Abstract

This study examines the effect of bureaucratic simplification on the performance of civil servants in the Salatiga City Government, with work motivation and job satisfaction as mediating variables. The study employs a quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected from 148 civil servants selected through proportional random sampling from a population of 2,883 employees, supported by interviews with five public service users. The variables were measured using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1. The results show that bureaucratic simplification has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, work motivation, and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, whereas work motivation has a positive but insignificant effect on performance. In the indirect model, job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between bureaucratic simplification and employee performance, while work motivation does not. The findings indicate that bureaucratic simplification improves employee performance not only through direct structural efficiency but also through the enhancement of employees’ job satisfaction. This suggests that the effectiveness of bureaucratic reform depends not only on streamlining procedures and structures but also on the extent to which the reform creates a more satisfying work environment for civil servants.

Abstract

These findings suggest that practitioners in the fast-food industry should prioritize price-value perceptions and digital reputation management to strengthen their market position for customers of Richeese Factory in Surabaya. The sampling technique employed was convenience sampling, while data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with the aid of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that all three variables—E-WOM, price perception, and product quality—have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Among them, price perception has the most dominant influence, followed by product quality and E-WOM. These findings suggest that consumers tend to prioritize the perceived value for the price they pay, while also considering product quality and online opinions when making purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Health services require speed, accuracy, and quality in order to be able to meet expectations and increase patient satisfaction. However, in practice, problems in the form of waste are still often found in the service flow, such as long queues, long waiting times, data recording errors, and inefficient manual activities. This condition also occurs at the Nerve Polytechnic of dr. Darsono Pacitan Hospital, which is the main referral hospital in Pacitan Regency. This study aims to identify forms of waste in services at the Nerve Polytechnic and provide suggestions for improvements to improve service efficiency. The method used is a Lean Healthcare approach with the help of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the 5 Why technique to trace the root cause of problems. The results of the analysis using BPM show that the lead time of the initial service is 127 minutes. After the implementation of the improvement recommendations, non-value added activities were completely eliminated, so that the lead time was reduced to 68 minutes, or equivalent to a time reduction of 46.5%. The improvement recommendations are focused on improving the efficiency of polyneural services through optimizing human resources, adjusting the work system, implementing 5S, utilizing information technology, digitizing medical records, and involving medical personnel in improving service quality.

Abstract

Maintaining operational continuity requires effective maintenance of production equipment. The dosing line at PT XYZ experienced a total downtime of 7,597 minutes between October 2024 and September 2025, indicating the need for a structured and data-driven maintenance strategy. This study aims to classify maintenance modules, identify failure root causes using a modularity design approach, determine optimal inspection intervals and preventive maintenance frequencies, and evaluate actual availability against standard availability based on mean time between failure (MTBF) and operational time. The dosing line was divided into six main modules, followed by root cause analysis and calculation of MTBF, inherent availability, and operational availability to determine optimal inspection intervals. The results indicate that failures are mainly caused by material blockages, pneumatic issues, component aging, and programmable logic control (PLC) disturbances. The dosing weight module requires the highest preventive maintenance frequency (71 times per year), with optimal inspection intervals ranging from 16 to 53 days across modules. All modules exceeded standard availability thresholds, with inherent availability above 99% and operational availability above 90%. These findings confirm that integrating modularity design and MTBF analysis effectively supports systematic and data-driven preventive maintenance planning.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of the work environment and job satisfaction on employee performance in the banking sector, with evidence from Bank Sulselbar. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed using survey data collected from 36 employees through a saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that job satisfaction exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance, suggesting that higher levels of satisfaction are associated with improved work outcomes. In contrast, the work environment demonstrates a positive but statistically insignificant effect, implying a limited direct contribution in this context. However, the joint effect of the work environment and job satisfaction is statistically significant, highlighting their combined role in shaping employee performance. This study contributes to the human resource management literature by providing empirical evidence from a regional banking context, emphasizing the dominant role of job satisfaction in driving performance. The findings indicate that job satisfaction has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance. In contrast, the work environment has a positive but not statistically significant effect. However, both variables simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance.
