Abstract

This research aims to analyze the mathematical communication ability of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep on the linear program material. This research is a qualitative research. The research procedure includes the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the data analysis stage. The selection of research subjects was carried out by looking at the students' academic mathematics scores, namely the highest, medium, and lowest scores in the class swith the KKM score as a reference for assessment. The instruments used are tests of mathematical communication ability and interviews. Checking the validity of the data used was the triangulation technique. The results showed that the students of class XI Mathematics and Natural Sciences lacked an understanding of the Linear Program material so that the students had low mathematical communication skills in the Linear Program material.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to solve the problem of lack of creative thinking ability used sinektik learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental design with a control group of non-equivalence. The subjects in this study were students of MTs Husnul Khotimah Kuningan VIII class are divided into two groups: the experimental group as many as 31 students and a control group as many as 33 students. The experimental group get sinektik learning model, while the control group getting conventional learning models. Collecting data using the research results in the form of test instruments of creative thinking ability. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Data pretest and posttest of creative thinking ability processed with SPSS 16 for windows. The results showed that an increase in creative thinking abilities of students who study mathematics learning model sinektik better than students who use conventional learning model.                                                                                                          Keywords: sinektik learning model, the ability creative thinking.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is aimed to increase students higher order thinking skill in mathematics learning using probing-prompting learning technique. This research is descriptive research with 21 students of X.C class at SMAN 02 Indralaya Utara as the subject. Learning process is according to the characteristic and steps of probing-prompting learning technique. Techniques for collecting data are test which includes of three problems and interview to obtain additional data. According to the results of research, it’s obtained that representation of students’ higher order thinking skill in problem based learning on X.C class at SMAN 02 Indralaya Utara is good with this details: percentage of students who have higher order thinking skill with category excellent is 19%. Then, 38,1% have higher order thinking skill with category good; 28,6% have higher order thinking skill with category medium; 14,3% have higher order thinking skill with category bad; nothing shave higher order thinking skill with category very bad. Indicator of analyzing have the highest percentage with 85,7%. Then, indicator of evaluating have percentage 71,4%, and indicator with the lowest percentage is creating with 44,6%.Keywords: Higher order thinking skill, probing-prompting technique

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of errors and the factors that cause students to mistake in solving word problems with Fong's Schematic Model for Error Analysis on the material system of three-variable linear equations. This research uses a qualitative research approach. The study participants consisted of 3 high school grade X students in one of the high school in Kuningan. Subjects in the study were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Research data collection using the method of documentation, tests, and interviews. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation techniques, by collecting different data to get data from the same source through tests, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the types of students' mistakes in solving word problems are operational errors and mathematical themes. Factors causing student errors include: the rush to immediately solve a problem, the lack of accuracy, the habit of working on the problem, forgetting, lack of understanding of the problem, and lack of understanding of the material.

Abstract

Problem solving is a process to fix the difficulties encountered the achievement a goal to be achieved. To improve the ability of problem solving mathematical, one of them by learning to use the Open-Ended approach. Open-Ended approach to discuss and solve problems with the assumption that the process is more important than the result. Open-Ended approach gives flexibility to the student to put the answer. This study aims to improve students' mathematical problem solving ability after using the Open-Ended approach. To lead to these objectives, this study examines the mathematical problem solving ability of students in mathematics learning with the Open-Ended approach in every cycle. This research was conducted by the method of action research with research subjects students of class IX MTs Special Program. Darussalam Ciamis, the number of students as subject is 22 students. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet that covers the activities of teachers and students; formative test and posttest to measure students' mathematical problem solving ability. The results of this study are mathematical problem solving ability of students in each cycle is good, as well as the completeness of classical study categorized either. Abstract

This study aims to describe students' self-regulated learning level and students' mathematical connection ability for each self-regulated learning level. The topic used is quadrilateral. This is qualitative research with descriptive method. Study took place at Desa Ancaran Kec./ Kab. Kuningan, West Java, with subjects consisting of six seventh grade SMP/MTs students. Data is collected using questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. Questionnaire and mathematical connection ability tests were given to all six subjects. After collecting data, analysis is performed with steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result shows that out of six subjects, 1 student is classified high in self-regulated learning category and 5 other students are classified average in self-regulated learning category. Out of three selected subjects, 1 student with high level of self-regulated learning has connection ability in good category, while 2 students with average level of self-regulated learning have mathematical connections in sufficient category. Student with high level of self-regulated learning can fulfill three of the five indicators of mathematical connection ability, 1 student with average self-regulated learning can fulfill two indicators, and 1 student with other self-regulated learning can fulfill one indicator of mathematical connection.Keywords: Mathematical Connection Ability, Self-Regulated Learning, Quadrilateral

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find a model and effective media of learning to the teach materials of the straight-line for students Cambridge program increases activity and learning outcomes in the SMP Al Izzah Batu by applying the model of inquiry learning and team teaching with media blog. This classroom action research conducted through two cycles and in each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation and  reflection. Being to enable the students in this study, researchers used a media blog and work sheets given to students in the group. Subjects in the study of this class action is students  graders 8C Cambridge program Junior High School Al Izzah Batu being the object is a set of learning materials in mathematics are taught in a way to enable students in the group. From research conducted by examining the initial conditions of students as measured by means of a written test and the results of classroom action research with two cycles seen an increase in students' results achieved  be master in the material equation straight line was given. Increased mastery of this material from the first cycle, students can be increased by 2% from the initial conditions were of the conditions in the first cycle after the action on the second cycle increased by 24%. The results of this class action, the researchers recommend the taker executive positions or  teaching  in this case the teachers to teach the material by applying a set of models of inquiry learning and team teaching with media blog. Keywords: Model Inquiry, Team teaching, media blogs, activities, learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractThis article examines the development of economic  mathematics learning materials based on learning cycle assisted by GeoGebra software to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study: 1) Obtaining the economic mathematics teaching materials developed in according with the principle of model learning cycle 5E; 2) Obtaining the developed economic mathematics material meets the valid and practical criteria; 3) Obtaining the mathematical materials of the developed mathematics economy can improve student learning outcomes. Stages or procedure research development that is requirement analysis; product development (teaching materials); expert validation and product revision; small-scale field trials. The results obtained in this study: 1) have developed economic mathematics learning materials based on learning cycle assisted GeoGebra software 2) Based on the validator's assessment, economic mathematics based on based learning cycle assisted GeoGebra software in good category with percentage of idealization of 77.96%. 3) Based on field trials, teaching materials that are developed the economic mathematics learning materials based on learning cycle assisted GeoGebra software can improve student learning outcomes. Abstract

The background of this research is the learning obstacle on the material of the VII grade MTs algebraic operating material. This study aims to describe how the design of didactic teaching materials based on the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students in class VII. Subjects in this study were students of MTs PUI Majalengka, 28 students of class VII A to identify learning obstacles and 10 students of class VII A were used as samples for the implementation of teaching materials. The research carried out was a didactic design research consisting of three stages, namely: (1) didactic situation analysis prior to learning in the form of a Didactic Design Hypothesis including ADP, (2) methadactic analysis, and (3) retrosfective analysis. How to collect data by tests, validation of teaching materials, and student questionnaire responses. The results showed that there were three types of obstacle learning. The validation results obtained can be concluded that teaching materials based on students' mathematical connection abilities can be used in learning algebraic form operations. The implementation of this didactic design is in accordance with predictions so that the design of this teaching material can be used as an alternative design of learning algebraic operations learning.
