Abstract

Employee engagement refers to the personal involvement of nurses in expressing themselves through their work when carrying out tasks. Engaged and motivated nurses tend to bring innovative ideas, leading to improved performance in the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control. The occurrence of HAIs can diminish the image and quality of hospital services since IPC programs are a key metric for quality control. Therefore, nurses play a crucial role in the implementation of IPC. This research is an analytical correlation study using a cross-sectional method, with proportional sampling techniques involving 103 respondents. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires filled out by the respondents and was subsequently analyzed using Path Analysis with a significance level (?) of 0.05. The Path Analysis results indicate that employee engagement and motivation has a significant impact on nurses' performance in implementing IPC, with a path coefficient of 0.267 and 0.19 and a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.005). The determination coefficient was found to be 0.89. The Path Analysis results show that 89% of the influence on performance can be explained by employee engagement and motivation, while the remaining influence is explained by other factors outside the scope of this study. Management plays a crucial role in enhancing nurses' performance in IPC implementation to improve service quality. Based on the study's findings, it is recommended to improve nurses' competencies through both internal and external training, ensure the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, provide regular supervision by IPCN, and offer management support by considering individual, psychological, and organizational factors.

Abstract

Pre-eclampsia is a serious complication of pregnancy that can harm both mother and fetus. Several risk factors are known to influence the incidence of pre-eclampsia, one of which is Body Mass Index (BMI) which is associated with obesity and metabolic disorders. This study aims to analyze the relationship between BMI and the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women at Bangil Pasuruan Hospital. Methods: This study used an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained through the medical records of pregnant women who underwent examinations at Bangil Hospital. The study sample consisted of 84 pregnant women who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. BMI data was calculated based on the mother's weight and height, while the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia was determined through medical examination according to applicable criteria. The analysis showed a p value = 0.003, indicating a significant association between BMI and the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women. This indicates that pregnant women with higher BMI have a greater risk of developing pre-eclampsia. The conclusion of this study is that BMI is a significant risk factor for the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women at Bangil Pasuruan Hospital. Therefore, it is important to monitor and manage weight in pregnant women as part of efforts to prevent pre-eclampsia.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of physical disability in the elderly, particularly related to muscle weakness and motor impairments. This study aims to explore the development of muscle strength in elderly post-stroke through grip ball therapy with a qualitative approach. The study involves two elderly post-stroke subjects selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, and analyzed using a thematic approach. The results show that grip ball therapy significantly improves muscle strength in the affected hand of both subjects. The first subject experienced an improvement in right-hand strength, enabling greater independence in daily activities. The second subject reported increased strength in the left hand, making it easier to perform daily tasks independently. Additionally, this therapy had a positive impact on the psychological condition of the subjects, such as feelings of satisfaction, confidence, and gratitude for the progress achieved. This study concludes that grip ball therapy is a simple, effective, and affordable rehabilitation alternative for elderly post-stroke individuals, particularly in areas with limited access to medical facilities. This therapy not only enhances muscle strength but also has a positive impact on the overall quality of life of the patients. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term benefits of this therapy and to integrate psychological aspects into stroke rehabilitation approaches

Abstract

Electrical accidents have a direct impact on workers' health conditions, production losses and losses experienced by companies due to loss of assets when work accidents occur. Accidents that occur are caused by several factors, which by knowing these factors, can provide relevant information regarding the causes of the occurrence of an electrical accident so that workers can prevent it before it happens. The research was carried out using the "PRISMA" method or (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses). In searching for relevant research using database google scholar and Sciendirect, with keywords “Electrical accident” And “Electrician Workers”. The total number of journals that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria is 6 journals, consisting of 2 journals indexed Q1, 1 journal indexed Q2 and 3 journals indexed Q3. Abstract

Combating Tuberculosis case has become the world's attention and Indonesia become the fifth country with the highest TB burden in the world. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can be transmitted when active lung TB patient coughs, sneezes, or speaks. So inadequate effort to prevent TB infection can increase the risk of transmitted this bacterium to families and increase the incidence of TB. This study aimed to determine the effort to prevent TB transmission of patients with active pulmonary TB to family in working area of Puskesmas Mulyorejo, Malang City. This study design was descriptive and 45 respondents (34.60 + 7.55 years old) were included in this study using total sampling. This study used closed questionnaire as instrument. The result of this studies showedthat effort to prevent transmission of TB of patients with active pulmonary TB to families was 55.5% categories enough. The effort of patients with active pulmonary TB that oftendo is open the window in the morning for better ventilation. This study concludes that patients with active pulmonary TB have sufficient effort to prevent transmission of TB to families. We suggest the effort to prevent transmission of TB can be increased and the effort of health center like PuskesmasMulyorejo should be maintained so that combating of TB can be accomplished.

Abstract

Village X is one of the largest andesite mining areas in Majalengka Regency, with a high risk of workplace accidents due to traditional mining practices that still rely on manual handling. The use of human labor in a manual manner can lead to complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Based on a preliminary study conducted on April 13, 2024, it was found that 5 out of 6 stone miners experienced high-level complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. This research aims to determine the relationship between manual handling work and complaints of musculoskeletal disorders. The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study consisted of a total population of 40 respondents. Data analysis utilized univariate and bivariate analysis with Pearson chi-square statistical testing. The results of the study revealed a significant relationship between manual handling work and complaints of MSDs (p=0.001). With these findings, it is hoped that mine owners, community health centers, and miners can collaborate to provide appropriate education and training on manual handling. Additionally, it is expected that mine owners will implement balanced work and rest schedules to help prevent accidents.
