Abstract

EFFECT OF INCOME AND TOTAL FAMILY MEMBER ON PORK CONSUMPTION AT RURUKAN 1 VILLAGE, EAST TOMOHON DISTRICT IN TOMOHOM CITY. Study was conducted to evaluate effect of income and total family member on average pork consumption at Rurukan 1 village, East Tomohon district in Tomohom city. Study was done on November to December 2019, using survey method. Study showed that average pork consumption  per  month of the family was two kg. Income of family member affected significantly (P<0.01)  of pork consumption. In addition, total family member affected significantly (P<0.05) of pork consumption. Therefore, it can be concluded that average pork consumption per family per month reached 2.2 kg, significantly affected by income and total family member at Rurukan 1 village, East Tomohon district in Tomohom city.

Abstract

THE  UTILIZATION OF FERMENTATION PRODUCT AND CURCUMA IN RATION ON BROILER PERFORMANCE, AND INCOME OVER FEED AND CHICK COST. The aim of this study was to investigate the utilization level of fermentation product combined with curcuma in ration on broiler performace, and income over feed and chick cost (IOFCC). Completely Randomized Design with 4x2x2 factorial arrangement was used in this research. The first factor were levels of fermentation product in ration (0, 10, 20, dan 30%), the second factor were curcuma addition in ration (0% and 2,5%), and the third factor were vaccine applications (without and with vaccine application). The results showed that there were no interaction among the utilization levels of fermentation product, the addition of curcuma, and vaccine applications on broiler performance. The results also indicated that 10% utilization of fermentation product in broiler ration could increase broiler performance (weight gain and feed conversion). 10% utilization of Fermentation product and addition of 2.5% curcuma in ration could produce higher IOFCC compared to control diet. Utilization of fermentation product, curcuma addition in ration, and vaccine application did not affect ration and water consumption. Abstract

APPLICATION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR CATTLE BREEDING  GROUP IN TUMALUNTUNG VILLAGE  KAUDITAN SUB DISTRICT NORTH MINAHASA. Cattle’s breeding in Indonesia is generally still done traditionally, which the cattle are allowed to feed themselves, while the numbers of grass / forage become less and lower in nutritional value. This will affect on cattle productivity adversely. To overcome this, it is necessary to peform of a grass silage preservation and supplemental feeding using an urea-sugar palm-block (UGB), so the feed remains available all the time and the nutritional value becomes better. Tumaluntung is a village in KauditanSubdistrict of North Minahasa Regency, which produces brown sugar as its main crop. In this village there are several groups of cattle bereeders, among them group Mateluntung I and Mateluntung II.Pre-survey showed that the problems faced by the cattle breeders in this village were lack of knowledge by group members to raise cattle, lack of knowledge to provide qualified  of forage sustainability, lack of knowledge about making silage and UGB. Therefore, we had done an empowerment  cattle breeder groups to increase their knowledge, skills and their income. Method was carried out through counselling and training. Members of the group responded well to this application of science and technology, this can be seen from the availability of elephant grass and dwarf grass. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaan agronomi sorgum varietas Pahat fase soft dough yang ditanam dengan kepadatan tanam benih dalam lubang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 20 satuan percobaan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu tingkat kepadatan tanam yang terdiri dari KT1 = 1 benih/lubang, KT2 = 2 benih/lubang, KT3 = 3 benih/lubang, dan  KT4  = 4 benih/lubang. Variabel yang diukur terdiri dari tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, lebar daun, dan panjang daun. Hasil analisis keragaman menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan memberikan pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, lebar daun, dan panjang daun. Uji lanjut BNJ menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kerapatan tanam KT2 memiliki tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, lebar daun, dan panjang daun yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) lebih tinggi dari tingkat kerapatan tanam KT1 dan KT4. Sedangkan KT2 memiliki tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, lebar daun, dan panjang daun yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) dengan KT3. Dari hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kerapatan tanam KT2 (2 benih/lubang) memberikan hasil terbaik pada karakter agronomi sorgum varietas Pahat fase soft dough.Kata Kunci : karakter agronomi, sorgum Pahat, Kerapatan tanam,

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas telur puyuh yang menggunakan kunyit (Curcurma domestica val) dalam campuran ransum (feed additive).Ternak yang digunakan yaitu puyuh petelur (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) betina umur 5 minggu sebanyak 60 ekor dan per petakan berisi 3 ekor.Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu: R0 = ransum kontrol, 0% tepung kunyit;R1 = ransum dengan 3% tepung kunyit; R2 = ransum dengan 5% tepung kunyit; dan R3 = ransum dengan 7% tepung kunyit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung kunyit sebagai bahan perlakuan dari 3% sampai dengan 7% memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap bobot telur dan warna kuning telur. Berdasarkan hasil dan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan 7% kunyit dalam ransum memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap konsumsi ransum, bobot telur, tebal kerabang telur dan warna kuning telur. Abstract

