Abstract

Language is the main medium used by all levels of society. each language will experience its own periodization which will gradually be left behind by its speakers, especially in Balinese. Literature is a good teaching or guide for humans and is a form of creative art by using language as an intermediary medium. Modern Balinese literature, especially short stories, has sprung up among the community which brings a lot of novelty. This novelty can be seen in the use of language that is mixed with Indonesian and English which is called code mixing. One of them is a collection of short stories about the yellow butterfly Ngindang di Candidasa by I Ketut Sandiyasa. In this literary work, there are many code-mixing in the presentation. One of them is in the title of the certification short story, which as a wholeuses more Indonesian than Balinese. In this study examines one problem formulation, namely; What are the faktors that caused the emergence of code-mixing in the Pupulan short story Butterfly – Kupu Kuning Ngindang Di Candidasa by I Ketut Sandiyasa?. This problem formulation uses sociolinguistic theory and language choice theory. The method used is interviews, literature and documentation. The type of data used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research obtained in Balinese Language Code Mixing in the Pupulan Kupu - Kupu Kuning Ngindang short story in Candididasa are due to the presence of 2 influencing faktors, namely intralinguistic faktors and extralinguistic faktors. Intelinguistic faktors are faktors that come from the language itself, while extralinguistic faktors include speaker faktors, place of speech faktors, purpose of speaking faktors, and developmental faktors.

Abstract

This study discusses the morphological process of Balinese words in the Pangkaja Sari Balinese language textbook for Class IX Middle School.  The purpose of this research is to reveal the linguistic aspects in the textbooks of Pangkaja Sari SMP Class IX, especially from the morphological processes including affixation, reduplication, and composition.  The source of the data for this research is the Balinese Pangkaja Sari textbook for SMP Class IX.  The theory used is the theory of structural linguistics.  This research belongs to the type of qualitative research.  The data collection method used is observation and literature.  The data analysis used data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing.  Based on the research conducted, it is known that in the Balinese language textbook Pangkaja Sari SMP Class IX found the morphological processes of the Balinese language including the processes of affixation, reduplication and composition.  The results showed that (1) The morphological processes of Balinese words in the Balinese language textbook Pangkaja Sari SMP Class IX are: Affixation includes the addition of prefixes {N-}, {ma-}, {ka-}, {pa-  }, {sa-};  addition of suffixes {-a}, {-ang}, {-in}, {-an}, {-é}, {-né}, {-n} and {-ing};  addition of {-in-} and {-um-} infixes;  addition of confixes {pa-an}, {ka-an}, and {ma-an};  affix combination {N-ang}.  Reduplication includes pure repeat words, sound change words, pseudo repeats and dwipurwa repeats.  The composition process consists of equivalent compound words, unequal compound words and compound words with unique elements.

Abstract

Balinese literature is a regional literature inherited from the ancestors that must be maintained and preserved by the people in Bali by adjusting Hindu religious values, one of which is Geguritan. One of the contents of this geguritan has a character education message, namely Geguritan Sampik. This Geguritan tells the story of a man and a woman named Sampik and Ingtai who fall in love until they vow to live as husband and wife for life. But when talking about the existence of geguritan in this day and age, it is increasingly receding people know and diligent as in the Ubung Kaja Village community. There are three problems in this study, namely (1) the narrative structure in Geguritan Sampik (2) character education in Geguritan Sampik (3) the existence of Geguritan Sampik in the community in Ubung Kaja Village. The theories used are (1) structuralism theory, (2) value theory (3) function theory. The study was conducted using qualitative methods. This study found the narrative structure of Geguritan Sampik and the study of character education in Geguritan Sampik. The narrative structure in this literary work includes Incident, plot, character and characterization, setting, theme, and mandate. Meanwhile, the character education obtained in Geguritan Sampik is religious, honest, hardworking, friendly/communicative, peace-loving, and responsible. The existence of Geguritan Sampik in the community in Ubung Kaja Village Environment is already receding because there are no performing arts that use this Geguritan Sampik such as drama gong, arja, and geguntangan.

Abstract

Joged Nini becomes the identity of Buruan Village, Tabanan Regency. Explicitly, the meaning formed from joged nini is not just dance. However, the complexity of art, including dance, voice and dance movements, is an important structure in this tradition. All of these elements imply meanings that are interesting to study further. There are many messages about social life contained therein. It makes Joged Nini in Tabanan Village receive an award as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. This research specializes in Discourse fromGending presented in this tradition. It is not just a discourse but is driven by social interests that the community can live up to. This study uses critical discourse analysis from Teun A. Van Dijk. At least it views discourse as a dimensional object consisting of three elements: text, social cognition, and context. The analysis techniques used are description, interpretation and explanation. Understand The discourse text, namely, the text includes: macro structure, super structure and micro structure based on the words contained in itGending Joged Nini. Social cognition includes the geographic structure of hunting village communities. Until the social context of expecting blessings for a ceremony that has been carried out.

