Abstract

Grice’s conversational maxims, developed by British philosopher H. Paul Grice in 1975, are based on the Cooperative Principle, which outlines how individuals communicate effectively by adhering to four maxims: Quantity, Quality, Relation, and Manner. This study analyzed the Psick Show podcast scene “Asking BTS RM on 2022 Income Tax” using a descriptive qualitative method. The analysis identified 19 instances of flouting conversational maxims, comprising 5 utterances flouting the maxim of quality (26.32%), 4 flouting the maxim of quantity (21.05%), 4 flouting the maxim of relation (21.05%), and 6 flouting the maxim of manner (31.58%). The maxim of manner was the most frequently flouted, attributed to the speakers’ intentional use of ambiguous or indirect responses to create humor, evade sensitive topics such as income tax, or shift the conversation, particularly in the dynamic and playful interaction involving RM and the hosts. This study aims to enhance readers’ understanding of Grice’s conversational maxims and their flouting, offering insights into how intentional violations shape communication in the context of popular media such as podcasts.

Abstract

Biografi merupakan kisah hidup seseorang yang ditulis oleh orang lain. Dalam biografi biasanya digambarkan perjalanan hidup seorang tokoh mulai dari masa kecilnya, termasuk latar belakang keluarga dan lingkungan tempat ia tumbuh. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang biografi tokoh pendiri kampung angklung di Ciamis Mumu Alimudin atau kerap disapa Mumu angklung adalah seorang tokoh pendiri kampung angklung yang berada di desa Panyingkiran, Kecamatan Ciamis, Kabupaten Ciamis. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah dan penelitian sejarah dengan mencakup tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka serta wawancara guna menggali informasi secara mendalam dari para narasumber yang mengetahui sejarah komunitas tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kisah hidup Mumu Alimudin mencerminkan perjalanan inspiratif seorang tokoh lokal yang berperan besar dalam pelestarian budaya angklung dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Mumu juga dikenal sebagai tokoh masyarakat yang rendah hati, aktif di berbagai kegiatan sosial, dan menanamkan nilai-nilai kemandirian serta kerja keras kepada keluarganya. Ia berhasil mengintegrasikan aspek budaya, ekonomi, dan pendidikan melalui angklung, dengan jangkauan pemasaran hingga luar Pulau Jawa. Meski menghadapi tantangan, termasuk dampak pandemi, semangatnya tetap teguh dalam mengembangkan warisan budaya Sunda.

Abstract

In the Era of Technological Advancement, Gadgets Play an Important Role in Various ActivitiesThis includes learning. With various applications offered by platform providers, both on Android and iOS, people can now learn something independently. Busuu is an application developed to help individuals learn foreign languages independently, for example, learning English on their own. The learning levels used in this application adhere to international standards, ranging from beginner level (A1), elementary level (A2), intermediate level (B1), to upper-intermediate level (B2). This application provides learning materials in audiovisual formats that enhance four English language skills. The optimization of using the Busuu application makes it highly possible for someone to prepare themselves to communicate in English. This study employs a quantitative approach with a population of 4,818 and a sample size of 20 respondents using random sampling. The data analysis techniques used are regression tests and multiple correlation analyses. The respondents in this study are users of the Busuu applicationThe test results indicate that: Simultaneously, there is an influence between variable X and variable Y with a significance value of 0.000.Partially, there is no influence of variable X1 on variable Y with a significance value of 0.054, there is an influence of variable X2 on variable Y with a significance value of 0.030, and there is an influence of variable X3 on variable Y with a significance value of 0.000.

