Abstract

This research aims to identify the main determinants that cause truck round time (TRT) service times to exceed standards and analyze their impact on operational efficiency at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya. Qualitative research methods with a triangulation approach were used to collect and analyze data. The research results show that the average annual TRT exceeds the standard of 30 minutes: 42.03 minutes (2021), 41.66 minutes (2022), and 41.38 minutes (2023). Key factors include crowding in the stacking yard, equipment problems, human resource skills and discipline, and adverse weather conditions. The impacts of high TRT include disruption of loading and unloading activities, increased operational costs, and decreased customer loyalty, which threatens the performance and sustainability of a company's business relationships.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the obstacles causing delays in the stuffing out process at the warehouse of PT. Lyon Oceanic Trans Surabaya. The research method used is a qualitative approach by collecting data through observations and in-depth interviews with warehouse workers and managers. The results show that the delay in stuffing out is caused by several main factors, namely the late delivery of goods from customers to the warehouse and the lack of support tools such as forklifts, thus relying only on human labor. The conclusion of this study indicates the need for increased efficiency in the delivery of goods as well as the addition of facilities and equipment in the warehouse to expedite the stuffing out process.

Abstract

Shipping safety is a crucial aspect in the maritime industry which faces various risks of accidents. This research aims to examine the innovative role of Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) in improving shipping safety through accident prediction and prevention. The research method used is qualitative using secondary data from industry reports, journal articles and related publications. The research results show that Big Data can improve the ability to predict and prevent shipping accidents by analyzing weather data, ship movements and sea conditions to produce accurate predictive models. In addition, IoT makes a specific contribution in real-time monitoring and risk mitigation through sensors and AIS systems that provide real-time data for fast and informed decision making. However, the integration of Big Data and IoT faces major challenges such as cybersecurity, implementation costs, and the need for adequate infrastructure. Nevertheless, the prospects for developing this technology are very promising with increased security protocols, reduced costs through innovation, and development of maritime telecommunications infrastructure. In conclusion, Big Data and IoT have great potential to improve shipping safety, but require attention to existing challenges to realize their full benefits.

Abstract

The cooling system is equipped in the engine for cooling and preventing overheating, the cooling system in addition to aiming for this, is required to regulate and stage the optimal temperature in the engine operating by flowing the cooling medium for the parts of the engine to be cooled, the system Cooling must also be considered so that the engine can operate properly, one of the components of the cooling system is a heat exchanger which has a very important role in supporting the performance of the cooling system. A heat exchanger is a device in which heat transfer occurs between two or more fluids at different temperatures. This research was carried out on board the MV. Meratus Amurang. The cooling system used on the MV Meratus Amurang is a centralized cooling system (Central Cooling), this cooling system is designed to have only one heat exchanger which Teknologi Rekayasa Permesinan Kapal is cooled by seawater, while for other coolers including jacket water, lubricating oil, rinse air, cooled with low temperature fresh water. The purpose of this study is to find out how to perform maintenance and operation of the cooling system on the main engine on board the MV. Meratus Amurang.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze sea transportation passenger services on passenger satisfaction at the Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. The time used by researchers to conduct research during 6 months Land Practices (PRADA) at the Gapura Nusantara Terminal which is under the auspices of PT. Pelindo. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The data sources used are secondary data and primary data, for data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research show that the service at the Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal is good, seen from the aspects of safety, security, reliability, comfort, such as stretchers, CCTV, security posts, disturbance information, ticket printing machines, waiting rooms, toilets and others. However, there are factors that cause the loss of consumer confidence in the services provided by the Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal, namely the unavailability of a suggestion box or website to accommodate complaints and suggestions, the condition of the smoking area which is a little dirty due to cigarette butts being thrown away carelessly, apart from that, passengers prefer to smoke. in the front area of the waiting room rather than in a designated smoking room and there is minimal availability of rubbish bins.
