Abstract

This study is based on the assumption that teachers’ lack of awareness of students’ learning styles contributes to unsatisfactory learning outcomes. This quantitative descriptive study aims to find the relationship between students’ learning styles and their IPAS learning achievements. Data on the learning style of the research sample of 30 fifth-grade students at Mujahidin Elementary School in Pontianak was collected using a learning style questionnaire from Chislett and Chapman (2005). Meanwhile, learning achievement data was obtained from teacher documentation. The data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, and One Way Anova test using SPSS software. The results showed that the students’ learning styles were dominated by visual learning styles at 60%, followed by auditory learning styles at 23,3%, and kinesthetic learning styles at 16,7%. The Anova test results showed a significance value of 0,134 (α > 0,05), indicating that there was no significant effect between the student’s learning style groups and their IPAS learning achievements. The finding of no significant effect confirms that there are other factors beyond learning style that are the source of problems in IPAS learning in elementary schools. The problem is multifactorial in nature, including internal and external aspects of students, along with the quality of innovative, varied, and relevant learning experiences provided by teachers. Therefore, the success of IPAS achievement transformation needs to prioritize strengthening students’ intrinsic motivation and enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competencies in designing differentiated and engaging learning activities, ensuring positive synergy across all internal and external elements.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of local-wisdom-based animated folklore videos in increasing elementary students’ reading interest using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The analysis includes 25 scientific articles published from 2020–2025 sourced from Google Scholar, ERIC, and ScienceDirect. The findings show that 80% of the reviewed studies report significant improvements in reading interest, motivation, and comprehension when animated folklore media is implemented. Three core mechanisms support effectiveness: (1) visual and emotional engagement that stimulates intrinsic motivation, (2) cultural and moral value integration that strengthens contextual understanding, and (3) multimodal presentation combining audio, visual, and textual elements to aid comprehension. Despite positive outcomes, challenges were identified, such as limited digital infrastructure and teacher capacity. The study concludes that animated folklore videos are an effective and culturally relevant medium to enhance literacy. Future research is suggested to validate the model empirically through experimental classroom studies across diverse regional contexts.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level, particularly in writing inspirational narrative texts, continues to face several challenges. Many students struggle to generate ideas, construct coherent plotlines, and choose appropriate diction, resulting in monotonous and less engaging writing. This study is a literature review employing a descriptive qualitative approach following the PRISMA framework to examine research on the integration of interactive videos and deep learning approaches in improving students’ writing skills. The review process included article identification, eligibility screening, and thematic analysis of relevant studies. The synthesis reveals that interactive videos help students build imagination, generate ideas more quickly, and understand narrative structures, while deep learning encourages critical and reflective thinking, enabling them to produce more coherent and meaningful texts. This study is limited by the number of included articles and the diversity of research contexts. Therefore, classroom implementation should involve careful selection of relevant videos, consistent teacher guidance, and further studies encompassing broader contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the effect of socio-scientific issues-based learning on improving students’ decision-making skills in science learning. The research method used was a systematic literature review employing the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach. Article searching was conducted through the Google Scholar database with the inclusion criteria of articles published between 2020 and 2025, discussing socio-scientific issues and decision-making skills in the context of science education, and published in national journals. A total of 80 articles were identified at the initial stage, of which three articles met the inclusion and quality criteria and were analyzed further. The results of the analysis indicate that socio-scientific issues-based learning has the potential to enhance students’ decision-making skills, particularly through the use of SSI-based electronic modules and the implementation of innovative learning models such as RICOSRE and ReClif. SSI-based learning equips students to identify problems, collect and evaluate information, consider alternative solutions, and determine the most appropriate decision. This review shows that socio-scientific issues-based learning is a contextual approach to strengthening students’ decision-making skills in science learning, and that further development is needed focusing on the design and evaluation of decision-making skills.
