Abstract

One strategy to improve community welfare is to develop MSMEs and utilize various media, both digital and print, as promotional tools. MSMEs have a major contribution to the local economy, especially in Watugede Village which has natural resource potential, such as the Watugede Raya Embung. This research uses the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which places the community as the main actor in managing village potential. The "Fishing Mania Embung Watugede Raya" activity is a form of active community involvement in local economic development, resulting in increased income from the parking sector and MSME sales managed by PKK women and BUMDes. The research results show that people's welfare does not only depend on economic aspects, but also the overall quality of life. Promotion through the media, including interviews on Radio Republik Indonesia, has proven effective in increasing the number of visitors. Thus, community-based natural resource management can contribute to sustainable village economic development.

Abstract

Generation X (1965-1980) had an important role in the economy of rural families, but many faced obstacles in managing their businesses due to limited managerial and marketing skills. Their empowerment through the development of MSMEs is a solution to improve skills and innovation. One effective approach is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), which harnesses local potential to empower communities. This study examines the application of ABCD in the hidden peanut MSMEs business in Klantingsari Village managed by Miftakhul Karimah since 2013. This approach has proven successful in maximizing local potential, developing managerial and marketing skills, and increasing the capacity of generation X to manage their businesses. Through this research, it is hoped that it can provide a deeper understanding of local asset-based empowerment to improve the economic welfare of rural communities, especially generation X, and create jobs.

Abstract

This community empowerment research aims to enhance the capabilities of residents in Balongjeruk Village, Kunjang District, Kediri Regency, through training in Islamic funeral rites and corpse care. The training addresses the lack of knowledge and skills among the community members in properly handling the deceased according to Islamic law, which often poses social and religious challenges in the village. The research employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving community members in observation, discussions, training, and evaluation processes. The results indicate a significant improvement in the community’s understanding and ability to perform all funeral rites, including washing, shrouding, funeral prayer, and burial. The training also reduced fear and negative stigma regarding corpse care and strengthened social and religious values within the community. Residents became more independent and capable of fulfilling the Islamic communal obligation (fardhu kifayah) in managing the deceased without relying entirely on religious leaders. This program is expected to serve as a model for community empowerment in similar regions. Recommendations for follow-up actions include continuous training, the formation of village funeral care groups, and collaboration with religious institutions to enhance capacity.

Abstract

The promotion of religious moderation is crucial to be implemented in Dusun Gupit, considering the religious diversity among its residents, who consist of both Muslims and Buddhists. Following the "Religious Moderation Dialogue" held in the village, a follow-up activity titled the "August Competition with a Religious Moderation Theme" was organized as part of the 78th Independence Day celebration of the Republic of Indonesia. This event also aimed to reinforce the four pillars of Religious Moderation: national commitment, tolerance, rejection of violence, and the preservation of local wisdom. The activity adopted the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes the strengths and potential within the local community. The implementation showed strong enthusiasm and positive reception from the residents, as evidenced by the absence of conflict or friction among participants throughout the event. The objectives were considered successfully achieved, marked by a high level of interfaith collaboration and solidarity. Moving forward, it is hoped that harmony among residents will continue to flourish, regardless of religious background, as a concrete manifestation of tolerance and a preventive measure against radicalism.

Abstract

The development of students' interests and talents at TPA/TPQ Ad Adawam, Semen Village, is a vital element in fostering a high-quality and competitive generation. This study highlights the importance of a systematic mentoring approach in exploring students' potential, covering aspects of character development, skills, and self-confidence. Despite challenges such as limited resources and a lack of experienced educators, the program aims to create a positive and inspiring learning environment. The research employs the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, consisting of five stages: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. Through these stages, students are guided to identify and plan their future based on their respective interests and talents. The results of the program indicate an increase in student participation in extracurricular activities, particularly in areas such as calligraphy, adhan (Islamic call to prayer), and public speaking. The success of the program is supported by competent educators, relevant curricula, and community involvement. These findings affirm that the development of students' interests and talents brings benefits not only on an individual level but also positively impacts the community by shaping a generation better prepared for future challenges.
