Abstract

Background: One of the causes of diabetes mellitus is the community's non-compliance with regular health check-ups. Objective: To understand the compliance of the community in undergoing regular health check-ups to prevent type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Sukmajaya Community Health Center Unit (UPTD Puskesmas) in Depok City in 2022. Method: This research employs a descriptive analytic method with the population being the entire community in the Sukmajaya Community Health Center Unit area, Depok City, and a sample of 20 respondents. The research instrument used includes direct observation through interviews and the collection of secondary data from the monthly reports of the Sukmajaya Community Health Center Unit, the Health Profile of Depok City, and several journals from previous research. Data analysis is descriptive using the Criteria Matrix Technique. Results: Based on Sukmajaya Community Health Center Unit data for January-February, it was found that out of 701 patients who did not undergo regular health check-ups, 175 of them suffered from diabetes mellitus. Meanwhile, the research results show that 15 out of 20 respondents admitted to not regularly undergoing health check-ups. Conclusion: Factors contributing to non-compliance with health check-ups in the community are knowledge, perception, and economic factors, with knowledge being the dominant factor. Efforts that can be made include increasing public knowledge about the importance of regular health check-ups through health promotion based on digital media. Digital media in the form of a website can be an effective means to enhance public knowledge of health check-ups because it is easily accessible to anyone, anywhere.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by high blood pressure. This elevation forces the heart to work harder than usual to pump blood through the blood vessels. According to World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2015, around 972 million people or 26.4% suffer from hypertension, and this figure is estimated to increase to 29.2% by 2025. Objective: To analyze the risk of hypertension incidence in the productive age group in the working area of Pancoran Mas Health Center, Depok. Method: This research used a quantitative method conducted online through Google Forms (questionnaire) observation. Data processing was carried out from secondary data (Depok city health profile 2019 and other supporting journals) and primary data (questionnaire - Google Forms) using Microsoft Excel. Results: The results of this research indicate that genetic factors, behavioral factors, and healthcare service factors contribute to the risk of hypertension in the working area of Pancoran Mas Health Center, Depok. The coverage of informants experiencing hypertension is 12 (13.3%) out of 14 (15.5%) who have a genetic disease risk. The factors contributing to hypertension in the working area of Pancoran Mas Health Center, Depok, include a lack of physical activity by 69 individuals out of 90 respondents and irregular health check-ups by 41 individuals out of 90 respondents. Conclusion: Based on the occurrence of hypertension in the Depok city area, it is caused by genetic factors (family lineage), behavior (lack of regular physical activity), and routine health check-ups (insufficient regular health check-ups).

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a collection of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels (Hyperglycemia) resulting from abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin function, or both. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus often occurs in productive-age adolescents, where environmental factors such as a family history, obesity, unhealthy lifestyle, low consumption of fruits and vegetables, and ineffective physical activity contribute to its development. Objective: To assess the health status of the community based on the Risk Analysis and Prevention Behavior of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Productive Age in the DKI Jakarta Area in 2021. Method: This research uses a quantitative descriptive method conducted online through the processing of primary data from Google Forms (Questionnaires) from March to August 2021 in the DKI Jakarta area. The respondents in this study are productive-age individuals (12-≥65 years old) totaling 599 respondents. Secondary data collection is done through the Health Profile of DKI Jakarta and several previous research journals. Results: The study indicates that Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Productive Age (12-25 years) is present in 441 individuals (73.6%), and the coverage of respondents at risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is 43 (7%), with a genetic disease risk percentage of 3.5% from 599 respondents. Other contributing factors include gender, with females at 1.8% and males at 1.2%, age groups 55-64 years (6.3%), 65-74 years (6.03%), and 45-54 years (3.9%). Conclusion: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Productive Age is caused by three factors: genetics (family inheritance), behavior (regular physical activity, healthy food consumption, and smoking), and healthcare services (insufficient regular health check-ups).

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional deficiency issue resulting from prolonged insufficient nutrient intake, leading to growth impairment in children, where their height is lower or shorter than the standard for their age. One of the preventive measures for stunting focuses on a family-based approach, as the family is the first environment introduced to the baby. The first two years of a child's life, known as the first 1,000 days, are critical for their growth and development. During this period, infants must receive sufficient and appropriate nutritional intake to avoid malnutrition, which can lead to stunting. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months supports the baby's growth in the initial 6 months of life. Objective: To understand the overview of stunting cases regarding the compliance of mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding to their infants in the Sukmajaya Health Center in 2022. Method: This research employs a descriptive analytical method with the population consisting of the entire community in the Sukmajaya Health Center's service area and a sample of 41 respondents. The research instrument used is through direct observation with interview methods and the collection of secondary data through the annual reports of the Sukmajaya Health Center, the Health Profile of Depok City, and several journals from previous studies. Data analysis is descriptive using the Matrix Criteria Method. Results: The research results indicate that out of 39 stunted children, 28 parents stated that they did not exclusively breastfeed their infants. Other factors influencing stunting in children include low birth weight, unbalanced complementary feeding intake, and incomplete immunization. Conclusion: Calculations regarding problem priorities show that addressing the issue through the creation of an Electronic Module to enhance mothers' knowledge and understanding of exclusive breastfeeding and its long-term effects on a child's future is necessary.
