal conflicts in the audit process. Auditors strive to maintain objectivity through self-control, limiting personal interactions, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. This study shows that auditor independence is a complex experience that simultaneously involves professional, emotional, social, and moral dimensions.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on critical thinking skills and academic achievement of Air Force Academy cadets in solution chemistry learning. The study employed a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group design. The participants consisted of two classes, namely an experimental class taught using the PBL model and a control class taught using conventional learning. Data were collected using critical thinking questionnaires and chemistry achievement tests that have been validated and tested for reliability. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, MANOVA, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the implementation of PBL had a significant simultaneous effect on critical thinking skills and academic achievement, as indicated by the multivariate test with p < 0.05. The univariate analysis also revealed significant differences between the experimental and control groups in critical thinking skills (p = 0.015) and academic achievement (p = 0.002). Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis indicated that the experimental class achieved higher improvement (0.2455) than the control class (0.1337), although both remained in the low category. These findings indicate that Problem-Based Learning contributes positively to improving cadets' critical thinking skills and academic achievement through active investigation, discussion, and contextual problem-solving activities. This study highlights the relevance of PBL implementation in military education, particularly in chemistry learning that requires conceptual understanding and analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Work productivity is one of the important factors in determining the operational success of oil palm plantation companies, especially in the harvesting section. This study aims to analyze: (1) the effect of work motivation on work productivity; (2) the effect of work ability on work productivity; and (3) the effect of work motivation and work ability simultaneously on the work productivity of harvesters at PTPN IV Regional I Adolina Plantation Afdeling II. This study uses an explanatory research method with a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 48 oil palm harvesters selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive analysis, validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination (R²) with the help of SPSS version 23. The results of the study indicate that work motivation and work ability simultaneously have a significant effect on work productivity. Partially, work motivation does not have a significant effect on work productivity, while work ability has a positive and significant effect on work productivity. Therefore, the company needs to improve the work ability of harvesters through technical training, job coaching, and periodic evaluations to increase harvester work productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in the formulation of the Annual Work Plan (RKT) at the Housing and Settlement Department of Kutai Kartanegara Regency and to identify factors hindering its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach involving eight informants. The findings show that the implementation of TQM principles, including customer focus, continuous improvement, and teamwork, contributed to improving planning quality and program execution. Customer focus ensured that the RKT was prepared based on community needs, while continuous improvement encouraged regular evaluation and enhancement of planning processes. Teamwork among departments strengthened coordination and supported more effective work plan preparation. However, several obstacles were identified, including inaccurate data, limited resources, and weak interdepartmental coordination, which reduced planning effectiveness and hindered program implementation. Therefore, improving data accuracy, strengthening coordination, and providing adequate resources are necessary to support more effective and efficient implementation of work programs.

Abstract

Civics education faces threats from globalization and moral decadence. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Civics as a democratic education at SDN 091482 Kasindir and its contribution to the formation of students' nationalist attitudes. Using a qualitative approach with a single case study design, data were collected through a literature review, participant observation (12 Civics meetings in grades 4, 5, and 6), and interviews with 3 teachers, the principal, and 15 students. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The results show that the implementation of Civics as a democratic education is realized through three main practices: deliberative discussions on national issues, simulations of joint decision-making, and collaborative projects of patriotism. The nationalist attitudes formed include pride as Indonesian citizens, a willingness to prioritize common interests, participation in simple national defense activities: ceremonies, mutual cooperation, and respect for national symbols. The main obstacles are limited time and teachers' understanding. This study contributes to the development of a nationalism-based democratic education model in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of inflation and exchange rates on the money supply in Indonesia and to identify the short-term and long-term relationships among these variables. A country’s economic stability is inextricably linked to the dynamics of inflation, exchange rates, and the money supply, which are interrelated within the economic system. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2020-2024. The analysis method used is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, as it is capable of estimating both short-term and long-term relationships simultaneously within a single model. The results indicate a long-term relationship among inflation, exchange rates, and the money supply. Partially, the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on the money supply in Indonesia. This suggests that changes in the exchange rate particularly when the rupiah depreciates can drive increased liquidity in the economy through monetary policy mechanisms and international trade activities. Meanwhile, inflation does not have a significant effect on the money supply in the short term. This indicates that changes in inflation during the study period did not directly influence money supply policy due to the inflation control policies implemented by Bank Indonesia. Thus, exchange rate stability is a critical factor that must be considered in maintaining monetary equilibrium and national economic stability. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social media on purchasing decisions for running outfits, with Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) as a mediating variable, among running community members in Sangatta, East Kutai Regency. The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed consumer behavior, particularly through intensive use of social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, which serve as primary channels for product information and marketing promotion. In the context of running sports, social media not only shapes consumer preferences but also triggers the psychological phenomenon of FOMO the anxiety of being left behind in terms of trends and community experiences which may further drive purchasing behavior. This research employs a quantitative approach with purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to one hundred and thirty active running outfit consumers aged eighteen to thirty-five years residing in Sangatta. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software, grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) theoretical framework. The results confirm all four hypotheses. Social media has a positive and significant direct effect on purchasing decisions. Social media also positively and significantly influences the level of FOMO experienced by consumers. FOMO, in turn, has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions and emerges as the most dominant predictor in the model. Finally, FOMO significantly mediates the relationship between social media and purchasing decisions, indicating that social media influences purchasing behavior not only directly but also through the psychological mechanism of FOMO. These findings contribute to the digital marketing literature in developing regions of Eastern Indonesia and provide practical insights for sportswear businesses in leveraging social media content strategies effectively.

This study aims to analyze the influence of service digitalization and technology competence on employee performance and to examine the mediating role of employee adaptability at Bank BRI Samarinda Gajah Mada Branch. This research employed a quantitative explanatory design. The research population consisted of all 149 employees at Bank BRI Samarinda Gajah Mada Branch; therefore, a census or saturated sampling technique was applied. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that service digitalization has a positive and significant effect on employee adaptability and employee performance. Technology competence also has a positive and significant effect on employee adaptability and employee performance. Furthermore, employee adaptability positively and significantly affects employee performance and partially mediates the effect of service digitalization and technology competence on employee performance. These findings confirm that successful banking digital transformation depends not only on technological infrastructure, but also on employees' readiness to adapt to changing work processes. This study recommends strengthening technology training, change-management support, and an adaptive work culture to ensure that service digitalization translates into sustainable performance improvement.
