Abstract

This research aims describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts based on their cognitive level. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The subjects were selected by 3 students based on their cognitive level using purposive sampling technique, obtained one student in the high, medium and low categories. Data collection through tests, interviews, and documentation analyzed through stages of data reduction, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Based on results of data analysis, it found that students' ability to understand mathematical quadrilateral is cognitive level high and moderate are able to solve problems on indicators providing examples and not examples of a concept. And students a high cognitive level are able to solve problems on indicators restating a concept. Meanwhile, students a low cognitive level were unable to solve any of questions. So students at high, medium and low cognitive levels are unable to solve problems on the indicators of classifying objects according to certain properties according to the concept, and applying the concept of algorithms in problem solving. So can concluded that ability to understand the mathematical concepts of the material of sagiempat flat is low.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to produce material of quadratic equations supported by quick, appealing, and easy formula for students. The Method of This research is Research and Development Procedure ( R D)  from Brog and Gall which is adopted by Sucipto that is up to the seventh stage, such as: potential problem, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, and product revisions. The subject of this research is one of high school students in Bandar Lampung. The data collection was obtained from the validation of the instruments as well as trials of small group and large group products. This researchs analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The products produced through the validation of the feasibility of  the material expert validator team, the media expert, the linguist and the mathematic teacher and the language teacher obtained the criteria "Very worthy of use". furthermore on the aspects of small group and large group product trial obtained the criteria "Very easy and very interesting for students". Based on the results of assessment of responses by experts, teachers, and student responses it can be concluded that the material module of quadratic equations aided by the formula is quickly categorized very feasible, very interesting, and very easy for students.Keywords: Teaching Materials, Quadratic Equations, Quick Formulas

Abstract

The background of this research was based on students’ lack of mathematical connection ability in learning. The aim of this research was to determine students’ mathematical connection ability through Two-Stay Two-Stray learning model assisted by Geogebra application was better than that on cube and cuboid subject. The type of this research was Experimental and Design of Intact-Group Comparison Research. The sampling technique of this research used Cluster Random Sampling and students of grade VIII D, VIII E, VIII F in SMP Negeri 3 Slawi were chosen as the samples. The technique of collecting data used interview, documentation, and test. The result of this research showed that students’ mathematical connection ability through Two-Stay Two-Stray learning model assisted by Geogebra application was better than that without Geogebra application proven by the t-test.

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the difficulties of students in the proof using mathematical induction as well as efforts to resolve it using the Scaffolding. Scaffolding is providing assistance given by teachers or peers who are more capable to students so that they can reach their potential level. This study uses a qualitative research design types of case studies, where data is obtained in the form of observations sheet test and an interview with the subject. The subject is based on the results of diagnostic tests that are classified according to type of error is then taken of each group of students as subjects. Based on the research, found the location of the difficulties experienced by students in the proof of proposition using mathematical induction, namely the difficulty in manipulating algebra to show the truth of Pk + 1. Of these difficulties, students are given the scaffolding in accordance with the difficulties faced by each student. Depth scaffolding scaffolding provided is a second level that is explaining, reviewing and restructuring and third tiers of scaffolding that is developing conceptual thinking. The advice given by researchers is the teacher must give emphasis or affirmation special steps to make assumptions and define a form Pk + 1, the student must master the other concepts that relate to a given problem, so as to make the connection between Pk and Pk +1, and similar studies should be conducted with more depth on other types of problems, such as conjecture. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: (1)Ada tidaknya perbedaan antara prestasi belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran open-ended dan prestasi belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning, (2)Prestasi belajar matematika siswa manakah yang paling efektif antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning pada siswa yang memiliki kreativitas rendah, (3)Prestasi belajar matematika siswa manakah yang paling efektif antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning pada siswa yang memiliki kreativitas tinggi. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 303 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket kreativitas belajar matematika dan tes prestasi belajar matematika. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t dua pihak, uji t satu pihak. Hasil penelitian:(1) terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning, (2)prestasi belajar matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended lebih efektif daripada siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning ditinjau dari kreativitas rendah, (3)prestasi belajar matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended lebih efektif atau sama dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning ditinjau dari kreativitas tinggi.

Abstract

This type of research is a development or RD which aims to produce a product in the form of quadrilateral learning media based on Adobe Flash CS6 with a valid Contextual Teaching and Learning approach ti facilitate the mathematical connection ability. This study is the research, development model of plomp with consist of three phase is preliminary research, prototyping phase and assessment phase. The instrument used to data collection in this study were questionnaire of epert validation learning media. The device develoved was validated by three validators including two lecture and one teacher junior high school. From the resulting validation data the average score from three validator is 3,4 which means that the learning media is in the valid category with the value obtained is B which means that the learning media can be used with a little revision

Abstract

Abstact Textbooks have an important role in the learning process. In addition as a reference material, also have the potential to affect student learning. In this study, carried out a survey of mathematics education students. Students were asked to describe how they used textbooks. The survey was conducted by giving questionnaires and interviews about what components are used, when students look at each component, the reason for these components as well as the students see what difficulties encountered when used textbook. Data collected was processed using descriptive statistics as well as to determine there are differences in the use of good text books for each component or components in pairs using Cochran’s Q test and McNemar Test. The result show that students tend to use the sample chapter to build their understanding of math concept than the chapter text description. Difficulties experienced when students understand basic concepts such as definitions and theorems which causes difficulty in working on.

Abstract

Background of The research by learning outcome student which still many below Complete Criterion Minimize (CCM). Other than that study process only predominated by group owning high ability. Purpose of this research are to know do there are influence model discovery learning accompanied active learning strategy of teka-teki silang type to learning outcome student of VII class SMP Negeri 9 Batanghari. Design of this research is pre-eksperimen research with research design of pre-test and post-test group.  The population in research was all student of  VII class SMP Negeri 9 Batanghari. Technique intake of sampel use Purposive Sampling, selected as class of sampel is VII B class. The research Instrument is pre-test and post-test form essay. Technique analyse of pre-test and post-test the used t test one side. Result of this result was learning outcome student after using model discovery learning accompanied active learning strategy of teka-teki silang type better of mean learning outcome of student before using model discovery learning accompanied active learning strategy of teka-teki silang type.

Abstract

Abstrak Eksperimen kontrol grup  pretes postes untuk mengetahui kemampuan penalaran dan disposisi matematis. Penelitian melibatkan 72 orang siswa kelas VII SMP di Ciamis. Penelitian menemukan bahwa siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran MI lebih baik dari pada siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran.  MI meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran siswa, peningkatannya lebih baik dari pada yang konvensional. Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis pada siswa yang menggunakan MI berdasarkan kategori KAM. Penemuan lainnya adalah mengajar dengan MI lebih baik  dari pada konvensional terhadap disposisi siswa. Kata Kunci : MI, Penalaran Matematis, Disposisi.
