Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes deep learning, making Project-Based Learning (PjBL) a promising method to enhance students' motivation and learning outcomes. However, at SDN 01 Demangan, diagnostic assessment revealed that only 16.67% of sixth-grade students were in the skilled category, while 72.22% remained in the less skilled category, indicating persistent challenges in motivation and learning achievement. This study aims to analyze the effect of Project-Based Learning implementation on students' motivation and learning outcomes in the Integrated Science (IPAS) subject. Using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, this research involved 18 sixth-grade students who participated in a PjBL project themed "Indonesia Global Expo," creating three-dimensional cultural envelopes. Data were collected through motivation questionnaires and learning outcome assessments covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-tests, and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests. The findings reveal significant improvements across all measured aspects. Motivation scores increased from a mean of 82.39 to 85.44, while learning outcomes improved from 85.28 to 88.22, with a statistically significant difference (Sig. 0.006 < 0.05). The psychomotor aspect showed the most substantial gain, with a significance value of 0.000, confirming the effectiveness of PjBL in developing students' skills. Additionally, regression analysis demonstrated that learning motivation significantly influences learning outcomes (Sig. 0.044). This research contributes empirical evidence that Project-Based Learning effectively enhances both motivation and learning outcomes in elementary education, supporting the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum's deep learning approach and reinforcing constructivist principles of active, experience-based learning.

Abstract

The development of the professional sports industry has encouraged sports clubs to manage brand equity as a strategic asset capable of enhancing competitiveness and organizational value. In this context, sponsorship serves as a marketing instrument that can strengthen a club’s brand equity through the transfer of brand image from sponsor to sponsored organization. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Kelme’s sponsorship on Persib Bandung’s brand equity, focusing on the role of perceived prestige as a mediating variable and Bobotoh engagement as a moderating variable. The study adopted a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique involving 100 Bobotoh who met the research criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that Kelme’s perceived sponsorship brand equity did not have a direct effect on Persib Bandung’s brand equity. However, perceived prestige significantly mediated the relationship between Kelme’s sponsorship brand equity and Persib Bandung’s brand equity. In addition, Bobotoh engagement did not moderate the relationship between Kelme’s sponsorship brand equity and Persib Bandung’s perceived prestige, but it did strengthen the relationship between Kelme’s sponsorship brand equity and Persib Bandung’s brand equity. These findings indicate that improving club brand equity through sponsorship is more effective when it operates through the formation of perceived club prestige, while supporter engagement plays a reinforcing role in enhancing the impact of sponsorship-based brand image transfer.

Abstract

Microsleep is a brief, unconscious episode of sleep that reduces alertness and slows reaction time, potentially triggering unsafe behavior. This condition significantly contributes to workplace and traffic accidents, particularly in high-vigilance sectors. This study aims to identify groups vulnerable to microsleep and the forms of unsafe behavior resulting from it based on a systematic review of literature published over the past five years. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted on 23 national and international articles relevant to microsleep, safety behavior, and fatigue. Vulnerable groups include drivers, pilots, heavy industry workers, maritime workers, healthcare personnel, and patients with sleep or neurological disorders. The identified unsafe behaviors include loss of focus, delayed responses, poor decision-making, reduced safety compliance, and increased accident risk. Microsleep clearly triggers various forms of unsafe behavior among vulnerable populations. Integrated prevention strategies, such as fatigue management and strengthening the safety climate, are essential to reduce its impact on occupational safety.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and the presence of streaming platforms such as Netflix have made films function not only as entertainment media but also as forms of mass communication that represent human emotional and social experiences. As an audiovisual medium, film contains various signs and symbols that construct certain meanings, including representations of loss and grief. John Crowley’s film The Goldfinch depicts the life of Theodore Decker after the loss of his mother in an explosion at an art museum. This study aims to analyze the representation of grief in the main character of The Goldfinch using Roland Barthes’s semiotic approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through film observation, in-depth interviews with three informants, and literature study. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman and was validated through source and theoretical triangulation. The results show that the representation of grief in the film is constructed through visual and symbolic signs, such as facial expressions, body language, dim lighting, room atmosphere, and the symbol of the painting The Goldfinch. At the denotative level, grief is shown through traumatic scenes, nightmares, and changes in the main character’s behavior. At the connotative level, these signs are interpreted as symbols of trauma, loneliness, and emotional isolation. Meanwhile, at the mythical level, the film constructs the view that loss is an emotional experience that can shape identity and have a long-term impact on one’s life. Thus, The Goldfinch represents grief as a complex emotional experience through visual and symbolic signs in the digital film medium.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of power relations in the One Piece anime series, particularly in the Sabaody Archipelago Arc. The background of this research is based on the growing significance of anime as a global popular culture product that not only functions as entertainment but also represents social inequality, domination, and resistance. The purpose of this study is to analyze how power relations are constructed, maintained, and normalized through discourse, dialogue, and narrative interaction between characters. This research uses a qualitative approach with Michel Foucault’s discourse analysis as the main theoretical framework. The data were collected through documentation by observing selected episodes of the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, transcribing relevant dialogues, and identifying scenes that represent power relations. The findings show that power in this arc operates through five main dimensions: power relations in statements, language as a tool of power, normalization of social relations, panopticon mechanisms in statements, and marginalized subjects. The domination of the Tenryuubito is not only shown through physical violence but also through verbal authority, social fear, and internalized obedience among subordinate groups. This study concludes that the Sabaody Archipelago Arc functions as a critical media text that reveals how discourse can reproduce hierarchy, legitimize domination, and normalize social inequality.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology and TikTok usage has transformed marketing communication and consumer behavior, particularly in the fragrance industry. Gatsby perfume faces increasingly competitive market conditions and fluctuating brand performance, making it important to examine how TikTok-based social media marketing shapes consumer purchase intention. This study aims to analyze the effect of social media marketing on purchase intention, with brand awareness and consumer brand engagement as mediating variables among potential consumers of Gatsby perfume products in Semarang. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 120 respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings show that social media marketing has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, brand awareness, and consumer brand engagement. Brand awareness and consumer brand engagement also positively and significantly influence purchase intention. Furthermore, consumer brand engagement significantly mediates the relationship between social media marketing and purchase intention, while brand awareness does not significantly mediate this relationship. These results indicate that interactive, informative, personalized, and trend-based TikTok marketing can strengthen consumer engagement and encourage purchase intention. Therefore, Gatsby should prioritize engagement-oriented digital campaigns to enhance consumer interest and brand competitiveness

