Journal of Public Health Education (JPHE) is aimed at all public health practitioners and researchers and those who manage and deliver public health services and systems. It publishes original papers, reviews and short reports on all aspects of the science, philosophy, and practice of public health. It will also be of interest to anyone involved in provision of public health programmes, the care of populations or communities and those who contribute to public health systems in any way. Published four times a year, JPHE considers submissions on any aspect of public health across age groups and settings. Abstract

Introduction: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is all health behavior that is obtained from the learning process and is practiced based on a person's self-awareness so that individuals, families, groups, and communities can help themselves independently in the health sector and play an active role in achieving improvements in public health. PHBS has 10 indicators, namely, giving birth assisted by health workers, giving exclusive breast milk, weighing toddlers every month, using clean water, washing hands using clean water and soap, using healthy latrines, eradicating larvae at home once a week, eating fruit and vegetables every day, do physical activity every day, and don't smoke at home. Objective: To find out the picture of teenagers’ PHBS in Depok City Methods: This research uses a descriptive quantitative research design to create descriptions, descriptions in a systematic, factual, and accurate manner. The subjects of this research were teenagers in the Depok City area with a total of 780 respondents. Data collection was carried out online, through questionnaire observation (Google form) data was processed and analyzed using Microsoft Word. Results: Based on the behavior of using clean water, 780 (100%) respondents always use clean running water after activities. Based on the behavior of washing hands with soap from 780 respondents which were always 659 (84%), based on the behavior of using healthy latrines from 780 respondents used healthy latrines which was 734 (95%), based on the behavior of eradicating mosquito larvae from 780 respondents which was always 328 ( 42%), based on the behavior of consuming fruit and vegetables from 780 respondents which is always 313 (40%), based on the behavior of doing physical activity every day from 780 respondents which is always 332 (42.5%), based on the smoking behavior of 780 respondents who always as many as 23 (3%), based on the alcohol consumption behavior of 780 respondents which is always as many as 265 (34%). Conclusion: This analysis shows that community behavior in implementing PHBS is good.

Abstract

Introduction: This research focuses on preventing the transmission of COVID-19 to pregnant women or mothers giving birth at BPM (Independent Practicing Midwives). It is known that pregnant women or women giving birth are among those who are very vulnerable to being exposed to COVID-19. Objective: This research aims to find out what factors influence services, what factors must be implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, and what factors have been carried out by BPM (Independent Practicing Midwives) in complying with the health protocols provided by the government. Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research, namely research carried out to describe a phenomenon. The data collection method presented in numerical form is secondary data collection (Simpenan Health Center Data) and primary data was collected using questionnaires from June to July 2021. Results: The research results show that the BPM (Independent Practicing Midwives) in the Simpenan District Health Center Work Area has carried out/implemented the protocol very well. However, it was also found that 16 (6.37%) pregnant women or women in labor were exposed to the COVID-19 virus out of a total of 521 pregnant women/mothers in labor. Conclusion: Pregnant women in the Simpenan sub-district area already understand how to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 to pregnant women. We also see that the BPM or Community Health Centers in the Simpenan sub-district area have implemented very good Health Protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Abstract

Background: Oral and dental health is important in the life of every individual, including children, because damaged and untreated teeth will cause pain, and mastication disorders and can interfere with other body health. One of the most common dental health problems in children is dental caries. Dental disease is a very disturbing problem in school children because it not only causes pain but also transmits infections to other parts of the body, resulting in decreased productivity. This condition will certainly reduce the frequency of children's attendance at school, interfere with learning concentration, and affect appetite and food intake so that it can affect nutritional status. Objectives: To find out how the students of TPA Miftahul Jannah, Kota Depok in 2021 know about dental and oral health, determine priority issues and carry out effective health promotion. Method: This research is a study to find out the problem points in dental and oral health and carry out appropriate health promotion. The population in this study were TPA Miftahul Jannah students, Depok City in 2021 with a sampling technique, namely a total sampling of 30 respondents. The data collection used is the researcher's interview with the interview question sheet to the respondents. Determination of priority problems using the Criteria Matrix Technique. Results: Results Based on research from 30 respondents from Miftahul Jannah TPA students in Depok-West Java, as many as 16 respondents (53.3%) had never checked their teeth every 6 months for the last 1 month. This is due to a lack of knowledge about the importance of maintaining dental and oral health. Conclusion: It was concluded that the priority problem point was never having a dental check-up every 6 months related to oral health maintenance. So the health promotion that the researchers did was the use of powerpoint slides and videos to effectively increase respondents' knowledge, which was marked by increased motivation and behavior to maintain dental hygiene.

Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the endemic diseases in Indonesia and several countries. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted through mosquito bites from the Aedes genus, especially Aedes Aegypti. Objectives: DHF prevention efforts must be carried out now. What is held by the government is PSN (mosquito nest eradication) which is carried out by 3M plus (draining, closing, and utilizing and recycling used goods). Method: This study uses a descriptive research method that aims to analyze the prevention of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Sukmajaya District. Result: The results of the problem identification obtained are the lack of 3M behavior, the habit of hanging clothes in the house, and the lack of behavior in cleaning puddles, such as in dispensers, and water reservoirs behind the refrigerator, bird drinking places, and others. Conclusion: The priority of problem-solving is to provide an active method of activity by conducting public health facilitation activities as an effort to increase public awareness of the prevention behavior of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) through 3M.

Abstract

Introduction: DKI Jakarta Province still ranks first for the highest number of Covid-19 cases, namely 73,736 cases (25.7%). RSUD X Jakarta is one of the Covid-19 referral hospitals. With the continued high number of Covid-19 cases, health workers on the front line are vulnerable to experiencing conditions of stress and anxiety. Objectives: This research aims to determine the influence of workload, comorbidities, availability of PPE, resilience, and community stigma on the anxiety level of health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This is quantitative research using analytical descriptive methods with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling process was carried out using proportional random sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria with 140 samples. The questionnaire uses a Semantic differential scale. Anxiety was measured using the Indonesian version of the GAD-7 (Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7) questionnaire. Research design using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) via PLS (Partial Least Square). Results: The anxiety level of health workers is influenced by public stigma by 14.74%, workload by 0.58%, availability of PPE by 2.86%, comorbidities by 0.78%, and resilience by 0.11%. The model was able to explain 65.6% of data variability, while 34.4% was explained by other variables not studied in this study. Conclusion: There are direct and indirect influences as well as the magnitude of workload, comorbidities, availability of PPE, resilience, and community stigma on the level of anxiety of health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic at the X Jakarta Regional General Hospital in 2021.

Abstract

Introduction: Hospital management requires fast and accurate data management to create quality services. As a result, an assessment is required, particularly utilizing the HOT-Fit method, which was established with knowledge and regulation in mind, to assess the information system in this study. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the influence of humans, organizations, technology, knowledge, and regulation on benefits either simultaneously or partially. Method: This study uses quantitative research methods with the type of research that is causality explanatory. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Respondents in this study were the respondents of RSPI Prof. Dr. Sulianti Saroso who operates SIMRS directly with as many as 154 employees. Result: The results of this study showed that there is a significant influence from Humans, Organizations, Technology, Knowledge, and Regulations that affect the benefits of 80.9%. Human, Organization, Technology, Knowledge, and Regulation partially affect the benefit, with the provisions of the regulation being the variable that has the highest influence on the benefit. Conclusion: Regulation is the most dominant variable affecting the benefits of using SIMRS. Follow-up in this case, especially regulations is that the hospital is expected not to replace the developer and use a qualified developer who understands all business processes in the hospital. For further researchers, it can analyze the influence of other variables on benefits and analyze how the influence of knowledge and regulation variables if they become mediating variables.

Abstract

Background: The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) predicts an increase in the number of diabetes patients in Indonesia from 9.1 million in 2014 to 14.1 million in 2035. Based on various epidemiological studies, type 2 diabetes mellitus constitutes more than 90% of the entire diabetic population. There are two risk factors that can lead to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: genetic factors and behavioral factors (physical activity, healthy eating patterns, smoking behavior, alcohol consumption, and regular health check-ups). Objective: To understand the prevention behavior and risk of Type 2 diabetes mellitus incidents in the productive age group in the Bogor regency in 2021. Method: This research was conducted from January 3rd to February 3rd, 2022, using a quantitative method. The research took place in Bogor Regency, West Java. The population in this study was the entire community of Bogor Regency, with a sample size of 447 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire distributed online through Google Forms. Results: The research indicates that 8.1% have a genetic risk of diabetes mellitus, the influencing factor in smoking remains high at 76%, and the low number of people undergoing regular health check-ups is only 14.7%. Prevention efforts are made by educating on the importance of early prevention of diabetes mellitus by starting to adopt a healthier lifestyle, implementing the "Gerakan Masyarakat Sehat" (Healthy Community Movement) behavior to avoid the risk of diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: There are two risk factors causing diabetes mellitus in the Bogor regency: genetic factors and GERMAS behavior (physical activity, healthy eating patterns, smoking behavior, alcohol consumption, and regular health check-ups).

