Abstract

The English vocabulary mastery plays a crucial role in students' language proficiency and communication skills. However, many students struggle with memorizing and effectively using new vocabulary. This study investigates the effectiveness of using Rubik’s Cube as a learning medium to enhance students’ English vocabulary at Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif Roudlotut Tholibin. The research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, following the Kemmis and Taggart model, consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study involves students from class XI, divided into two groups (XA and XB), using a combination of observations, questionnaires, tests, and documentation for data collection. The findings indicate that integrating Rubik’s Cube into vocabulary learning improves students’ retention, motivation, and engagement. The study also highlights the potential of game-based learning in fostering an interactive and enjoyable learning environment. These results provide valuable insights for educators in developing innovative teaching strategies to enhance English vocabulary acquisition.

Abstract

Book learning Al-Ghayah wa At-Taqrib has an important role in increasing students' understanding of concepts thaharah in Islamic jurisprudence, especially in the Shafi'i school of thought. However, in its implementation there are several obstacles, such as the lack of active involvement of students in learning and limited time available to study the material in depth. Apart from that, previous learning methods were still passive, causing students' understanding of thaharah less than optimal, especially in distinguishing between types of uncleanliness and the correct procedures for cleansing. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the book's learning method in deepening students' understanding of thaharah. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, this research was conducted in an Islamic boarding school environment that applies the book Al-Ghayah wa At-Taqrib as the main teaching material in fiqh. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed in depth. The research results show that the lecture, discussion and direct practice methods applied in learning this book are able to increase students' understanding of concepts thaharah significantly. Thus, this research confirms that book learning Al-Ghayah wa At-Taqrib can be an effective strategy in deepening the understanding of thaharah fiqh for students.

Abstract

Character education has emerged as a significant and widely discussed topic in recent years, drawing considerable attention from educators and researchers alike. Many studies have explored its relationship with the roles played by educators and educational institutions. In this context, the contribution of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to character development, particularly in the era of disruption, remains an important area of inquiry. However, existing research has yet to comprehensively address how pesantren actively shape national character. This study seeks to fill that gap by examining the role of character education in the Al-Quranyy Islamic Boarding School. Specifically, it aims to: (1) explore how character education is implemented among students at Al-Quranyy Islamic Boarding School, and (2) identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation. Employing a qualitative field research approach, the study reveals that character formation at Al-Quranyy is facilitated through both instructional content and the exemplary behavior of kyai, dormitory caregivers, and teachers. Furthermore, character education is reinforced through pesantren programs such as extracurricular and local content activities. The study also identifies several challenges and supports in this process: internally, a lack of infrastructure and teaching personnel; externally, the pervasive influence of technological developments.

Abstract

This research examines the strategy for implementing the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum based on local wisdom which was developed through collaboration between Baitul Kirom Islamic Boarding School and Al-Kirom Subing Karya Vocational School. The aim of this research is to analyze the process of planning, implementing and evaluating the Islamic boarding school curriculum which is integrated into the vocational education context. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The research results show that curriculum planning is carried out through systematic stages which include goal formulation, curricular content preparation, learning strategies, and evaluation design. At the implementation stage, the role of teaching staff competence is the key to success, supported by the use of classical books such as Ta'lim al-Muta'allim and Fathul Qarib, as well as the application of the bandongan method. Evaluation of implementation is carried out taking into account contemporary needs of students and societal expectations. The evaluation results show that the integration of the Islamic boarding school curriculum significantly increases the internalization of Islamic values, forms religious character, and improves the quality of students' religious understanding. This integrative model has succeeded in creating an educational ecosystem that is not only responsive to the demands of the world of work, but also maintains spiritual values. This research recommends strengthening teacher capacity, diversifying technology-based learning resources, and increasing inter-institutional networks as sustainable strategies.

