Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to businesses worldwide, with the tourism industry being particularly hard-hit. In Ambon City, where tourism plays a significant role in the local economy, understanding the dynamics of souvenir demand during this crisis is crucial for the survival and adaptation of souvenir businesses like UD.N. This study was aimed at determining the Demand for souvenirs in UD. N. Ambon City. We conducted a mixed-methods research approach. First, surveys were administered to tourists or customers Ambon City to gather quantitative data on souvenir demand and preferences. Second, in-depth interviews were conducted with UD.N. owners and staff to gain insights into their strategies and challenges during the pandemic. Data analysis involved both descriptive statistics and thematic content analysis. Primary data was collected by interviewing as many as 40 people. Our findings reveal a significant decline in souvenir demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily due to reduced tourism activities and travel restrictions. The results showed that the Demand for food souvenirs was significantly influenced by the price of souvenirs, consumer income, prices of substitute goods, age, tastes, and future forecasts simultaneously. Meanwhile, tastes and future forecasts partially influence the Demand for food souvenirs. On the other hand, the Demand for non-food souvenirs, simultaneously or partially, is not significantly influenced by all research variables. The types of food souvenirs that consumers are most interested in are sago tumbu and Nona Fitria Nut Bagea. Meanwhile, the most popular type of non-food souvenir is Namlea eucalyptus oil in 100 ml.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to enhance the understanding and recognition of Mucinous Tubular and Spindle Cell Carcinoma of the Kidney (MTSCC-K), a rare renal tumor occurring in less than 1% of all renal tumors. The focus is on improving clinical diagnosis, understanding the tumor's characteristics, and exploring the prognosis and implications for patients. The method used in this research is a case study. The results of this research indicate that Clinical Presentation: MTSCC-K predominantly occurs in women and often presents with flank pain, similar to other renal tumors. However, it may lack other typical symptoms such as significant weight loss or urinary problems. Imaging Characteristics: CT scans may reveal solid masses with patchy calcification, often protruding outside the renal contour. These specific imaging features can aid in the differential diagnosis of MTSCC-K Histopathological Features: MTSCC-K is characterized by small, elongated cords or tubules arranged densely, with interspersed myxoid stroma. The presence of slender tubular spindle cell-like structures is a distinctive feature Prognosis: Patients with MTSCC-K, especially when diagnosed early and treated with radical nephrectomy, have a comparatively good prognosis compared to other renal cell carcinomas. The lack of identified metastases in the presented case also supports a positive prognosis. Implications of this research include: Increased awareness among doctors and radiologists about the unique clinical and imaging features of MTSCC-K can lead to faster and more accurate diagnoses.

Abstract

Pheochromocytoma is a tumor originating from the medulla of the adrenal gland. This tumor is rare and is caused by excessive production of catecholamines. There are three classic triads of pheochromocytoma: diaphoresis, palpitations and headaches. Elevated metanephrines and normetanephrine in plasma or urine confirm the diagnosis. At the same time, radiological examination helps in the tumor's location and the presence of local invasion or metastasis. Hypertension is a health problem that is quite dangerous worldwide because it is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and kidney disease. Hypertension can cause Hypertensive Heart Disease, which is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular disease. This scientific report presents a case study of a 19-year-old woman diagnosed with relapsed pheochromocytoma and hypertensive heart disease with mildly reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. This patient was previously diagnosed at the age of 13 with pheochromocytoma, where the patient experienced symptoms of headache, sweating, especially in the forehead area, trembling hands, and hypertension. Hence, the patient had to be treated. The patient underwent further examination and found a right adrenal tumor, so an adrenalectomy was performed on the patient. Similar complaints appeared again in the patient, and further examination was carried out. Moreover, an increase in plasma metanephrine and normetanephrine levels was found. A CT scan of the abdomen revealed a right adrenal tumor, so this patient underwent another adrenalectomy.