UTILIZATION AND INTERNAL QUALITY OF EGG ON PAPAYA PEEL MEAL DIET (CARICA PAPAYA L). The aim of research was to utilization and internal quality of eggs on papaya (carica papaya L) peel meal diet. The material used in this study were one hundred laying hens (MB 402). The completely randomized design (CRD) was done in this research for analysing of statistics to five treatments and four replications, each replications was occupied by five laying hens (MB 402). The variable measured were egg weight, egg yolk, colour of egg yolk.  The result of this research showed that egg weight, egg yolk, the colour egg yolk was not significantly different (P>0.05). Conclusion, the utilization of flour skin papaya until 16% in feed will increase the quality of chicken eggs. Kata Kunci: Papaya peel meal, laying feed, the quality internal egg.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF UTILIZATION OF MIX ORGANIC FERTILIZER FROM CATTLE FECES ON TOMATO (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill. L.) FARM (Case study at Tondegesan Two Village Kawangkoan District of Minahasa Regency) The objectives of this study were to analyze cost, income, production and factors affecting tomato farm using organic fertilizer from cattle feces at Tondegesan Two village, Kawangkoan district of Minahasa regency.        Respondents were defined by census method. Data were collected by interviewing mechanisms, direct observation and available documents. Data were based on primer data including land area, workers, salary, total seed, seed prize, total fertilizer applied, fertilizer price, tomato production per planting period, tomato selling price, production cost, income as well as general condition of farmer.  Secondary data were based on the reference (library and internet) or other institutions related with this study such as animal population and tomato farmers. Data were analyzed by different test using t test on pair samples. Results showed that costs of tomato farm using organic fertilizer from cattle feces were IDR 32,936,915 less than costs of tomato farm using non-organic fertilizer of IDR 38,659,431. On the other hand, farmer incomes using organic fertilizer from cattle feces were IDR 43,653,085 more than farmer income using non-organic fertilizer of IDR 34,938,069. The productions of tomato farm using organic fertilizer from cattle feces were 30,636 kg more than production of tomato farm using non-organic fertilizer of 29,439 kg. Using regression analysis of production function by cobb douglass method for factors affecting tomato farm indicated that the variables of workers and seed total affected significantly tomato production with probability of 0.005, while total organic and non-organic fertilizers did not affect tomato production. Therefore, it can be concluded that utilization of the organic fertilizer increased farmers’ income of the tomato farm.   Key words:Cattle feces organic fertilizer, tomato production, cost, income.

Abstract

THE EXTENSION EFFECT ON  PIG FARMERS IN KAWANGKOAN DISTRICT. This research was conducted in Kawangkoan District in March 2020. This study aimed to determine the effect of extension on pig farmers in Kawangkoan District. This research was conducted by a survey method using a questionnaire. Sample was determined by Purposive toward 40 pig farmers. Analysis of the data used in this study was the Chi-Square analysis. The variable of extension, knowledge, attitudes and skills of pig farmers was measured using an ordinal scale. Then by scoring respondents' answers or statements given, several categories of the three variables were obtained. The categorical knowledge variable was increased knowledge, quite increasing and not increasing. The results of the study using Chi-Square Analysis showed that counseling had an influence on the knowledge, attitudes and skills of pig farmers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT THE VALUE OF NITROGEN RETENTION AND METABOLIZABLE ENERGY OF BROILER DIETS WITH MUSTARD MEAL (Brassica rapa L. subsp. pekinensis) This research was conducted  to determine the value of nitrogen retention (NR) and nitrogen corrected metabolizable energy value (AMEn) of broiler diets containing waste of mustard meal. Research used 18 MB 202 of broiler chickens 6 weeks of age that consists of 3 days of preliminary and 3 days collecting data. The experimental wasdesigned by a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 3 treatments and 6 replications. The treatmentswere: R0 = 100% based diet (BD) + 0% mustard waste meal (MWM), R1 = 90% BD + 10% MWM, and R2 = 80% BD + 20% MWM. Variables were nitrogen retention (NR) and metabolizable energy  nitrogen corrected (AMEN) value. Results showed that the NR value was significantly (P <0.05) affected by treatments and the AMEn was highly significant (P <0.01) affected by treatments. HSD test showed thatthe NR value of R1(54,59%) and R2  (41,71%) was significantly decreased compared to control (41,71%).The AMEn value oftreatment R1 (2504.07 Kcal/kg) and R2 (2117.00Kcal/kg) was signicantly decreased compared to R0 (3141.57 Kcal/kg). Abstract

DIGESTIBILITY OF THE ORGANIC MATTER, CRUDE FIBER AND CRUDE FAT IN BROILERS RATION CONTAINING PUMPKIN WASTE MEAL (Cucurbita moschata). A research was done to determine the digestibility values of feed in term of organic matter, crude fiber and crude fat containing pumpkin waste meal (PWM) fed to broilers. The research was conducted by involving 20 unsexed broilers, strain CP 707 at 5 weeks old with an average body weight of 1073 g. Experiment design of the Completely Randomized Designed (CRD) was applied with 4 treatments and 5 replications at each treatment. Honestly significant difference test (HSD) was used to define higher significant effects of the treatments. The treatments consist of 100% basal ration (BR) + 0% PWM (R0), 95% BR + 5% PWM (R1), 90% BR + 10% PWM (R2) and 85% BR + 15% PWM (R3). Results showed that digestibility of crude fiber was significantly affected by treatments (P<0.01), but digestibility values of organic matter and crude fat were not influenced by these treatments. The statistical test showed that the crude fiber digestibility of R0 (56.92%) was lower than those of R1 (63.10%), R2 (67.71%) and R3 (66.30%). Furthermore, there was no difference among digestibility values of  R1, R2 and R3. Based on this research, it can be concluded that pumpkin waste meal could be utilized to replace some parts up to 15% in ration of broilers. Keyword: Pumpkin waste meal, digestibility, broiler
