Abstract

Abstract Eclipses are one of the rare natural phenomena. Apart from being a natural phenomenon, the appearance of an eclipse is the cause of the sunnah of the eclipse prayer. This phenomenon can be known by using contemporary methods of reckoning. To get to know more the author will discuss "Problematics of the Law of Eclipse Prayer When Invisible". The method used in this study is a qualitative type of library research. By understanding eclipses from an astronomical perspective, eclipses in the perspective of Islamic law, the types of eclipses, and the problems that are the reasons why it is sunnah or not to pray eclipses. Based on the results of the readings that the author did, there are several points, namely: astronomically, the eclipse phenomenon is defined as the closing of the observer's view of the celestial body by other celestial bodies that are closer to the observer caused by the value of astronomical longitude and the angle of inclination of the Moon's orbit around the Earth. A penumbral lunar eclipse is not a sunnah to khusuf prayer. When during an eclipse the weather is cloudy with thick clouds or heavy rain, then there are two opinions, namely: it is not sunnah to pray the eclipse "madzhab rukyah" and it is still sunnah to pray the eclipse "madzhab hisab".

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how to determine the Qibla direction of aplace using the position of the planet Venus and how to prove the calculation of the position ofVenus in the sky. This research is motivated by the question of how to determine the Qibladirection at night if the conditions do not have sophisticated technological equipment. Thisresearch is a descriptive analysis research where all the data is collected through observationtechniques. The research results show that the position of the planet Venus can be used as analternative reference to determine the Qibla direction. Based on observations using astronomicalcalculations, it is known that Venus looks very luminous on the western horizon when the sky isclear and the sun has set perfectly. We can also see one of the planets Venus at dawn on theeastern horizon, so Venus is also often referred to as the morning star. Data on the position of theplanet Venus such as the altitude and azimuth of the planet Venus somewhere are then calculatedusing the horizon coordinate system. The data is used as a theodolite reference. Furthermore, toobtain the actual Qibla direction, the theodolite lens is directed to the position of the planet Venusand rotated clockwise (same as the difference in the azimuth angle with the Qibla azimuth ofVenus). Thus, the position of the planet Venus can be used as an alternative to determine the Qibladirection.

Abstract

Based on the Sipariama cycle described in the Lontara Pananrang, we aim to determine a reasonable timing schedule for farming activities in this study. The Buginese people utilise this as a rule of thumb because they believe that the same occurrences occur every eight years and by observing natural signals, they may be certain in their forecasts for this auspicious period. In addition, since the Sipariama cycle's calendar system is based on the Hijri month, which employs the lunar calendar system, this research also attempts to establish a link between the moon's motion and the occurrence of climate change. By comparing the findings of the analysis in the sipariama cycle with the findings of the analysis of the data that had been obtained, the data listed in this paper were taken from the results of analysis from journals related to Lontara Pananrang. According to the findings of this study's work, the Sipariama cycle, which lasted for eight years, solely had a numerical basis. then climatic change, namely the occurrence of air tides, is influenced by the motion of the moon.

Abstract

Historians present the origin of the Javanese Islamic calendar by associating it with Sultan Agung, in contrast to the explanation in the fiber Widya Pradhana, Ronggowasito precisely mentions that the Javanese Islamic calendar was formulated by Sunan Giri II. So it can be examined is there a difference between the calculation of the calendar formulated by Sultan Agung and Sunan Giri II as described by Ronggowasito. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, with secondary data taken from the manuscript fiber Widya Pradhana. The results of the study will be divided into two, the difference in terms of calculation and in terms of the function of the Javanese Islamic calendar in both versions.

