Abstract

Conflict-affected rural microfinance institutions (MFIs) face significant challenges, such as data scarcity and repayment volatility, which limit their sustainability and outreach. Despite the growing interest in digital technologies, no prior empirical study has evaluated the impact of Digital Financial Twin (DFT) analytics in Shariah-compliant MFIs operating in conflict zones. This study integrates cyber-physical simulation with Islamic microfinance practices to provide the first large-scale evidence on the impact of DFT analytics on financial and poverty outcomes. Using a quasi-experimental design, we combine geospatial conflict data (from ACLED), loan-level records from five Islamic MFIs (N = 48,360 loans across 120 rural districts), and the UNDP Multidimensional Poverty Index. The methods used include multivariate logistic regressions, structural equation modeling (SEM), and GIS mapping, utilizing R (v4.2.2) and lavaan (v0.6-12). Results indicate that DFT deployment is associated with a 5.8 percentage point increase in on-time repayments (OR = 1.27, p < 0.001) and a 5.9 percentage point reduction in default rates (OR = 0.72, p < 0.001). SEM reveals that DFT significantly moderates the effect of conflict intensity (? = 0.29, p < 0.01). GIS heatmaps show that DFT enables sustained outreach in high-conflict areas. This study demonstrates that DFT analytics can improve the performance and resilience of Shariah-compliant MFIs, offering valuable insights for policy regarding digital infrastructure investment in conflict-affected economies.

Abstract

The rise of Millennials and Generation Z as active economic participants in Indonesia has compelled banks to develop strategies to attract these segments. One effective approach is the use of social media influencers, who are widely followed, credible, and cost-effective. BNI, recognizing this trend, collaborated with Korea Reomit, an influencer based in Seoul with a predominantly Indonesian audience, to promote its South Korea branch. Despite the growing use of influencers in marketing, limited empirical evidence exists regarding how influencer attributes, such as credibility and attractiveness, affect consumer trust in banking brands. This study aims to examine the relationship between influencer credibility and attractiveness and brand trust among Millennial and Gen Z consumers. A quantitative methodology was employed using a non-probability convenience sampling technique. Data were collected from 120 participants aged 18–35 who had viewed Korea Reomit's promotional video about BNI. The results indicate that both source credibility and source attractiveness have a significant positive effect on brand trust. These findings suggest that carefully selected influencers with high credibility and appealing characteristics can effectively enhance consumer trust in banking brands. The study provides practical implications for financial institutions seeking to leverage influencer marketing to engage younger audiences, as well as theoretical contributions to understanding the dynamics of influencer attributes in brand trust formation.

Abstract

Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus. Risk factors such as smoking habits and coffee consumption have been associated with poor glucose control and vascular dysfunction; however, their relationship to the severity of DFU is not yet fully understood. The severity of DFU wounds can be assessed using the clinically validated WIFI system (Wound, Ischemia, and Foot Infection). This research aims to evaluate the association between smoking habits and coffee consumption with the severity of DFU based on the WIFI score in patients at RSUD Cut Meutia, Aceh. This was a cross-sectional study involving 188 DFU patients who met the inclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-square test of independence. Results show a significant association was found between moderate smoking and DFU severity (p=0.002). Coffee consumption was not significantly associated with the severity of DFU (p=0.468). In multivariate analysis, no significant effect of smoking or coffee consumption on WIFI scores was found when analyzed simultaneously (p>0.05). Moderate smoking is associated with increased DFU severity, especially when combined with light or moderate coffee consumption. Coffee consumption alone did not show a meaningful relationship. The multivariate analysis did not reveal a significant simultaneous effect of both variables, suggesting the potential influence of other confounding factors on DFU severity.

