Abstract

This research focuses on the challenges in learning mathematics, especially in understanding and solving the system of linear equations of two variables, which is often an obstacle for students. This study aims to improve students' ability to solve SPLDV as well as increase students' motivation and engagement in learning. This study analyzed the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving the ability to solve the System of Linear Equations of Two Variables (SPLDV) in class VIII students of SMPN 54 Surabaya. This study involved 34 students consisting of 18 male students and 16 female students using a Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach carried out in two cycles, each of which consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The instruments used were learning outcome tests, observation sheets, and student questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in students' SPLDV problem solving ability, with the average score of students increasing from 65 in the pretest to 75 in the first cycle post-test, and reached 85 in the second cycle post-test. The proportion of students who met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) increased from 50% in the first cycle to 85% in the second cycle. Further analysis showed that female students outperformed male students, with an average score of 87 and 82. Student engagement also increased, reaching 90% in the second cycle. This study concludes that the PBL model effectively improved SPLDV problem solving skills in grade 9 students and recommends its wider application in mathematics education.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, many students are experiencing a cultural identity crisis, where they are more likely to appreciate foreign culture than local culture. This phenomenon can be seen among students of SMA Negeri 13 Surabaya, where students' interest in the archipelago's cultural activities tends to be low. This study aims to increase awareness of the archipelago's cultural identity among students of class XII 8 SMA Negeri 13 Surabaya through digital collage learning. The method used is a cultural arts learning approach with the theme of the archipelago which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed that students were not only able to complete the task well, but also produce quality collage works. There was a significant increase in students' understanding of the culture of the archipelago, which was reflected in the average pre-test score of 58 to 82 in the post-test. Some students even published their work on social media, indicating an increase in cultural awareness. This research is expected to be a reference for other teachers in developing art and culture learning methods that are more interesting and relevant to modern technology. The conclusion of this research shows that digital collage learning is effective in improving students' understanding of Nusantara culture. Students show active involvement in the learning process, which can be seen from students' activeness in the learning process.

Abstract

Illegal stock trading, or insider trading, has become a significant issue in the capital markets, both in Indonesia and the United States. This research aims to compare law enforcement related to insider trading between the two countries. This research uses a normative method with legislative and conceptual approaches. Data was collected through analysis of laws and regulations and case studies related to insider trading practices. The findings show that the regulations in the UUPM in Indonesia still use the fiduciary duty theory, which limits the scope of actions that can be sanctioned. In contrast, in the United States, the application of the fiduciary duty theory and misappropriation theory provides stronger legal protection and stricter sanctions against insider trading offenses. Although both countries have regulations prohibiting insider trading, the enforcement mechanism in the US is more comprehensive than in Indonesia. In the US, there are more legal precedents that clarify limits and sanctions, while in Indonesia, there is still a lack of implementation and understanding of insider trading. Enforcement of insider trading laws in the US is more effective than in Indonesia. The UUPM in Indonesia needs to be revised to integrate the misappropriation theory and strengthen sanctions against insider trading violations, in order to provide better protection to investors.