Abstract

The mass media, especially social media, plays an important role in the political education of students in today's digital age. The rapid and widespread accessibility of political information allows students to develop political awareness and form perceptions of national leadership. This study aims to analyze the role of the media in political education for students, focusing on how their perceptions of the quality of national leadership are shaped through media consumption. Using a literature review approach with a descriptive qualitative method, the research data was obtained through an analysis of academic literature from ten relevant sources discussing media, political education, and national leadership. The results of the study indicate that the intensity of social media use is positively correlated with the level of students' political understanding. Additionally, digital literacy plays a crucial role in determining the accuracy of students' political perceptions, while diversifying information sources enriches their political perspectives. However, misinformation and information bias remain serious challenges that must be addressed through strengthening media literacy. This study emphasizes the need for synergy between the mass media, educational institutions, and political parties in shaping holistic political education based on democratic values. In conclusion, the mass media has great potential in building a politically aware, critical, and moral younger generation, provided it is supported by adequate digital literacy and access to credible information.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code-mixing, particularly the integration of English words into Indonesian tweets among Korean fan communities, demonstrates the interesting intersection of language, culture and identity. As global fandom expands, a unique linguistic landscape is created where fans express their identities and affiliations through language mixing. This study aims to explore how Indonesian fans of Korean pop culture use English-derived words in their tweets, reflecting both their engagement with global media and the dynamics of local linguistic practices. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The purposive sampling method is used in this research. The purposive sampling method is used in this study to analyze all sentences written by starfess. The researchers classified the data based on the type and reason of code mix. Researchers found code mixes in various types, for the types of code mixes found in @starfess tweets, researchers analyzed using Suwito's theory. The types put forward by Suwito such as words, and idioms. Overall, this study has opened up research directions while offering in-depth information about the phenomenon of code-mixing on Twitter. Future research could investigate the psychological underpinnings of why people participate in code-mixing online or compare analysis on other platforms. The linguistic methods used by digital communication users will also change over time, requiring constant scientific attention to understand these developments and their wider impact on society and communication.

