Abstract

Generation Z often faces challenges related to time management due to excessive use of social media and online gaming, leading to reduced learning productivity and student achievement. This issue has been identified at SMP-SMA Muhammadiyah Sumberpucung, Malang. To address these challenges, lecturers from STIT Ibnu Sina collaborated with students to conduct community service activities using a service learning approach. The activity chosen was a training program titled "Know Yourself, Develop Potential, Achieve Success," aimed primarily at SMP-SMA Muhammadiyah students, followed by counselling sessions with institutional leaders and teachers to develop sustainable solutions for the institution's challenges. These community service activities significantly impacted three groups. Firstly, for SMP-SMA Muhammadiyah students, the pre-and post-training tests showed that 60% of participants gained new insights into their potential and talents, which could be developed into future success. Secondly, for STIT Ibnu Sina students, the service learning experience enhanced their skills in organizing activities, utilizing learning methods and media, building social capital, communicating effectively, problem-solving, and activity evaluation. Thirdly, this activity helped SMP-SMA Muhammadiyah leaders and teachers address issues related to improving their student performance and achievement. These findings suggest that community service, implemented through the service learning concept, can serve as a mutually beneficial collaboration between educational institutions to solve educational challenges.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the limited understanding of ultra-micro business actors (UMi) in Candi Village, Semarang City, regarding financial management and calculating the Cost of Goods Sold (HPP), which affects business sustainability and welfare. The program aimed to provide education on financial management and HPP calculation to help members of the Micro Business Communication Forum (FOKUS) improve their business sustainability and economic welfare. Abstract

The Community Service Program in Serut Village is designed to empower the community through culture-based literacy, focusing on waste management, the preservation of traditional games, and the promotion of local products under the GEOMETRI initiative. This program addresses the issues of plastic waste pollution and the low interest in reading among rural communities. The methods employed include training for mothers and school-aged children in creating flower arrangements from waste materials, participating in traditional math-based games, and running a marketplace. The service team provides sewing training and supports children in improving their literacy skills. The outcomes of this program include enhancing the creative skills of the community, reducing waste, and strengthening environmental literacy and awareness. Through the GEOMETRI program, village residents learn how to better manage waste by repurposing unused materials, such as making buckets from waste. Furthermore, the preservation of traditional math-based games helps to foster greater public interest in reading and literacy, ultimately contributing to heightened environmental awareness. The market also allows local products from rural communities to be promoted more widely, creating new sustainable economic opportunities. This program is expected to serve as a model for sustainable community empowerment in other areas.

Abstract

Halal certification plays an important role for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, especially in Sukodadi District, Lamongan Regency. However, the low understanding and awareness of business actors regarding the benefits and procedures of halal certification is a major obstacle. Many MSMEs consider this process to be complicated, costly and does not provide significant economic benefits. Therefore, this community service activity aims to increase understanding and assist MSMEs in obtaining halal certification through a self-declare scheme. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involves the active participation of MSMEs in each stage, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assistance was provided to ten MSMEs with various types of products, including socialization, facilitation of the creation of Business Identification Numbers (NIB), and submission of halal certification through the SIHalal system. As a solution to the limited quota of free halal certification from the government, facilitators registered MSMEs through a simpler and faster self-declare scheme. The results of this assistance show that all assisted MSMEs have successfully obtained halal certification from BPJPH, with nine of them also being assisted in the NIB creation process. In addition, this activity increases the understanding of business actors regarding the urgency of halal certification. It opens up opportunities for wider market access, including to supermarket chains and modern stores. This program also strengthens social networks between MSMEs and increases local community awareness of the importance of halal-certified products.

Abstract

Education is the cornerstone of national development; however, access to education in remote areas of Indonesia remains limited. Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding Schools), as long-established Islamic educational institutions, hold significant potential in addressing this disparity, particularly in hard-to-reach mountainous regions. This article examines the role of Pondok Pesantren Al Fatih As Syafii in empowering education in remote areas through the integration of technology. By utilizing technology, Islamic boarding schools can enhance the quality of education, reduce disparities, and expand access to information for students. Beyond education, these institutions also function as centers for social and economic development, nurturing the character and skills of students. The appropriate application of technology can strengthen Pondok Pesantren's role in preparing a more competitive generation for the digital age. This research contributes to understanding how Pondok Pesantren can serve as key drivers in bridging the educational gap in remote areas and promoting a more inclusive, technology-enhanced learning environment.

Abstract

The target of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) is the students of Madrasah An Nashar in Makassar. Based on initial communications, several issues were identified: a lack of knowledge and awareness among students regarding journalistic photography, particularly in sports; limited education and exposure to photography; a scarcity of basic photography training in Makassar; and the absence of photography as a core subject in secondary schools. The training methods included lectures, demonstrations, Q &A sessions, and mentoring. The outcomes revealed a significant enhancement in participants' competitiveness, especially in journalistic and creative photography. During practical sessions, all participants were challenged to produce journalistic and creative photos aligned with the training theme, sharing their best work on social media platforms. Twenty active members of the student council attended the training, with full participation in demonstrations and practices, indicating the program's success. Evaluation through simulations and group assignments before and after the training assessed knowledge levels and responses to sports photography practices. The structured approach of delivering theoretical content prior to practical application proved effective, fostering independence and confidence among participants. The program's comprehensive execution, from preparation to field implementation, successfully engaged students in active learning.