Abstract

The development of social infrastructure plays a critical role in enhancing societal welfare and reducing social disparities. In Indonesia, particularly in Bandar Lampung, the contribution of religious and cultural values—such as Dharma and Hindu generosity—remains underexplored in shaping sustainable social infrastructure. This study aims to investigate how Hindu charitable practices, including dana punia (donations), cooperative initiatives, and seva (selfless service), influence the development of social infrastructure and to propose a structured framework for integrating these practices into long-term planning. A qualitative research design was employed, combining in-depth interviews with community leaders, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical and thematic techniques to identify key patterns and challenges. The findings indicate that Hindu generosity significantly supports the construction and maintenance of social infrastructure, yet these efforts are often intermittent, informal, and lack coordination. Based on Dharma principles, the study proposes a systematic framework that aligns traditional charitable practices with organized, sustainable, and scalable social infrastructure development. This framework has the potential to enhance the impact of community-led initiatives, encourage consistent participation, and guide policymakers and religious organizations in designing programs that strengthen social cohesion and welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external factors on the purchase decision of bagged cement in Java Island. The research focuses on identifying how consumer characteristics, purchasing power, and brand perception (internal factors) interact with price competition, distribution networks, and promotional strategies (external factors) in shaping purchasing behavior. Using a quantitative approach with survey data collected from cement buyers across several provinces in Java, the study employs multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between these variables. The results indicate that both internal and external factors significantly affect purchasing decisions, with external factors such as price and distribution showing the strongest influence. Meanwhile, internal factors like brand loyalty and consumer preference also play a substantial role, particularly in urban markets. The findings contribute to a better understanding of consumer behavior in the cement industry and provide practical implications for manufacturers and distributors to optimize their marketing strategies and maintain competitiveness in one of Indonesia’s largest cement markets.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the COVID-19 pandemic infected over six million people, causing more than one hundred and fifty thousand deaths. To prevent the spread, companies implemented health protocols, including mandatory COVID-19 risk self-assessments for employees. Summarecon Serpong Company requires employees to complete this self-assessment. This study aimed to examine the relationship between employee behavior—responsibility, discipline, and honesty—and compliance in completing the COVID-19 self-assessment at Summarecon Serpong. The research used correlation analysis with data collected via a questionnaire. The questionnaire employed a Likert scale to measure respondents’ attitudes and perceptions and contained 20 questions, divided equally among responsibility, discipline, honesty, and compliance. A total of 63 respondents participated. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, followed by Spearman Rank Correlation to determine relationships. Results showed a high and significant correlation between all three behavioral components and compliance. The Spearman correlation coefficients (r) for responsibility, discipline, and honesty were all above 0.7. Additionally, cross-tabulation analysis found a statistically significant link between good behavior and adherence (p < 0.001, OR 5.8; 95% CI 2.592–13.036). These findings indicate a very strong, positive, and statistically significant correlation between employee behavior and compliance with COVID-19 self-assessment protocols at PT. Abstract

The Rangang Dam faces a significant risk of flooding due to variations in river discharge, especially in the rainy season with high rainfall. As a mitigation effort, the Kadumalik Dam was built as one of the National Strategic Projects located upstream of the Rendang Dam. This study aims to conduct a hydrological analysis to measure the influence of the construction of the Kadumalik Dam on the reduction of flood discharge in the Rendang Dam. The results of the analysis show that the physical characteristics of the watershed (watershed) greatly influence the flood response. Watersheds with longer rivers (L=130 km) produce sloping hydrographs with a peak discharge (Qp) of 37.21 m³/s/mm. In contrast, watersheds with shorter rivers (L=65 km) showed a faster and sharper response with a peak discharge of 57.81 m³/s/mm. Modeling for the Kadumalik watershed itself, which has an area of 435 km² and a river length of 65 km, resulted in a peak unit discharge (Qp) of 12.29 m³/s/mm which was achieved within 4.97 hours. Further discussion revealed a crucial fact, namely that the catchment watershed of the Kadumalik Dam only covers 12.4% of the total watershed upstream of the Rendang Dam. This implies that although the Kadumalik Dam is effective in reducing flooding from its own watershed, its effect on overall flood mitigation in the Rangeng Dam will be partial.