Abstract

The Tamblang Waluh tradition is a rare form of culture and is rarely found in other areas. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out an in-depth study so that the sustainability of the traditions, functions, and values ​​contained therein are known. The research method used is qualitative research method so the type of research used in this research is a type of qualitative research using a naturalistic inquiry approach, field study or phenomenology. researchers used observation, interviews, documents, and literature to collect data, analyzed with triangulation techniques and presented with qualitative descriptive. Based on the research that has been done by researchers, it is concluded that the aspects contained in the Tamblang Waluh tradition, including settings, participants, end, act of sequence, keys, instrumentalities, norms, and genres are still maintained today. The sustainability of these aspects directly affects the sustainability of the function of the Balinese language within it, which functions as a sign, as a form of communication of intimacy and as a cultural identity. The Tamblang Waluh tradition is a cultural asset for the people of the Bungaya Traditional Village, as well as a medium for inheriting life values, including religious values, logical values, ethical values, and aesthetic values.

Abstract

Matiti Suara is one of the traditions to complete Yadnya carried out in Ulun Danu Batur Temple. Matiti Suara Derived from two words, namely Titi which means Jalan Utawi Bridge, Suara means Sound and gets the prefix -ma, so Matiti Suara is a sound or sound that becomes a road or bridge so that you do good in life. Ulun Danu Batur. The formulations of the research problem are: (1) What is the Order of Matiti Suara at Ngusaba Kedasa at Ulun Danu Batur Temple, (2) What are the benefits of Matiti Suara for the people in Batur Village? (3) What is the Meaning of Matiti Suara that is carried out at Ulun Danu Batur Temple. The theory used to research this research is Structural Functional Theory and Value Theory. The data sources obtained are based on observation methods, interviews, literature and documentation. After the data is obtained, then the data is analyzed or processed based on data reduction techniques, data display, and data verification. The data obtained based on this research is the meaning of the first Matiti Suara's Piteket, namely Baas Barak Baas Putih, Ané Daak Dados Sugih, the second, namely Mula Kliki, Mula Biu, Mula Kidik Mupu Liu, the third, namely Sampunang Nganggé Kriya Usaha Dhana Prestasiné, and the third four, namely giving or giving Uang Képeng.

Abstract

Social criticism is someone's thoughts about existing problems that are not in accordance with existing norms and goals in society. This research aims to determine the social criticism contained in the short story Ratun Jogéd by Pandé Putu Alit Antara. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and recording techniques. The results and discussion of the research show that the social criticism contained in short stories is social criticism of parents' wrong parenting patterns, social criticism of abuse of love and social criticism of moral deviation. The appearance of the short story by Pandé Putu Alit Antara proves the existence of social inequality in Balinese society.

Abstract

Literature is very closely related to society. As time goes by, many literary works also experience developments that people are not aware of, giving rise to modern Balinese literary works. One of the modern Balinese literary works is the short story. Short story is a type of prose where the content of the story is not a real event and is just made up. Short story tends to be short, concise, and straight to the point when compared to other longer works of fiction such as novels. In this modern Balinese literary work, it can be used as a medium to channel the aspirations of Balinese krama, as is the case in the short story literary work entitled “Mamadu” by Ketut Sariani. Abstract

Partial understanding of religious teachings often makes its adherents feel differences without common ground with adherents of other religions. This leads to an attitude of false acceptance and outright hatred towards adherents of other religions. When the holy scriptures are interpreted incorrectly, it is as if there is an absolute dichotomy between humans who have the same basic characteristics. For the purpose of eliminating this detrimental sense of difference, humans must reach maturity in religion. Every religious follower must keep away bad thoughts about other religions. The aim of studying aspects of cross-religious character in the Geguritan Krama Slam is to remind, since in the past, universal moral values have been emphasized in every religion. Its most obvious manifestation is seen in the sincere mutual respect between religious believers. Apart from being able to strengthen social cohesion, this can also convey the image that religion truly teaches noble values. This research is qualitative because it does not involve processing complicated numbers and measurements. The approach used is hermeneutics, with the aim of interpreting the contents of the text correctly. The results of this research are that in Geguritan Krama Slam, it is emphasized that universal moral teachings must be inherited continuously, there is a unified view across religions regarding moral character, moral teachings are the most valuable heritage, and religious teachings containing moral values must be maintained.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the intrinsic element of Kumangmang Short Story. The research approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative using structural methods. The data source used is Short Story Kumangmang. The conclusions of this study are: (1) the intrinsic elements found in Kumangmang short stories include themes, background, plot, character, characterization, point of view and mandate. These elements differ from one short story to another.
