Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted nations worldwide, requiring a coordinated international response beyond diplomatic boundaries. The pandemic has led to significant changes, such as reduced travel and eco-friendly transportation, increased government intervention, and radical policy shifts like universal basic income and Green New Deal initiatives. The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of evidence-based decision-making and the risks of disregarding scientific expertise, influencing populist and authoritarian movements. The pandemic presents an opportunity for transformative policy changes, with behavioral changes such as reduced travel and eco-friendly infrastructure promoting sustainable mobility and climate change. However, the crisis also challenges the international order, with rising powers and traditional supporters. Urgent reform is needed to strengthen crisis surveillance, prevention, and response. Political scientists play a crucial role in guiding policymakers, but barriers like slow publication processes and divides between scholars and policymakers hinder the effective translation of research into action. Understanding and analyzing the international response is vital for combating the pandemic effectively. This article uses qualitative and literature review research methods. Qualitative research addresses questions about understanding the meaning and experience dimensions of humans' lives and social worlds. COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus disease 2019, has emerged as a significant global challenge and tragedy, rapidly spreading worldwide. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a significant global challenge with far-reaching consequences on various aspects of society.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' interpersonal and intrapersonal skills at Integrated Vocational High School 1 Yaspida, where all students are in boarding schools and SMK Yasti district. Sukabumi, only 15% are boarding houses. The method used is qualitative with case studies. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman technique (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion). The results of this study indicate that the soft skills of students at SMK YASTI and SMK Terpadu 1 Yaspida have the same results; students' interpersonal and intrapersonal skills are not affected by the presence of students living, whether they are in boarding school or not. Yasti Vocational School has a very good program, which can shape student characteristics and develop student soft skills, just like students who are in Islamic boarding schools. The soft skills aspect with the highest rating is the Collaboration aspect, and the lowest rating is on the leadership aspect. This research implies that through the implementation of project-based learning models, vocational high schools (SMK) can create a more realistic learning environment that is outcome-oriented and focused on developing skills needed in the working world and daily life.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand and analyze child marriages in Muslim-majority countries in Southeast Asia from the perspective of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The research design used in this study is qualitative. The research nature is juridical-normative, referring to legal norms present in the legislations of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam. The research results indicate that using the CRC's concept of Child Participation in dispensations for underage marriage, it was previously shown that the concept of child protection encompasses a broad scope (O'Donnell), and the Convention on the Rights of the Child emphasizes that all actions taken concerning the child must be contextually appropriate, for the best interests of the child (Eekelaar). Therefore, this study shows to what extent the protection of children's rights regarding their participation in dispensations for underage marriage in Southeast Asian Muslim countries, is allegedly contradictory to the CRC's definitive provision on the age of the child. This research implies that it can help analyze the extent to which child marriages violate the rights of the child as guaranteed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It aids in understanding how cultural and religious factors influence the practice of child marriages in Muslim-majority countries in Southeast Asia. Additionally, the results of this research could stimulate further studies in the same or related domains.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand and analyze the economic development in Kosovo. The research method used in this study is a literature review with a comparative approach. The results of this research indicate that the state of Kosovo, since its establishment as a legal entity, has formulated rules for its optimal functioning and development, with a special focus on the Economic sector. It is not coincidental that a particular emphasis is given to the Economic sector, as a well-developed economy correlates with a advanced nation. First and foremost, the economy is the best reflection of a nation, and through it, one can gauge the financial capacity of a country and the extent to which its workforce is developed. Considering that the economy forms the foundation of a stable and functional state, strategies are devised for its development. This involves analyzing and evaluating all efforts that can influence the country's economic growth. Therefore, the analysis of the economic situation begins at the central level, and then shifts the focus to the local level, determining which cities can contribute more to economic development. Statistical data on the economic conditions at the local level are based on the geographical area and the population of the municipalities. As a result, in terms of population and geographical area, the municipality of Prizren ranks second among municipalities.