Abstract

The Javanese Islamic Aboge calendar is one of the local Indonesian calendars whose calculations are static and standard. The Javanese calendar is a special calendar because it is a blend of Islamic culture and Javanese Hindu-Buddhist culture whose calculations are based on the moon around the sun. Astronomically, the Javanese calendar is classified as a mathematical calendar, while the Hijri calendar is an astronomical calendar. Methodologically this paper is a Research Library where the data collected comes from library sources that are considered representatively related to the object of this study. This paper is descriptive-analytical, where this paper will explain and explain the truth and error of a fact. Then also analytically developed in a balanced manner by looking at the advantages and disadvantages of the object under study. According to the reckoning rukyah discourse, the Aboge system which includes 'urfi reckoning is no longer relevant to what is required by syara' and cannot be used in determining the beginning of the Lunar month related to the implementation of worship (determination of Ramadan fasting and holidays). Because according to this system, the age of Sha'ban remains 29 days while the month of Ramadan also remains 30 days.

Abstract

The people of Lombok and Bali initially used palelintangan, but in its development, the Balinese leaned more towards astrology. Most of the Sasak tribe, the people of Lombok, work as farmers and have been friends with nature since their ancestors existed. The evidence is that they utilize nature as a sign before carrying out their activities by calculating a lucky day or the right time, the beginning of the year, and changing seasons based on constellations, besides that natural signs are also considered. However, there has yet to be a complete study. What is palelintangan? How is the concept and implementation of palelintangan? Moreover, how does palelintangan affect the Sasak tribe? This study employs the library method. The main data source comes from a book entitled 'Traditional Astronomical Studies (Palelintangan) in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara' and the additional data sources are taken from journals and scientific papers related to palelintangan. The data analysis's results discover that pelentangan is a traditional astronomy that has been implemented and was outlined in the form of wariga boards and rowot calendars to calculate the lucky days and determine the time related to the Sasak people's lives.

Abstract

This research discusses the history of the calculation of the date of Easter as part of the reform of the Gregorian calendar using a historical approach. It examines the history of the determination of the date of Easter by the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and the use of the ecclesiastical full moon method to calculate the date of Easter. This research also discusses the differences in the dating of Easter in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and the relationship between the dating of Easter and the astronomical vernal equinox. The results of this research show that the date of Easter is calculated based on mathematical calculations, taking into account the ecclesiastical full moon and is no longer related to accurate astronomical calculations. This research provides a clear overview of the history and methods of determining the date of Easter and can serve as a reference for scientists and researchers to further study the reform of the Gregorian calendar and the calculation of the date of Easter.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation and accuracy of the Jean Meeus Algorithm in determining lunar and solar eclipses. This research is a qualitative research with a literature approach. The primary data source for this research is a book entitled Astronomical Algorithm by Jean Meeus. Meanwhile, secondary data is all information related to the Jean Meeus algorithm in determining eclipses obtained from various literature such as books, websites, encyclopedias, dictionaries, scientific articles, and other sources of information. The results of this study indicate that determining the eclipse time using the Jean Meeus algorithm involves seven stages of calculation namely; starting with determining the year the eclipse occurred, then determining the gamma value, JDE (Julian Day Ephemeris), the payoff value (k), the saros series, the reference time (To) and the Bessel Element value. The calculation of the Jean Meeus Algorithm is included in the tahkiki essential reckoning method because the calculation process involves astronomical data with very precise corrections for the motion of the Moon and the Sun, This method is also based on the heliocentric flow. In addition, the level of accuracy of Jean Meeus' calculations has a good match with NASA as a comparison, namely with results that are only 1 to 3 minutes apart and the average difference is only in seconds.

Abstract

The Aji Saka calendar system is one of the oldest lunisolar calendars used in the Land of Java, several elements in the Aji Saka Calendar system are still being adopted in the Javanese Islamic Calendar. The Aji Saka calendar was created in 78 AD, by a figure from Hindustan named Aji Saka. This paper is the result of a literature study (Library Research) that is analytically descriptive in nature which describes the Javanese Saka Calendar in the Description of Candrasengkala and Serat Pustakaraja Purwa with a historical approach. Until finally during the reign of Mataram Islam under the leadership of Sultan Agung, the Saka calendar was reformed and combined with the Hijri Calendar to become the Islamic Javanese Calendar that we know today.
