Abstract

The crime of money laundering (TPPU) is often related to criminal acts of corruption, where the perpetrator tries to disguise the proceeds of the crime so that they appear legitimate in the financial system. This research aims to analyze the legal regulation of money laundering from the proceeds of corruption in Indonesia and evaluate the effectiveness of its implementation, with a case study of corruption in the BAKTI Kominfo BTS 4G project. The method used is normative juridical, with a statutory approach and a case approach. Data is obtained from legal regulations, court decisions, as well as reports from related institutions such as the Corruption Eradication Commission and PPATK. The research results show that although Law no. 8 of 2010 concerning TPPU and Law no. 31 of 1999 jo. UU no. 20 of 2001 concerning Corruption is available, its implementation is still not optimal. The main obstacles include the difficulty of tracking assets, weak coordination between institutions, and sanctions that have not had a deterrent effect. To overcome this, it is necessary to increase supervision of financial transactions, international cooperation in asset recovery, and the use of technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) for earlier detection of money laundering.

Abstract

Murder and rape are criminal acts regulated under the Criminal Code (KUHP). Murder that results in the unlawful death of a person is regulated under Article 338 of the KUHP, with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. Meanwhile, rape involving violence or the threat of violence is regulated under Article 285 of the KUHP, with a penalty of up to 12 years in prison, as well as under Law No. 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes. Murder accompanied by the rape of a minor is a concurrent criminal offense regulated under Article 340 of the KUHP and Article 285 of the KUHP. In addition, the Child Protection Law is regulated under Law No. 35 of 2014, as the victim in this case is a minor. In this case, the judge will consider various factors, including the prosecutor’s demands, the fulfilled elements, and aggravating and mitigating circumstances. This research uses a normative-empirical method by examining existing case studies. The purpose of this research is to understand the criminal law enforcement for holding perpetrators accountable for murder accompanied by the rape of a minor. The results of the study indicate that the perpetrators can be charged under applicable articles, including Article 80 (3) in conjunction with Article 76 C of Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection. The perpetrators are also proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing acts of violence against a child that resulted in death. The defendant was sentenced to 13 (thirteen) years in prison and a fine of IDR 1,000,000,000 (one billion rupiah), or in default, six (6) months of imprisonment.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a solution for urban agriculture with limited land, but the use of the expensive rockwool as a growing medium increases production costs. This study aims to analyze the utilization of lettuce root waste product as an alternative for growing medium in hydroponic lettuce cultivation (Lactuca sativa L.) and its effect on plant growth and farming cost efficiency. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments: P0 (100% rockwool as growing medium), P1 (50% rockwool + 50% lettuce root waste), P2 (50% lettuce root waste + 50% rockwool), and P3 (100% lettuce root waste). Observed variables included plant height, leaf area, fresh weight, and business feasibility analysis (R/C ratio, B/C ratio, ROI, and payback period). Results showed that P3 produced the highest growth in leaf area (78.12 cm²) and fresh weight (133 g), along with a 7% reduction in variable costs compared to P0. Financial analysis indicated an R/C ratio of 2.48 and ROI of 33%, demonstrating business feasibility. In conclusion, lettuce root waste is a viable alternative growing medium that enhances productivity and farming cost efficiency. Further research is recommended to test this innovation on other crops and promote its adoption among hydroponic farmers.

Abstract

The phenomenon of task jockey services in the academic world is one form of integrity violation that is rampant among students. Although widely studied from an ethical and legal perspective, studies that reveal the motives of task jockey perpetrators are still limited. This study aims to understand the motives and meanings of students in carrying out the practice of task jockey services in the student environment of Singaperbangsa University, Karawang. A phenomenological approach is used to explore the subjective experiences of the perpetrators, through in-depth interviews with informants who have acted as task jockeys. The results of the study show that the motives of the jockeys vary, both from internal and external factors. The motives of the jockeys start from financial needs, requests for relationships, helping friends, and to hone academic skills. Meanwhile, students interpret task jockeys in various ways, starting with jockeys being interpreted as a form of self-development, helpers and also a comfortable job. These findings provide insight into the dynamics behind the practice of task jockeys and can be used as consideration for educational institutions in formulating more effective prevention policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of group communication in enhancing the cohesiveness of the Futsal Valupi Dehasen Bengkulu team. Established in 2023, this university-based futsal team has achieved outstanding performance in various local, regional, and national tournaments. Behind these accomplishments lies a set of internal dynamics, particularly the challenge of maintaining unity among team members with diverse backgrounds and personalities. In this context, group communication plays a crucial role in fostering synergy and effective teamwork, both through verbal and non-verbal means. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving coaches and players. The study is grounded in Aubrey Fisher’s task group communication theory, which outlines four key stages of group communication: orientation, conflict, emergence, and reinforcement. The findings reveal that in the orientation stage, a familial approach and informal communication are key to building trust and aligning team vision. The conflict stage naturally arises from differing perspectives but is constructively managed through open dialogue, routine evaluations, and strong leadership from the coach and team captain. During the emergence stage, players begin to demonstrate emotional maturity, identify shared values, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the team. In the reinforcement stage, communication becomes more open, supportive, and trust-based, which plays a significant role in maintaining teamwork and team spirit. Overall, this study highlights that effective and dynamic group communication is central to forming a solid, harmonious, and competitive futsal team. The results are expected to contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of team management strategies in sports, particularly in designing communication models that support overall team performance

Abstract

Teachers at vocational high schools (SMK) in Gowa Regency are professional educators who serve as role models for students and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of human resources through education. This quantitative study aims to examine the influence of a hedonistic lifestyle and self-control on consumptive behavior among teachers at public vocational high schools in Gowa Regency. A total of 172 teachers participated in the study. Data were collected using three scales: a hedonistic lifestyle scale, a self-control scale, and a consumptive behavior scale. The results indicate a positive and significant influence of a hedonistic lifestyle on consumptive behavior (r = 0.485, p = 0.000), a negative and significant influence of self-control on consumptive behavior (r = -0.516, p = 0.000), and a combined positive and significant influence of both variables on consumptive behavior (r = 0.815, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that while a hedonistic lifestyle tends to increase consumptive behavior, higher self-control can reduce it. Therefore, both variables significantly contribute to shaping the consumptive behavior of vocational high school teachers in Gowa Regency

Abstract

This study aims to analyse and describe the representation of existential feminism in Maman Suherman's novel Re: dan peRempuan. Existential feminism emphasises that women have equal rights in education, economics, politics, and social life. Women have the right to education without discrimination from their families or their communities. This study uses a qualitative method with Roland Barthes' semiotic approach to examine the plot and themes in the novel. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation to identify aspects related to the theme of existentialism. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: identifying narrative structures, interpreting denotative and contextual meanings, and uncovering hidden mythology. The results of this study aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of existentialist feminism as represented in the novel Re: and peRempuan, particularly in depicting women's struggles to assert their existence and agency within a patriarchal order.