Abstract

According to Article 29 paragraph (1) of Law Number 38 of 2014, nurses have several duties, namely as providers of nursing care, counselors and client counselors, managers of nursing services, nursing researchers, and task performers based on delegated authority and/or tasks in specific limited circumstances. One of the nurse's tasks that receives focused attention is "as a task performer based on delegated authority." According to Article 32 paragraph (2) of Law Number 38 of 2014, the implementation of nurse tasks based on delegated authority regulated in Article 29 paragraph (1) letter e of Law Number 38 of 2014 is carried out by nurses in a "delegative and mandate" manner. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze misconceptions and legal problems in performing medical actions in nursing administrative law. The research method used is a normative juridical research method. The research results are as follows: First, the term "delegated authority" is not accurately used in the context of nurse task implementation for performing medical actions. Second, the more appropriate term is "cooperation." Suggestions that can be put forward are as follows: First, Law Number 38 of 2014 concerning Nursing needs to be amended. Second, the term "delegated authority" in the legal relationship between medical personnel and nurses regulated in Article 29 paragraph (1) letter 3 of Law Number 38 of 2014 needs to be changed and replaced with the term "cooperation.

Abstract

This study investigated demographic pattern of harmful cosmetic application among female salon workers in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. Using a detailed descriptive cross-sectional design, the study surveyed 1200 salon operators across ten institutions with a rigorously validated questionnaire. The main goal was to understand the complex relationship between demographic factors such as age, experience, and education level, and the prevalence of unhealthy cosmetic practices. Through careful analysis of both descriptive and inferential statistics, the study found that unhealthy cosmetic practices were alarmingly common among salon operators. Dibutylphthalate was identified as the most frequently used toxic chemical. The study further revealed that younger operators aged 16-19, those with 4-7 years of experience, and those without formal education were more likely to engage in these harmful practices. These findings highlight the potential health risks associated with the use of unregulated cosmetics, especially among younger, less-educated operators. The study emphasizes the urgent need for education and awareness about the potential hazards of certain chemicals in cosmetics. In response to these findings, the study concludes with a strong recommendation for university authorities to take proactive steps to educate salon operators about these risks. It stresses the importance of adhering to safe cosmetic practices. By doing so, we can promote a safer and healthier salon industry for both operators and customers.

Abstract

This study focuses on applying data mining techniques, especially association rules mining using the Apriori and FP-GROWTH algorithms, for market basket analysis on PT. XYZ is a pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. A quantitative methodology uses a dataset of 100,498 transactions originating from 432,356 rows of data covering July to December 2022 in the JABODETABEK area. Apriori and FP-GROWTH algorithms are applied for association rules mining. The results show that FP-GROWTH has the fastest execution time of 84,655 seconds. However, the memory usage for the Apriori algorithm is the lowest at 482.32 MiB, with increments of: 0.21 MiB. For the rules generated, the two algorithms, both Apriori and FP-GROWTH, produce the same number of rules and values of support, confidence, lift, Bi-Support, Bi-Confidence, and Bi-Lift. In conclusion, Apriori is recommended for sales datasets if memory usage and ease of implementation are important. However, if the speed of execution time and a large amount of data are considered, FP-GROWTH is a better choice because the execution time is faster for large amounts of data. However, the choice of algorithm depends on the specific analysis objectives, itemset size, data scale, and computational capabilities. Results from association rules mining provide evidence of product popularity, purchasing patterns, and opportunities for strategic marketing and inventory management. These findings can help PT. XYZ improves business efficiency, understands customer behavior, and increases profitability.

Abstract

This research paper examines the possibility of enhancing global security by establishing a United Nations (UN) peacekeeping force armed with nuclear weapons. Innovative approaches to conflict resolution and deterrence mechanisms are of the utmost importance in an era marked by geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts. This study's primary objective is to evaluate the viability and ramifications of providing UN peacekeepers with nuclear capabilities. To accomplish this objective, a multifaceted research strategy was employed. First, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to comprehend the historical context, current challenges, and potential benefits of a UN peacekeeping force armed with nuclear weapons. To assess the legal and ethical implications of such an initiative, an exhaustive analysis of international legal frameworks, disarmament agreements, and pertinent UN resolutions was conducted. The implications of this research are intricate and nuanced. A UN peacekeeping force armed with nuclear weapons could enhance deterrence and facilitate conflict resolution, but it raises significant concerns regarding proliferation risks, sovereignty, and global power dynamics. The discussion section delves into these findings, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that carefully weighs the pros and cons and the importance of global cooperation in ensuring a secure and peaceful global order. This paper provides policymakers and academics contending with the evolving international security landscape with valuable insights.
