Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of character-based learning strategies in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in shaping students’ character through modeling, habituation, and contextual approaches adapted to students’ needs. The applied learning strategies emphasize not only cognitive development but also the integration of spiritual, social, and emotional values. The main challenges in implementing these strategies include limited environmental support and inconsistency in applying character values outside the classroom. Nevertheless, through collaboration among teachers, parents, and the school environment, students’ religious character formation and learning motivation significantly improve. This research contributes to strengthening character education practices within the context of modern Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between digital literacy understanding and digital citizenship behavior among Generation Z students in the Pancasila and Civic Education program at Yogyakarta State University. Using a qualitative case study approach, research subjects were selected purposively, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with the help of interview guides, observation sheets, and document checklists. Data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation, while data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Gen Z students generally have a good understanding of digital literacy and digital citizenship, yet still exhibit weaknesses in critical thinking, privacy awareness, and media ethics. Their digital behavior reflects active use of technology for learning, communication, and digital participation, but it is not consistently accompanied by responsible digital practices, especially regarding personal data security and legal awareness. Digital literacy positively influences digital citizenship by enhancing information access, creativity, and participation in online public discussions. However, inadequate digital literacy also increases risks such as exposure to negative content, hoaxes, hate speech, and cyberbullying, indicating that technological progress without digital competence can worsen digital citizenship behavior.

Abstract

This research examines the entrepreneurial behavior of coffee farmers in Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative design, data were collected from 100 farmers through structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, and subsequently analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that both individual characteristics and the business environment significantly influence entrepreneurial behavior, with the business environment exerting the strongest effect. Farmers’ entrepreneurial behavior was generally categorized as high, reflected in dimensions such as innovativeness, risk-taking, persistence, and independence. Conversely, individual and environmental factors were assessed at a moderate level, suggesting that institutional and structural support remain limited. The study highlights the importance of strengthening extension services, market access, financial facilities, and farmer organizations to enhance entrepreneurial capacity and ensure the sustainability of coffee farming systems. These findings provide empirical evidence on the dynamics of entrepreneurial behavior in rural agribusiness contexts and offer policy insights for promoting competitiveness in Indonesia’s coffee sector.

Abstract

The WTO DS467 dispute over tobacco plain packaging policy questions whether the right to brand cigarettes is more important than public health. This research uses an interdisciplinary normative legal approach to analyze the Panel and Appellate Body reports of DS467 through critical deconstruction. Drawing on the methods of domination (MacKinnon), asking the marginalized question (Bartlett), and the concept of juridical silencing (Finley), as well as a dogmatic-conceptual study of Article 20 TRIPS and the Ethics of Care, this research finds that the interpretation of Article 20 TRIPS is driven by commercial interests that place brand rights in a privileged position, while communal suffering and health—especially the burden of care borne by many women—are reduced to technical data. The findings reveal that WTO legal reasoning systematically marginalizes humanitarian perspectives by prioritizing abstract market logic over the lived experiences of caregivers and health workers. This research offers a prescriptive rereading of Article 20 TRIPS, in which the right to health and state sovereignty should be the normative priority, so that restrictions on the use of brands to protect public health can be justified, with the burden of proof shifted to the brand owner. The implications of this study extend beyond the DS467 case, suggesting that feminist jurisprudence can provide a transformative framework for reinterpreting international trade law to better align with human rights principles and dignity. This reading aims to shift the international trade regime from the dominance of market logic to the upholding of communal well-being and human dignity.

Abstract

The palm oil industry produces large volumes of palm kernel shell (PKS) solid waste, most of which has been utilized as biomass, but some of which has the potential to increase greenhouse gas emissions if not managed optimally. Pyrolysis of PKS to biochar offers a sustainable solution to reduce environmental impacts while producing value-added products. This study aims to compare various pyrolysis methods and operational conditions used in the conversion of PKS and other palm oil wastes, and to identify the main results, applications, and environmental benefits of each approach. The findings of this study are that the optimal conditions for biochar production are slow pyrolysis (400–600°C, 30–90 minutes residence time) with a yield of 33–52%. Biochar can be applied in Soil Improvement and Agriculture Increasing soil fertility and carbon sequestration (CSP 0.63 kgCO?/kg PKS), Air Treatment and Pollutant Adsorption, Energy and Fuel (made into briquettes), Health and Safety (Reducing environmental toxicity), Industrial and Material Applications (Raw material for activated carbon production). Comparing to inceneration and gasification, pyrolysis of PKS offers superior environmental sustainability when biochar is sequestered or utilized in high-value applications. Its dual benefits of renewable energy recovery and carbon storage address both immediate energy needs and long-term climate change mitigation.

Abstract

Indonesia has set a target to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 and a 52% renewable energy share by 2030. Geothermal energy, with 29.5 GW potential, is critical, yet environmental performance of technologies remains poorly characterized, hindering sustainable decisions. This systematic review analyzes life cycle assessment (LCA) studies on binary, flash, and dry steam geothermal technologies. Scopus and Google Scholar searches using keywords "geothermal power plant" and "life cycle assessment" yielded 30 studies (2013–2025). Environmental burdens vary by technology, geology, design, and operations. Binary systems face high impacts from drilling, steel construction, and working-fluid leakage (up to 64% of global warming potential). Flash systems show major CO? and H?S emissions, reducible by 78% via abatement or hybrid flash-binary setups. Dry steam plants are dominated by non-condensable gas (NCG) emissions unless hybridized with Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) or Combined Heat and Power (CHP), shifting hotspots to construction. Findings offer Indonesia actionable insights: select cleaner configurations, optimize drilling, deploy emission controls, and prioritize low-global-warming-potential fluids. This synthesis of site-specific LCAs creates a framework identifying hotspots and pathways, supporting evidence-based policies for sustainable geothermal expansion in Indonesia's energy transition.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which internal factors, external factors, transformation strategy, and organizational alignment influence the success of WIKA’s transformation agenda. An explanatory quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), based on responses from 134 employees and structural officials directly involved in the transformation process. The study investigates five latent constructs: Internal Factors, External Factors, Transformation Strategy (sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring), Organizational Alignment (structural, process, cultural, and team-based consistency), and Transformation Success (financial and non-financial performance). Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS through a comprehensive evaluation of both the measurement and structural models. The empirical results indicate that both internal and external factors serve as significant drivers of transformation strategy. Furthermore, transformation strategy exerts a substantial direct effect on organizational alignment, which functions as a critical mediating mechanism linking strategic direction to transformation success. Organizational alignment is also proven to have a strong direct impact on overall transformation performance, underscoring the importance of aligned structural design, cultural readiness, and human resource capabilities as prerequisites for successful change. This study enriches the theoretical discourse on organizational transformation in State-Owned Enterprises by integrating the perspectives of dynamic capabilities, strategic alignment, and change management. Practically, the findings offer actionable insights for WIKA and similar SOEs in formulating integrated, capability-oriented transformation roadmaps grounded in organizational culture.
