Abstract

The research aims to analysis of the content of heavy metals cadmium (Cd) in milkfish (Chanos chanos Forsk) from the encroachment of Bima bay at year 2020. The benefit of this study is to provide information related to the content of heavy metals cadmium (Cd) in milkfish (Chanos chanos Forsk) and protect the community or consumers from heavy metal contaminants. The research was conducted in Bima Bay, namely in 2 research locations, namely Malay village, Bima City, and Palibelo, Bima Regency. This type of research is descriptive explorative research—sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Samples of milkfish were taken directly on the pond area of 3 heads in each location. Then the sample is put in the sample box that has previously been washed clean. The research samples were then analyzed of the content of heavy metal cadmium (Cd) using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer tool. The results showed that at the palibelo research site, Bima Regency in PB 1 samples contains cadmium (Cd) of 30 ppm, PB 2 samples of 40 ppm, and PB 3 samples of 10 ppm. Furthermore, at the location of Malay village, Bima City on KM 1 sample of 30 ppm, on KM 2 sample of 40 ppm, and KM 3 sample of 20 ppm. The content of heavy metal cadmium (Cd) in milkfish (Chanos chanos forsk) from Bima Bay exceeds the threshold by BPOM Regulation No. 5 of 2018 is 0.1 ppm. The presence of heavy metal content cadmium (Cd) that exceeds this threshold indicates that the waters of Bima Bay have been contaminated by heavy metals Cadmium (Cd).

Abstract

Traditional mining business activities for processing gold ore in Lantung District are amalgamated using mercury (Hg) from 2015 to 2021 and are still ongoing. On average, there are ten to fifteen logs in each village, the waste being discharged only through ditches or small streams leading to rivers. Mercury that enters the aquatic environment will experience precipitation, dilution, and dispersion, absorbed by organisms living in these waters. Mercury water will be converted into methyl mercury by certain bacteria called biomethylation. In methyl-mercury (MeHg), mercury has toxic properties, firm binding, and high solubility. If consumed by biota, it will experience bioaccumulation in the body, and if consumed by humans for a long time, it can cause various types of diseases up to death. This study aims to determine mercury levels in the rivers and wells of residents in Sepukur Village and Lantung District. The research method is a survey with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling based on the distance from the logs to the residents' wells and rivers. The results showed that mercury levels in the Padesa Village river and springs were 0.002 mg/L. The average mercury level in the Sepukur Village River is 0.0004 mg/L, dug wells are 0.0014 mg/L, and drilled wells are 0.0024 mg/L. It can be concluded that the mercury levels in the springs in the village of Sepukur exceed the standard, and the river is classified in class 3. Mercury levels in the drilled wells of the residents of Sepukur Village exceed the standard, and the dug wells are still within the safe limits of the standard. Meanwhile, the river level in the Village of Sepukur is still relatively safe.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the effect of air pollution due to household sewage on the growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens L.). A total of 12 samples were divided into 4 groups: 3 samples in the group placing planting locations near the sewers, 3 samples in the group placing planting locations near the sewers and giving liquid NPK fertilizer once a day, 3 samples in the group placing planting locations in places with high-quality clean air, and 3 samples in the planting location group in places with clean air quality and application of liquid NPK fertilizer once a day. The sample growth was observed for 90 days to see the difference in growth in each sample group. It was found that the samples in the group placing the planting location near the sewer, both those who were given and those who were not given liquid NPK fertilizer once a day, showed severe shrinkage symptoms in 13-14 days after planting. The samples placed in a place with clean air quality without liquid NPK fertilizer showed growth disorders in the 60 days after planting. Meanwhile, samples placed in a place with clean air quality and given liquid NPK fertilizer once a day showed fertile growth.

Abstract

Washing hands with soap is one of the new habits during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is very important to continue to apply. Therefore, alternative natural ingredients are needed to manufacture liquid hand soap that is safe to use in the long term. Celery leaves contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, essential oils, choline, lipase, and alkaloids. The content of these secondary metabolites has antimicrobial activity. This study aims to formulate liquid hand soap preparations from celery leaf extract following SNI 2588.2.2017. This research is experimental laboratory research that formulates soap preparations with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% and is followed by an evaluation of the preparations based on the referenced SNI quality requirements. This study resulted in an extract yield of 37.12% with organoleptic test results in a thick liquid dosage form, characteristic odor of celery, and green color. In the evaluation test of preparations based on SNI 2588:2017, the results obtained that liquid hand soap preparations meet the requirements. PH for FI, FII, and FIII respectively 9.4, 9.5, and 9.3. In the total active ingredient test, the FI 34.6% was obtained; FII 32.2% and FIII 32.6%. Then in the ethanol insoluble material test, the FI results were 0.094%, FII 0.086%, and FIII 0.112%. Free alkali test obtained FI 0.044%, FII 0.0472%, and FIII 0.0488%. Then the total plate number test was obtained in FI, FII, and FIII preparations; namely, there was no colony growth in samples with dilutions of 10-1, 10-2, and 10-3. The formulation of liquid hand soap meets the quality requirements of SNI 2588.2.2017.