Abstract

Background: Approximately 321,000 cases are due to work accidents and about 2.02 million are due to work-related diseases. In Indonesia, there is an average of 99,000 cases of work accidents per year. Out of this total, about 70 percent result in fatal consequences such as death and lifelong disabilities. In Indonesia, the number of work accidents is quite concerning. According to data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, in 2018, there were 114,148 workplace accidents, while in 2019, there were 77,295 cases. However, it increased to 153,044 cases in 2020. Objective: To determine the relationship between attitude, occupational health and safety (K3) policies, and supervision on compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at PT. SKF Indonesia in 2021. Method: This research is a quantitative cross-sectional study. The study population consists of all production workers involved in bearing production at PT SKF in 2021, totaling 196 people. The researchers used purposive sampling techniques, resulting in a sample size of 131 people. The research instrument for data collection was a questionnaire to gather respondent information. Bivariate data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. Results: Based on the Chi-Square statistical test, the research results indicate that the attitude (p-value = 0.000 ≤ 0.05); OR (95% CI = 5.413), K3 policies (p-value = 0.000 ≤ 0.05); OR (95% CI = 4.237), and supervision (p-value = 0.000 ≤ 0.05); OR (95% CI = 4.843) all show significant relationships. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between attitude, K3 policies, and supervision with compliance in the use of PPE among construction workers at PT. SKF Indonesia in 2021.

Abstract

Background: Based on research conducted on students at Indonesi Maju University, many students experience poor sleep quality, marked by frequent waking up in the middle of the night, inability to fall asleep within 30 minutes of lying down, and difficulty returning to sleep after waking up. Poor sleep disturbances can lead to various health hazards such as insomnia, hypersomnia, parasomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, sleepwalking, sleep apnea, delayed sleep phase disorder, somnambulism, snoring, and nightmares. This research is important and can serve as a reference to improve physical activity and sleep quality among students with poor sleep quality. Objective: To determine the relationship between physical activity and sleep quality among students. Method: This research used a cross-sectional study design, with a population of 177 fifth-semester undergraduate students at Indonesia Maju University, and a sample of 118 students selected using the Slovin formula. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the Spearman's Rank Test. The instruments used were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) to measure physical activity and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to measure sleep quality. Results: The results of this study show a relationship between physical activity and sleep quality, with a p-value of 0.001 < α 0.005. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a relationship between physical activity and sleep quality among adolescents. The majority of students at Indonesia Maju University have poor sleep quality and are not physically active. Therefore, with this research, students can be motivated to improve their physical activity and, consequently, their sleep quality.

Abstract

Introduction: A woman who can not give birth to a child, then her social status is considered inferior if there are no adjustments and good handling, which can put pressure resulting in their impaired psychology and even physical fitness. The right coping mechanism is necessary to overcome a problem caused by infertility Objectives: The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the direct and indirect role of health workers, support husbands, motivation, self-concept, and the welfare of the physical coping in women with infertility in hospital mother and child WEMPE Singkawang City in 2018. Method: This type of research is quantitative using the descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all infertile women who were examined from May to December at the WEMPE Mother and Child Hospital Singkawang City with a total of 114 people. The number of samples was taken following the number of samples in the PLS (Partial Least Squares) guidelines a multiple of the number of indicators to be studied. Data analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) approach using smart PLS software. Result: The research results show that the coping mechanism in women with infertility is influenced by the role of a trained health professional (12,92%), support of husbands (13,14%), motivation (20,48%), self-concept (19.75%) and the welfare of physical (29,07%). The direct effect of women’s coping mechanism for infertility is 95.4 % and as much as 1,86 % is an indirect effect. Relevance predictive value ( Q Square ) is 99,9 % while 0,01 % is described by other variables that were not investigated. Conclusion: Thus it can be concluded that the health of physical mechanisms for fear of a massive coping. With the condition of good health, women infertile will find it easy to cope with overcoming the problem generated by infertility.
