Abstract

Abstract

Science and social learning in elementary schools is still dominated by conventional methods with limited integration of digital technology, resulting in suboptimal conceptual understanding among students. Abstract topics such as human body organs require interactive visual media to support more concrete and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze, develop, and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of augmented reality–based animated video media to enhance fifth-grade students’ conceptual understanding of science and social learning. The research employed a Research and Development method using the ADDIE model with a one-group pretest–posttest design. Research subjects included 2 material experts, 2 media experts, 2 teachers, and 23 students. Data were collected through validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and concept understanding tests. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative and inferential statistics, including Shapiro-Wilk normality testing and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the developed media achieved high validity scores from material experts (3.83) and media experts (3.72), and high practicality scores from teachers (3.72) and students (3.94). Effectiveness testing indicated a significant improvement in conceptual understanding with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Statistically, the improvement was confirmed by the paired sample t-test result of t(22) = 6.450, which was significant (p < 0.05). In conclusion, augmented reality–based animated video media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding. The study implies that integrating augmented reality technology can serve as an innovative interactive learning strategy to improve the quality of elementary science and social learning.

Abstract

Access to communication is a fundamental right of every individual, including the speech-impaired community, which often faces limitations in social interaction. This study designs a real-time system that transforms sign language alphabet gestures into speech by utilizing Computer Vision and Deep Learning technologies. A sign language alphabet dataset is processed using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to recognize visual hand patterns representing letters A–Z. The trained model is then integrated with OpenCV and Mediapipe for real-time hand gesture detection and connected to a speech synthesis engine so that the recognized letters can be automatically spoken. The results demonstrate the system’s potential as a basic communication bridge that supports digital inclusion for the speech-impaired community. From a sustainable development perspective, this innovation is relevant to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), as it enables more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable social interaction in the era of digital transformation. This innovation can also serve as a foundation for further development toward an automatic sign language translator capable of recognizing full words and complete sentences. Consequently, this system has strong potential to become a practical solution for ensuring equal access to communication across various sectors, including education, public services, and the workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of compensation and transformational leadership on employees’ career satisfaction in a banking institution. The research is motivated by the growing importance of sustainable human resource management in the highly competitive and performance-driven banking sector. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method with structured questionnaires. The sample consisted of 100 employees selected as respondents. Compensation was measured using 10 items, transformational leadership using 8 items, and career satisfaction using 14 items, all assessed through a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests, including normality, heteroscedasticity, and multicollinearity tests. The results indicate that compensation and transformational leadership have a positive and significant effect on employees’ career satisfaction. Compensation was found to be the most dominant factor influencing career satisfaction compared to transformational leadership. These findings suggest that fair and transparent compensation systems, along with inspirational and supportive leadership practices, play a crucial role in enhancing employees’ perceptions of career satisfaction. This study provides practical implications for banking management in developing sustainable human resource policies that support long-term career development and employee well-being.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has boosted standard of living among societies. This research tries to find the impact of manufacture growth in information technology on Indonesia’s economic growth. It is a time series analysis with data from the 1st quarter 1994 until 3th quarter 2016. Data used are GDP (Gross Domestic Products), the exchange rate rupiah over USD, and manufacture in information technology. The method of VECM is used to describe bi-directional relationship among variables, and it also enables us to pose endogenity with the exception to specific variable. Empirical results conclude that manufacture’s growth in the information technology has a significantly positive influence on Indonesia’s economic growth, both in the short-term and the long-term. Meanwhile variable exchange rate only has influence in the short term, not in the long term. This finding suggests that the improvement of information technology can boost economic growth nicely. Indonesia as a developing country, should tackle good regulation and promote innovation in this sector to face strict global competitiveness. Innovation in information technology is a high-cost project, so all requirements must be provided proportionally and put it as the top priority. By improving manufactures in information technology, many jobs can be opened; to recruit new employees. This will decrease the unemployment and poverty rates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the initial profile of high school students' creative thinking skills in biology learning. The research is descriptive quantitative research using an open-ended test method. The subjects of this study were tenth-grade high school students. The results of the analysis show that the average creative thinking skills of high school students is 37.85%, which is classified as not creative. Specifically, the lowest percentages were found in the aspects of originality, elaboration, and flexibility, while the aspect of fluency showed relatively higher achievements. The conclusion of this study is that the profile of students' creative thinking skills in biology learning is low. These findings indicate that the dominance of convergent learning through closed questions and student passivity in class are factors that inhibit the development of divergent thinking potential. Therefore, it is necessary to apply active learning models and use more exploratory evaluation instruments to stimulate students' ability to produce unique, flexible, and in-depth ideas.