Abstract

The study aims to develop and test the feasibility of a locally developed soap-making module based on local resources. The research method used is research and development (R&D), which is adapted from the Borg & Gall R&D method. There are ten stages of research with three stages of testing/assessment. Stage I assessment by experts (chemistry/chemistry learning, economics/economics learning, language, and graphic design), stage II assessment by peer reviewers/colleagues, and stage III assessment by chemistry teachers and teachers of crafts and entrepreneurship. The assessment results by experts got a total score of 58, which was in the good category. The assessment results by economists/learning economics got a total score of 72, which was in the very good category. The result of the assessment by the linguist got a total score of 57 in the very good category. Finally, the result of the assessment by the graphic design expert got a score of 39 in the good category. The second stage of the assessment by five peer reviewers received an average total score of 69.6 in the good category, while the assessment results by the chemistry teacher and PKwu were 72.6 and 74 in the very good category, respectively. The overall assessment results show that the module is in the good and very good categories; therefore, the module is feasible to be developed and used further. While the results of the assessment by the chemistry teacher and PKwu, respectively, were 72.6 and 74, with a very good category. The overall assessment results show that the module is in the good and very good categories, so it can be concluded that the module is feasible to be developed and used further.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the applicability of learning model implementation, student activities, learning outcomes, students' analytical skills, and student responses with guided inquiry learning models application. The method used is one group pretest-posttest design with 24 students of XI IPA class. Research shows that (1) quality guided inquiry learning percentage during two meetings is 94.44% and 95.75%, respectively. (2) relevant student activity has an average percentage of 94.64%. (3) student learning outcomes in the factor that affects reaction rate material increases with n-gain scores obtained 83.68% in the high category. (4) the results of student analytical skills on each component with a high category n-gain score are element analysis was 95.83%, relationship analysis was 58.33%, and analysis of organizational principles was 79.17%. (5) the student response had very good category results with a percentage of 98.61%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the team games tournament (TGT) learning model with the coglak media of areca nut as a traditional game to train the critical thinking skills of the fifth-grade school students in science learning. This research is quantitative research. The one group pretest-posttest design was applied in this study. The sample in this study were the fifth-grade students at SDN Imppres Mawu in academic year 2020/2021. The instrument used is a test using essay questions adapted to critical thinking indicators—data analysis using technical analysis of N-Gain test data. N-Gain test is used to calculate students' critical thinking skills. Training students' critical thinking skills obtained an average N-Gain value of 0.32 with a medium category level. In conclusion, there is an influence on the team's games tournament model with the coglak media of areca nut as a traditional game to train students' critical thinking skills to be applied to help train students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve student's learning outcomes on chemical equilibrium material through the application of guided inquiry learning used blended learning to determine students’ activities and student responses for applied learning. This study uses observation and test methods to collect data and One Group Pretest-Posttest Design to determine an increase in student learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMA Al-Islam Krian for the 2021/2022 academic year. The results showed that implementation of guided inquiry learning based on blended learning was 98.8%, with a very good category. The percentage of student activity is 96%. The learning outcomes obtained by the students showed an increase between the pretest and the posttest, with an average n-gain value of 0.8 in the high category, and from results of paired sample t-test was obtained by the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.005, which means that there is a significant difference. The results of student responses during learning are 96%. This research concludes that guided inquiry learning can improve students’ learning outcomes on chemical equilibrium materials.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the worksheets developed for the chemical learning of students' reaction rates. This research is focused on the guided inquiry learning model to improve students' science process skills. The research sample was 36 students of class 11 MIPA 4 SMAN 1 Puri, Mojokerto Regency. The research model used the One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The data analysis technique used normality test, paired sample t-test, and n-gain test. The validation results show that 93.3% is valid. An average of 98% of students showed a positive response to the developed Student Worksheets. In addition, students carry out relevant activities with 90.2% when learning takes place. The pretest-posttest of cognitive domains and science process skills showed what usually distributed the data. The paired sample t-test test showed a difference in the pretest-posttest results, and the n-gain test showed an increase in the pretest-posttest. The Student Worksheets Developed are valid, practical, and effective for use in learning chemistry for the Reaction Rate material and can train students' science process skills.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the estimated parameters of the GARCH (1.1) model establishing the prediction of the VaR value, and defining the accuracy of the VaR prediction. In this study, the error in the GARCH (1,1) model uses a normal distribution and student-t distribution. The research method focuses on parameter calculation and the prediction of VaR value within two aspects regarding analytic and numeric aspects. Analytically, the prediction of the VaR value and the accuracy of the prediction of VaR value through the VaR coverage opportunity. It isn't easy to estimate the parameters for the GARCH (1.1) model analytically. Thus, the parameters are estimated numerically using the Quansi Newton optimization method. Prediction of VaR value and VaR coverage probability will be simulated numerically by using stock return data of IBM, INDF.JK and GSPC. The results show that the GARCH (1.1) model can model stock returns for IBM, INDF.JK and GSPC. There is no significant difference between the GARCH (1,1) model with a normally distributed error and GARCH (1,1) with a student-t distribution error in determining the prediction of VaR values. The numerical simulation results show that the VaR value prediction using the GARCH (1,1) model with a normally distributed error is more accurate than the student-t-distributed error.