Abstract

In today's digital age, rapid technological developments and the widespread use of social media have had a significant impact on student learning behavior, especially at the high school level. Symptoms such as decreased focus on learning, a tendency to become bored quickly, and dependence on digital entertainment pose serious challenges for the education sector. In such circumstances, teachers play a crucial role in reigniting students' enthusiasm for learning through innovative approaches that align with the dynamics of the times. This study aims to theoretically explore teachers' contributions in fostering students' learning motivation by referencing approaches and strategies examined through literature reviews. The method used is literature review (library research), analyzing various scientific sources such as books, journals, and relevant research findings on similar topics. The findings from this study indicate that teachers who apply interactive learning methods, build good communication with students, and utilize technology wisely have great potential to increase learning motivation. From these results, it can be concluded that teachers' ability to adapt to the times and actively serve as mentors and motivators is essential to address the learning motivation crisis among high school students.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan suatu inovasi dalam sistem pendidikan nasional Indonesia yang mengedepankan prinsip kebebasan belajar serta pengembangan potensi peserta didik secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji Kurikulum Merdeka dari perspektif filsafat pendidikan Ki Hajar Dewantara, tokoh pelopor pendidikan nasional yang menekankan pentingnya kebebasan dalam proses belajar serta penghormatan terhadap nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Kajian dilakukan dengan metode studi literatur menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis filosofis terhadap dokumen resmi Kurikulum Merdeka serta tulisan-tulisan Ki Hajar Dewantara. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan adanya keterkaitan yang erat antara prinsip-prinsip yang diusung dalam Kurikulum Merdeka dengan pemikiran pendidikan Ki Hajar Dewantara, khususnya dalam hal pemberian kebebasan belajar kepada peserta didik untuk mengaktualisasikan potensi diri sesuai dengan konteks sosial budaya. Selain itu, filosofi “tut wuri handayani” menjadi pijakan utama dalam pelaksanaan kurikulum ini, yang menempatkan pendidik sebagai fasilitator dan motivator dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dapat lebih mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dan karakter bangsa sesuai dengan pemikiran Ki Hajar Dewantara guna mewujudkan pendidikan yang relevan dan bermakna bagi masyarakat Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki peran manajemen humas dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di institusi pendidikan. Salah satu alat strategis untuk mencapai tujuan kualitas pendidikan adalah manajemen humas. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kasus dan penelitian literatur sebelumnya untuk mempelajari beberapa praktik manajemen humas terbaik di institusi pendidikan yang telah menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kualitas layanan dan prestasi akademik. Strategi komunikasi internal dan eksternal, pengelolaan reputasi lembaga, hubungan dengan pemangku kepentingan (siswa, orang tua, guru, masyarakat, dan pemerintah), dan manajemen krisis adalah subjek utama penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menerapkan manajemen humas yang efektif dapat meningkatkan partisipasi dan kepercayaan masyarakat, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menyenangkan, dan menciptakan citra positif tentang lembaga. Hal ini secara langsung berkontribusi pada motivasi belajar siswa yang lebih tinggi, kualitas pengajaran guru, dan kualitas lulusan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kapasitas humas profesional di sektor pendidikan sangat penting untuk mencapai visi pendidikan yang relevan dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Salah satu tantangan utama dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang efektif di Indonesia masih berkaitan dengan ketimpangan dalam kualitas sumber daya pendidikan dan ketersediaannya. Banyak sekolah terutama di daerah terpencil masih menghadapi berbagai keterbatasan fasilitas seperti perpustakaan, laboratorium, ruang kelas yang layak, dan teknologi pembelajaran. Kondisi ini berdampak pada siswa yang tidak termotivasi untuk belajar, kurangnya keterlibatan aktif dalam pelajaran, dan hasil belajar yang masih sangat buruk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari bagaimana sarana dan prasarana berkontribusi pada pembentukan suasana belajar yang baik, menyenangkan, dan produktif bagi siswa. Metode ini menggunakan penelitian literatur dengan meninjau jurnal ilmiah, buku teks, dan laporan penelitian terbaru tentang fasilitas pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan buku pelajaran, alat peraga, dan teknologi pendukung pembelajaran, hal ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap seberapa efektif pembelajaran berlangsung. Fasilitas kelas yang nyaman, perpustakaan yang representatif, dan laboratorium yang lengkap sangat penting untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa suasana belajar tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan fasilitas, tetapi juga oleh cara fasilitas dikelola dan digunakan secara optimal. Misalnya, ruang kelas yang rapi dan bersih dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi siswa. Di sisi lain, laboratorium yang aktif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah dan berpikir kritis. Hal ini juga sangat penting untuk menyelesaikan perbedaan distribusi fasilitas pendidikan antara daerah perkotaan dan pedesaan. Oleh karena itu, dalam kebijakan pendidikan nasional, pengadaan dan pengelolaan sarana harus menjadi prioritas utama, Untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif, efektif, dan berdaya saing sehingga semua orang harus bekerja sama dan berkolaborasi untuk memastikan semua orang memiliki akses yang sama ke fasilitas pendidikan.

Abstract

Peacebuilding through education toward global citizenship is one of the essential pillars in realizing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In this framework, the topic directly relates to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.7, which encourages education for sustainable development, global citizenship, a culture of peace, and non-violence. Global Citizenship Education (GCED) plays a strategic role in promoting peace by fostering the ability to think globally and act locally. This includes integrating emotional intelligence (EQ), cultivating shared values, mitigating climate change, and promoting gender equality as key indicators in shaping decision-making processes and institutional structures. These elements reflect civic engagement at both local and global levels through the triptych approach: foundation, adaptation, and integration. Implementing GCED within diverse local contexts, especially in multicultural and religiously plural environments like Indonesia, requires tailored strategies. In this regard, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has significant potential as a foundation for fostering cross-cultural competencies among students. This article explores how Islamic Religious Education can construct students' cross-cultural competencies through curriculum development based on GCED principles while remaining rooted in Indonesia's socio-religious context. Using a qualitative literature review, this study critically examines how PAI can be a strategic entry point for integrating GCED in Indonesian education without compromising local identity and religious values. The findings indicate that integrating GCED into PAI faces various challenges, particularly teachers' limited understanding of GCED and the absence of a curriculum responsive to global issues. Therefore, an effective strategy is needed, including innovative curriculum design, project-based learning models, intercultural dialogue, and enhancing teachers' roles as facilitators who connect Islamic values with global citizenship awareness.
