Abstract

This community service project was motivated by the increasing misuse of illegal online lending among youth in Kedungwaru, Tulungagung, driven by low literacy in sharia economic law and limited digital risk awareness. The program focused on strengthening sharia economic legal literacy related to illegal fintech for local youth organizations, which play a strategic role in preventing financial misconduct among young people. The primary objective was to enhance participants’ understanding of illegal online loan characteristics, sharia principles in financial transactions, and digital risk mitigation strategies. The project employed an educational-participatory approach through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), interactive lectures, case demonstrations, and comprehension assessments. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and limited interviews. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of fintech legality, the concepts of riba and gharar within illegal lending practices, and their ability to identify fraudulent loan applications. Participants also demonstrated readiness to act as educational agents within their respective youth communities.

The development of digital technology is driving changes in marketing strategies in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. However, many MSME actors have not yet optimally utilized digital media, especially in product marketing. KKN aims to describe the process and impact of MSME marketing digitalization of crackers through the use of social media and e-commerce platforms at the Lima Saudara cracker production house. The method used is a participatory approach with stages of observation, visual identity design, digital marketing implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity show an increase in the understanding of MSME actors regarding digital marketing, the formation of brand identities in the form of logo and banners, as well as the opening of wider market access through social media and e-commerce. Abstract

The imbalance in understanding regarding women's religious authority and its relevance in contemporary Islamic law remains a challenge in academic circles. A space for dialectics is needed to bridge theoretical and practical perspectives globally in order to strengthen women's intellectual position. This activity aims to optimize the academic community's understanding of women's strategic role in religious authority and the strengthening of Islamic law through collaboration between Indonesian legal clinicians and Singaporean academics. The strategy used is a public education method through an International Virtual Seminar (Webinar). The implementation stages included cross-border technical preparations, dissemination of materials by experts, and interactive problem-based discussion sessions. This activity successfully involved 91 participants consisting of lecturers, teachers, and students. Evaluation results through participatory observation in digital spaces (Zoom and WhatsApp Group) showed high enthusiasm with responsive discussions. The majority of participants (100%) stated that they had gained a comprehensive new understanding of women's religious authority from the perspective of Islamic law in Indonesia and Singapore. This community service program succeeded in creating international academic synergy that strengthens contemporary legal literacy and provides intellectual legitimacy for women's roles in the public sphere and religious authority.

Abstract

Financial literacy is an important skill that every individual must have, including teachers who play a strategic role in shaping a financially literate younger generation. However, many elementary and junior high school teachers still do not understand the basic concepts of financial literacy, especially those related to the capital market and investment. This study aims to analyze the role of capital market socialization in improving teachers' financial literacy through activities carried out by UINSU KKN students. The research method used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of elementary and junior high school teachers who participated in the socialization. The results of the study show that capital market socialization has succeeded in broadening teachers' understanding of the importance of personal financial management, consistent saving, setting financial goals, and starting investments in legal and safe instruments such as mutual funds or sharia stocks. In addition to increasing knowledge, these activities also have a real impact on teachers' behavior and provide emotional and social benefits, where teachers feel valued and motivated to pass on their financial literacy knowledge to students. In conclusion, the capital market socialization conducted by UINSU KKN students plays a strategic role in shaping teachers as agents of change, increasing financial awareness, and encouraging the creation of an economically independent and intelligent generation.

Abstract

The development of students in the digital age presents challenges in shaping leadership rooted in moral and spiritual values. The tendency towards pragmatism and individualism has an impact on weak collective responsibility and low ethical awareness in student organisation practices. In the context of Islamic education, leadership is understood as a mandate that demands integrity, justice, and exemplary character. Therefore, this study aims to strengthen the understanding and internalisation of Islamic leadership values through Student Leadership Basic Training (LDKS) activities.  The method used is an educational-reflective approach with stages of conceptual material delivery, group discussions, case studies, leadership simulations, and individual reflection. The evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure students' level of understanding before and after the activity, as well as participatory observation to identify the dynamics of value internalisation. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of leadership based on Islamic educational values. The percentage of students in the ‘good’ understanding category increased from 33.3% before the activity to 83.3% after the activity. No students were found in the ‘poor’ category after the intervention. In addition, the participants' reflective narratives showed a paradigm shift from leadership as structural domination to leadership as a moral responsibility and trust.

Abstract

The proliferation of extremist religious doctrines has made the reinforcement of moderate Islamic literacy a strategic imperative, particularly for senior santri who are on the threshold of engaging with wider social and academic environments. This program for strengthening moderate Islamic literacy is designed to deepen the santri comprehension of the principles and values of Islamic moderation through a systematic study of Risalat al-Kawakib al-Lamma‘ah authored by KH Abul Fadhol, to cultivate advanced critical thinking capacities, and to solidify their commitment to the ethos of religious moderation. The program involved senior santri from Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan KH Wahab Hasbullah, Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Tambakberas, Jombang. A service-learning approach was adopted as the primary methodological framework, implemented across three sequential phases: pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation. The learning activities were conducted through structured textual analysis and participatory, dialogical discussions. The findings demonstrate a substantive increase in the santri conceptual understanding of moderate Islam as articulated in Risalat al-Kawakib al-Lamma‘ah, alongside measurable improvements in their critical reasoning skills and a strengthened normative commitment to the practice of religious moderation.

Abstract

The waste problem in Karangsari Village is still an important issue because there is no structured management system and there are still traditional practices such as burning and dumping waste in the open. To answer this challenge, Thematic PKM 63 Group 11 students implemented an ecology-based waste sodaqoh program as a strategy to strengthen environmental awareness based on religious values. This approach interprets waste management as part of human worship and spiritual responsibility as caliphs on earth. This service research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a participatory approach through three stages, namely socialization, education and implementation. Students were directly involved in mapping initial conditions, ecological counseling, assistance in sorting waste, and establishing a waste sodaqoh post as a center for collecting inorganic waste. The results of these activities show a significant increase in community knowledge and participation in waste management. An ecotheological approach makes it easier for people to accept programs, because it is in line with the religious values they believe in. People are starting to get used to sorting waste, reducing burning, and understanding that protecting the environment is part of their faith. This program also encourages the formation of a new culture that integrates religious values and ecological action, so that it has the potential to become a model for sustainable environmental empowerment in other villages.
