Abstract

Family is the various units in society, where several people have roles and functions in the family system. Each family member is responsible for obeying and implementing each member and getting involved in problems so that an effective family is created. If there are family members who do not comply with these rules, the family structure will change both in terms of roles, experiences, and identities so that it will cause problems in the family. Problems that arise both from outside and from within the family itself can damage the family system. One effort that can be made to restore roles and functions in the family is through family guidance and counseling with a structural approach. The structural family counseling approach developed by Salvador Minuchin is an approach that can assist counselees in returning the functions and roles of family members to their original state by reorganizing family cohesion and improving relationships that occur within the family. The purpose of writing this article is to find out and obtain an overview of family counseling as a counseling approach in restoring the roles and functions of family members.

Abstract

Family is an important factor in shaping a child's personality. If a family experiences problems such as a broken home, this will have an impact on the psychological development and behavior of the child. The disharmony that occurs in the family experienced by parents certainly has a big impact on the child's life in the future. The impact of this disharmony will be increasingly felt when the child has entered the stage of adolescent development. This is because, at the adolescent stage, children experience development both cognitively and emotionally. To reduce the impact of a broken home situation, adolescents need resilience as a system of resilience from an unstable state (broken home) to rise mentally and personally stronger. Resilience is needed for teenagers who have a broken home family background to be able to get out of stressful situations. One of the factors that can form resilience is self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and resilience in adolescents who come from broken home families. In this study, the research method used was literature study, and the data collection technique used was qualitative research techniques by describing the problems studied and investigated. The data analysis used is the content analysis technique. The results of this study are that there is a very significant positive relationship between selfesteem and resilience in adolescents with broken home family backgrounds by presenting reading resources based on the theory and results of previous research. Keywords: resilience, self-esteem, adolescence , broken home

Abstract

Dozens of years ago, it was difficult to even consider playing video games as a career path. Following immense development in the last decade, esports has evolved into a luxurious, enjoyable, and profitable industry. It has now become an interesting, appealing industry for young people. However, despite the media’s glorification towards the industry, there is so much pressure, obligation, and factors that would turn a seemingly fun and simple occupation into a stressful line of work, contrary to how medias and the public perceives this industry. This article will dive deeply into what is going on behind the scenes, using the study case method, in which the author is directly involved in the esports industry of the Dota 2 game. Following the observations, it can be concluded that esports athletes are heavily affected by external demands, media scrutiny, their daily routine, habits, nutrition, and internal conflicts within the team’s environment.