Abstract

This study examined the acceleration of rural economic transformation through the integration of digital technology, human resource capacity, sustainable tourism, and Islamic economic principles. The background of this research was rooted in the persistent development gap between urban and rural areas, particularly in digital access, managerial capacity, and sustainable economic structures within village-based enterprises. The objective of this study was to synthesize existing literature to develop a comprehensive understanding of how digital transformation and character-based human resource capacity contribute to sustainable rural economic development within tourism and sharia-based frameworks. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Data were collected from reputable databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, covering studies published between 2010 and 2025. A total of 100 selected articles were analyzed using thematic synthesis to identify patterns, relationships, and conceptual developments. The results showed that digital transformation significantly improved rural economic efficiency, particularly through the digitalization of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) and marketing innovation. However, its effectiveness strongly depended on human resource readiness, governance quality, and digital literacy. Furthermore, sustainable tourism and Islamic economic principles were found to enhance environmental protection, ethical governance, and inclusive economic distribution. In conclusion, rural development is most effective when digitalization, human capital development, and value-based economic systems are integrated holistically. This study contributes a synthesized conceptual framework for sustainable rural transformation and provides policy implications for strengthening digital ecosystems, human capacity, and sharia-compliant rural economic models.

Abstract

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) systems are essential for maintaining power continuity in automation laboratories, where equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, and servo drives requires an uninterrupted power supply. Despite widespread ATS deployment, most laboratory-scale implementations operate without a structured mechanism for recording fault events, leaving operators without historical data for reliability evaluation, root-cause analysis, or maintenance planning. This paper presents the design and implementation of an integrated data logging and fault history system for an ATS at the Automation Laboratory, Electrical Engineering Department, Politeknik Negeri Manado, using a PLC–SCADA architecture over Modbus TCP/IP. Two complementary logging mechanisms were implemented: periodic time-series recording of electrical parameters (voltage, current, and frequency) at one-second intervals, and event-driven fault logging that captured timestamped records upon detection of undervoltage, blackout, and trip conditions. The SCADA platform provided real-time visualization, alarm management, historical trend display, and CSV data export. Fifty simulated fault cycles across three fault categories were conducted to evaluate system performance. All fault events were correctly detected and logged, achieving a 100% detection rate, zero false positives, and timestamp accuracy of ±12 ms. Reliability metrics—Mean Time To Repair (MTTR = 2.31 s), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF = 6.72 h), and system availability (99.990%)—were computed automatically from the historian database. The system transformed a conventional ATS installation into a data-rich monitoring platform capable of supporting quantitative reliability analysis and evidence-based maintenance decision-making.

Abstract

Adolescents’ subjective well-being has become a significant global concern due to increasing psychological stress, academic pressure, and emotional instability during developmental transitions. This study aims to examine the effect of a gratitude intervention, specifically gratitude letter writing, on adolescents’ subjective well-being. The research employed a quantitative experimental design involving high school students aged 15–16 years who were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in a structured gratitude letter-writing activity for five consecutive days, while the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were collected using the **Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS)**, the **Multidimensional Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS)**, and the **Positive and Negative Affect Schedule—Expanded Form (PANAS-X)**, as well as the **Gratitude, Resentment, and Appreciation Test (GRAT)**. The results of independent-samples t-tests and paired-samples t-tests showed that adolescents in the experimental group experienced a significant increase in life satisfaction and positive affect compared to the control group. Although negative affect decreased in the experimental group, the difference between groups was not statistically significant. The discussion confirms that gratitude interventions effectively enhance positive psychological states among adolescents. In conclusion, gratitude letter writing is a simple and effective intervention to improve adolescents’ subjective well-being, particularly in strengthening life satisfaction and positive emotions, while its effect on reducing negative affect remains limited.

Abstract

The performance of civil servants in public organizations remains a critical concern, particularly within the West Sulawesi Provincial Government, where employee productivity is not yet optimal. This study aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership style on civil servant performance. A quantitative approach was applied, involving 277 civil servants selected through proportional random sampling from seven regional apparatus organizations. Data were collected using the **Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ)** and the **Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ)**. The data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression analyses. The findings indicate that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simple regression shows a significant effect with a contribution of 2.2%, while multiple regression indicates that the four leadership dimensions collectively explain 35.3% of the variance in performance. Inspirational motivation emerged as the most dominant dimension influencing performance. Transformational leadership effectively enhances civil servant performance, suggesting that strengthening leadership practices can improve public sector productivity and behavioral outcomes. These findings have implications for leadership development and bureaucratic reform in regional government institutions. Future studies are recommended to include additional variables such as organizational culture, work environment, and compensation systems to improve the explanatory power of the model.
