Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and hedonic orientation on the purchasing decisions of viral products among college students. The main issue raised is how the psychosocial dynamics of college students in the digital era affect impulsive consumption patterns, especially when exposed to viral trends on social media. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach with a questionnaire survey method supported by literature studies. The research sample consists of active social media students who have purchased viral products. The results of the study show that both FOMO and hedonic orientation have a significant simultaneous influence on purchasing decisions of viral products, with hedonic orientation having a greater influence than FOMO. This finding is different from several previous studies that highlight the dominance of FOMO. This study confirms that college students' consumption motivation is more influenced by the search for pleasure and emotional satisfaction than simply anxiety about being left behind. The implication of these results is the need for a digital marketing strategy that emphasizes the emotional experience aspect, as well as the development of rational consumption literacy for the younger generation amidst the ever-growing flow of viral trends.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital economy growth, macroeconomic factors, and stock liquidity on the stock prices of Indonesia’s technology sector during the period of January 2021 to December 2024. Employing a quantitative approach, this research utilizes the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method processed through the SmartPLS software. The study relies on secondary monthly data, including digital indicators such as private funding value and internet user growth, macroeconomic indicators such as interest rates and exchange rates, and liquidity indicators such as trading volume and frequency. The results indicate that digital economy growth has a positive and significant effect on technology sector stock prices, while macroeconomic factors show a negative and significant impact. Meanwhile, stock liquidity does not exhibit a significant effect. These findings offer new insights into the dynamics of technology stocks in Indonesia, which do not always align with digital development, and highlight the critical role of macroeconomic conditions in investment decision-making. This research is expected to contribute to the development of digital financial strategies in the national context. Keywords: Digital Economy, Macroeconomics, SEM-PLS, Stock Liquidity, Stock Price

Abstract

Indonesia exports more mangosteen than any other fruit. Five countries are its export destinations, including the United Arab Emirates. According to data from UN Comtrade, the export volume of Indonesian mangosteen fluctuated from 2019 to 2023. According to experts and previous studies, this fluctuation is due to several factors. Therefore, this quantitative study will analyze the influence of the United Arab Emirates' gross domestic product (GDP), the domestic price of Indonesian mangosteen, and the dollar-to-rupiah exchange rate on Indonesia's mangosteen exports to the United Arab Emirates from 2003 to 2023. Additionally, we aims to analyze whether gross domestic product, Indonesian domestic mangosteen prices, and the dollar-to-rupiah exchange rate jointly influenced Indonesian mangosteen imports to the United Arab Emirates during the same period. The research location was deliberately chosen in Indonesia, and secondary sources were used to collect time series data from 2003 to 2023. Quantitative data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 and quantitative methods. The study's findings suggest that the United Arab Emirates' gross domestic product, the domestic price of Indonesian mangoes, and the dollar-to-rupiah exchange rates at the same time affect to quantity of mangosteen exported to the United Arab Emirates. Based on a partial test, the United Arab Emirates' gross domestic product had a significantly positive effect on Indonesian mangosteen exports to the United Arab Emirates, with a regression coefficient of 3.398E-6. This indicates that if the United Arab Emirates' gross domestic product increases one US dollar, Indonesian mangosteen exports to the United Arab Emirates will increase to 3.398E-6 kilograms. The domestic price of Indonesian mangosteen had a significantly negative effect on the volume of exports, with a regression coefficient of -398. This indicates that if the domestic price of mangosteen in the UAE increases by Rp 1,000/kg, exports to the UAE decrease by 398,755 kg.The dollar-to-rupiah exchange rate also negatively affects the Indonesian mangosteen export volume to the United Arab Emirates. With a regression coefficient of -95.267, an increase in the dollar exchange rate of 1 US$/Rp results in decline has been observed in the export volume of Indonesian mangosteen. to the United Arab Emirates of 95.267 kg.

Abstract

This study aims to examine whether attitude toward counterfeit goods mediates the relationship between novelty seeking, integrity, status consumption, and purchase intention for luxury counterfeit products. The study employs primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 161 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis method used in this study is SEM-PLS with the help of WrapPLS 8.0 software. To assess data validity, the researchers employed convergent validity, discriminant validity, average variance extracted (AVE), reliability tests, goodness of fit, coefficient of determination (R2), Q-square coefficient, and effect size. The findings reveal that novelty seeking and status consumption significantly influence purchase intention for luxury counterfeit products, while integrity does not. The mediation analysis shows that attitude toward counterfeit goods mediates the influence of integrity and status consumption on purchase intention for luxury counterfeit products. However, the mediation analysis for novelty seeking does not yield significant results.

The results indicate that, partially, OHS and Workload do not have a significant effect on Employee Performance, with significance values of 0.356 and 0.389, respectively. However, the Physical Work Environment variable has a significant effect on Employee Performance, with a significance value of 0.012. Simultaneously, the three variables (OHS, Workload, and Physical Work Environment) have a significant influence on Employee Performance, with an F-value of 3.403 and a significance level of 0.022. The adjusted R² value of 0.090 indicates that 9% of the variation in Employee Performance can be explained by these three variables. These findings highlight the importance of managing the physical work environment effectively to improve performance, although attention to OHS and workload remains essential as part of a comprehensive human resource management strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of lifestyle and occupation on the perception of quality and its impact on consumer purchasing decisions at the Pearly Store in Tebing Tinggi City. In an era of increasingly tight retail competition, understanding the psychological and social factors of consumers is important for business actors. The results of the study indicate that lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on the perception of quality and purchasing decisions. Occupation has a significant effect on the perception of quality, but does not have a direct effect on purchasing decisions. Perception of quality is proven to have a significant effect on purchasing decisions, and acts as an intervening variable that mediates the relationship between occupation and lifestyle on purchasing decisions. These findings provide important implications for marketing strategies, especially in designing messages and products that are in accordance with the lifestyle and occupational background of the target market.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of istishlah (seeking public interest) as a method used by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in formulating fatwas (Islamic legal rulings) to address contemporary issues. Focusing on MUI's fatwa regarding Sharia-compliant products from the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS Kesehatan Syariah), the research examines the position of istishlah within Islamic law, the criteria established by MUI for Sharia Health Social Security Agency (BPJS) products, and how the sharia label affects people's medical treatment preferences. The study employs library research and interviews with MUI Fatwa Commission members to analyze the application of istishlah in addressing the complexities of social security within an Islamic framework, aiming to promote public welfare in accordance with Sharia principles.
