Abstract

Academic writing is an essential skill for students, researchers, and professionals who aim to convey ideas, concepts, and findings systematically and logically. This article discusses the art of structuring ideas in scholarly writing by integrating formality, logic, and creativity to ensure the text remains both communicative and engaging. This study employs a literature review approach to analyze academic writing literature from various books, journals, and scholarly articles. The findings indicate that an effective academic style emphasizes clear formal language, valid references, and objectivity. Presenting arguments from general to specific, using examples and illustrations, creating an outline, developing paragraphs around a single main idea, and employing transitions between paragraphs are all strategies for effectively packaging ideas. The processes of revision, cohesion, coherence, and terminological consistency are also critical components in enhancing the quality of writing. This article concludes that writing in an academic style is a combination of the art of idea presentation and logical thought structure, resulting in scholarly work that is high-quality, easily understood, and engaging for readers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the implementation of dialogic learning strategies and indicators of educational quality, as well as to analyze structural, cultural, and pedagogical constraints and contextual opportunities influencing their application in archipelagic regions. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in several senior high schools in Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency. The findings reveal that dialogic learning practices have begun to emerge through reflective dialogue, collective knowledge construction, and more egalitarian pedagogical relationships between teachers and students. This approach contributes to improving the quality of the learning process by enhancing student engagement, fostering critical reflection, and increasing the relevance of learning to local socio-cultural contexts. However, its implementation remains constrained by the persistence of traditional teaching practices, limited pedagogical capacity among educators, and unequal distribution of educational resources in island regions. Based on these findings, the study highlights the need to develop a contextual and operational model of dialogic learning strategies at the senior high school level. Such a model should emphasize participatory pedagogical interaction while integrating cultural, social, and epistemological dimensions relevant to students’ local contexts. Key components include the development of a conceptual framework and instructional syntax, integration of local socio-cultural content, strengthening teachers’ competencies in dialogic pedagogy, promotion of collaborative learning, development of dialogic-based instructional materials, implementation of reflective and participatory assessment systems, and the creation of democratic and emancipatory learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Siri as a tool to improve the English speaking skills of eighth grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 22 Pamulang. Technology has become an important part of education, helping students learn English in an engaging and interactive way. Siri, a virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence (AI), provides instant feedback that helps learners improve their confidence, fluency, and pronunciation through consistent, engaging communication. The study used a quasi-experimental design to divide students into two groups. The experimental group learned to speak with Siri, while the control group used traditional learning techniques. Pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and vocabulary were measured before and after data were collected. The results of statistical analysis showed that the experimental group had higher post-test scores than the control group. These findings show that, despite minor limitations such as accent recognition and device dependency, Siri can effectively help students improve their speaking skills by providing instant feedback and encouraging autonomous learning beyond the classroom.