Abstract

The ability to read the Al-Qur'an of the Class II students of Madrasah Isti'dadiyah Darul Falah (MIDA) Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung is still considered poor. In reality, in order to be able to read the Koran fluently and tartly, there needs to be gradual and in-depth learning. Therefore, the step taken by the Islamic boarding school is to hold a study of the Jazariyah book so that the students are able to master the rules of Tajwid and Makhorijul letters. So, with this research, it is hoped that we will be able to find out how the learning of the Jazariyah book is implemented in Class II Santri at Madrasah Isti'dadiyah Darul Falah (MIDA) Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung. The method used in this research is qualitative field research. Meanwhile, the data collection technique uses data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the implementation of book learning Matan Jazariyah Improving the Understanding of Tajweed in Class II Students of Madrasah Isti'dadiyah Darul Falah (MIDA) Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung is carried out in two indicators, namely Fluency in Reading the Al-Quran and accuracy in Tajweed. The indicator of fluency in reading the Al-Quran is that students who have the ability to read the Al-Qur'an well have more opportunities than ustadz to be able to continue memorizing the next letter. However, for students whose ability to read the Qur'an is not very good, they are not allowed to continue memorizing until they have really improved the quality of their reading of the Qur'an. Then the indicator of accuracy in the tajwid is that the learning material for the science of tajwid taught to the santri comes purely from the material of the Jazariyah Book, clarified through the sharah of the Jazariyah Book and has been adapted to the students' abilities, so that students who are not very familiar with the science of tajwid will be greatly helped by this material

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the instillation of religious moderation values through the learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in Sidomakmur State Elementary School students, Way Panji District, South Lampung Regency. Religious moderation is an important issue in the context of Indonesia's diversity, especially in forming attitudes of tolerance, balance and respect for differences among students. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, students and school stakeholders, as well as analysis of documents related to the curriculum and learning materials. The research results show that PAI teachers play a crucial role in instilling the values of religious moderation through inclusive, dialogical and contextual learning approaches. Values such as tolerance, justice, balance, and respect for differences are integrated in teaching materials, religious activities, and daily interactions at school. Obstacles faced include limited time, students' lack of understanding of the concept of moderation, as well as challenges in aligning moderation values with students' social environment. The main contribution of the findings of this research lies in the concrete mapping of PAI teachers' effective learning strategies in instilling the values of religious moderation at the elementary school level. These findings provide a new perspective that religious moderation can be taught systematically from an early age, not just at secondary or higher education levels. This research also strengthens the urgency of PAI teacher training in developing materials and methods that support the formation of students' moderate character.

Abstract

Tradition encompasses all inherited cultural practices from the past that continue to hold significance within a specific region. One such tradition is the "Discharge Berth," commonly practiced by the residents of Trimulyo Village, Mataram District, Central Lampung Regency, as a way of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. However, community perspectives on this tradition vary—some support it while others oppose it, each with their own reasons. This research employs a qualitative, descriptive approach to explore the values of Islamic education embedded in the Munggahan tradition of Trimulyo Village. Data were collected through field research involving observations, interviews, and documentation, with informants including religious leaders, community figures, and local residents. The study reveals that the Munggahan tradition reflects core Islamic educational values, including those related to faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), ethics (akhlaq), and social relations (muamalah). These values are expressed through activities such as religious outreach via Javanese traditions, communal almsgiving through food sharing, prayers for deceased ancestors (reading tahlil and Yasin), and expressions of gratitude for the arrival of Ramadan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control over cash flow within PT PLN (Persero) Kendari Branch, a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) in Indonesia. Effective internal control is essential to monitor both cash inflows and outflows and to support the implementation of financial policies that align with organizational objectives. The core issue addressed in this study is the adequacy of the internal control system for cash receipts and the overall effectiveness of cash receipt processes. A descriptive analysis method was employed to assess current practices. The findings reveal that the internal control system related to cash receipts is generally adequate, as evidenced by the clear separation of duties and responsibilities between the account recording function and the cash receipt function. However, regarding the effectiveness of cash collection, the use of the Payment Point Online Bank (PPOB) system has paradoxically led to an increase in the number of customers delaying payments. This suggests that while internal control mechanisms are in place, further improvements are needed in ensuring timely cash collection.
