Abstract

Flowerhorn fish (Cichlasoma x Paraneetroplus x Amphilophus) are dangerous to the local ecosystem of Indonesian waters. It is feared that the existence of flowerhorn fish in local waters will become the dominant predator. Based on this study, it is reported that catches of flowerhorn fish in the Sempor Reservoir, Kebumen Regency, Central Java have the potential to become invasive predatory fish. The research method uses the desk study method and field observations by informants. The flowerhorn fish caught in the Sempor Reservoir is a record for efforts to protect the natural ecosystem of the reservoir from invasion by foreign predatory fish. The existence of flowerhorn fish in the Sempor Reservoir must be monitored, mapped and regulated with strict rules so that the balance of the Sempor Reservoir ecosystem is maintained from foreign predatory fish.

Abstract

Stingrays are bycatch (bycatch) in the catches of fishermen in Tarakan City. This is due to the characteristics of the stingrays and the smell of ammonia which causes not many people to use them, even one of the less desirable fish catches. One of the proper processing of stingrays is by processing them into smoked fish, especially in Tarakan City. The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility of smoking fish business in the Middle Tarakan Village, Tarakan City. Data collection was carried out in April-May 2023. Primary data was obtained through observation and interviews with smoked fish entrepreneurs. The results of the study showed that the smoked fish business was carried out in his own smoking house, which was separate from the residential house. The type of fish that is smoked is stingray. The capacity of the smoking tool is 30 kg with the smoking media in the form of coconut shells. The total cost for one production cycle (3 hours) is Rp. 40,000/production; receipt of Rp. 196 million/year and a profit of Rp. 114 million/year. R/C and B/C values ​​were 2.46 and 1.46, PP for 4 days. The results of the smoked fish business are profitable and worth continuing. More and more businesses smoking fish in Tarakan City in the use of fish which are by-catch (by-catch) production is increasing, so as to create new jobs and improve family welfare. PP for 4 days. Abstract

The condition of wastewater treatment infrastructure is very minimal in the city of Tarakan, aiming to develop a strategy for managing domestic wastewater infrastructure in the city of Tarakan with reference to the MDGs targets, namely up to 2015-2019 and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) achieving access to black water wastewater safe, while for gray water it can be in the form of an integrated domestic wastewater management strategy and program in increasing population access to safe black water and gray water treatment by providing individual septic tanks, communal septic tanks, and anaerobic partition reactor WWTPs.It is hoped that increasing institutional capacity and active participation of the community will improve domestic wastewater management so that it can improve the health status of the people of Tarakan City and reduce the rate of environmental damage.

Abstract

Pindang is a traditional processed fish product produced from skipjack tuna. Pindang cakalang is a processed product that is very popular DKI Jakarta villager with a high level of consumption. Skipjack tuna is one of family of scrombroidae which has red meat, skipjack tuna damaged by bacteria or enzymes that can produce toxins called scrombotoxins. The toxic compound is histamine. The danger of histamine in skipjack tuna is included in the category of food safety hazards because it can provide toxic effects on the body, the investigation and assessment of the risks becomes very important. The purpose of this study is the risk in the skipjack tuna screening process in the DKI Jakarta area to control the danger of histamine. This study uses secondary and semi-quantitative data publications using risk ranger. The results of the risk analysis show a histamine hazard risk rating of 62. This indicates the hazard risk posed to the people of DKI Jakarta is included in the high category. The estimated population of DKI Jakarta that can question illness due to danger is 820,000 people / year from 9,108,732 inhabitants.

Abstract

Ponds in Indonesia, especially in Brebes district, usually produce export-oriented fishery products that have high economic value. One of the fishery products currently being developed is vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). The presence of plankton in the water can be used as an indicator of water quality because it is strongly influenced by water quality. The purpose of this study was to estimate the abundance and stability of pond water from biological measurements (variation, diversity, and dominance of plankton) in the Sawojajar vannamei shrimp ponds. The method used is quantitative and descriptive at random. The results showed that the value of the abundance of phytoplankton ranged from 3451 to 6895 cells/mL, with the highest relative abundance being the type of Bacillariophyta. Meanwhile, the abundance of zooplankton ranged from 45 to 525 ind/mL, with Rotifera having the highest relative abundance. The diversity index status (H') is moderate, the uniformity index (E) is high, and the dominance index is low. Abstract

Lebak Petai is a place for fishing by fishermen and auction holders. A continuous fishing system can affect the diversity of fish in these waters. The aims of this research was to identify the type of fish, length and weight of the fish, analyze the species diversity index, uniformity index, relative abundance, dominance and water quality. This research was carried out from July to September 2021. Sampling took place in Lebak Petai, Pedamaran sub-district, Ogan Komering Ilir district, using three sampling stations. The results of the research showed that there were 530 types of fish caught in Lebak Petai, consisting of 13 types of fish belonging to 9 families. The largest fish in length and weight was the Barbonymus schwanenfeldii fish, namely 12-25.5 in length and 21.11- 188.92 in weight, while the lowest fish was the Elops mchnata fish, namely 9-10.5 in length and 5.58-8.5 in weight. The diversity index was classified as medium, namely 2.33-2.51, the uniformity index was classified as uneven, namely 0.92-0.98, the highest relative abundance in Lebak Petai is Trichogaster pectoralis, and there was no dominant fish, namely between 0.9-0.11. The water quality during the research in Lebak Petai, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency was still within a suitable range for fish life.

Abstract

Preservatives are becoming one of the more frequently used food additives. Natural preservatives are needed to replace the use of formalin, which is hazardous to human health. One of the natural preservatives that can be utilized is chitosan solution combined with rice husk liquid smoke. The chitosan solution combined with rice husk liquid smoke with the addition of glucose and the sterilization process will produce a Maillard reaction that functions to increase the effectiveness of antibacterial properties. The research objective was to determine the level of browning of chitosan solution combined with rice husk liquid smoke as a natural food preservative. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments repeated three times. The treatments used were: A0 (1% Chitosan + 1% Acetic Acid + 1% Glucose), A1 (1% Chitosan + 1% Acetic Acid + 1% Glucose + 1% Rice Husk Liquid Smoke), A2 (1% Chitosan + 1% Acetic Acid + 1% Glucose + 2% Rice Husk Liquid Smoke), A3 (1% Chitosan + 1%s Acetic Acid + 1% Glucose + 4% Rice Husk Liquid Smoke), A4 (1% Chitosan + 1% Acetic Acid + 1% Glucose + 6% Rice Husk Liquid Smoke). The results showed that chitosan combined with rice husk had a very significant effect on the browning index value. The higher the concentration of liquid smoke, the higher the result of the browning index produced. The Maillard reaction occurs due to the presence of aldehyde ketone compounds in the liquid smoke of rice husk meeting the free amino acid compounds of chitosan and glucose in the heating process so that the Maillard reaction can take place. The best concentration is treatment A4 which gets optimal results on the brownish index produced.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility of tilapia seed production. Research location in Independent Training Center of Marine and Fisheries Mina Mandiri Muara Enim. The method used in this research is decriptive method. Data analysis methods are cost structure analysis, total production costs, total income, benefit analysis, revenue cost ratio (R/C ratio). From the results of data analysis has total income of Rp 150.000.000,-/month with a benefit cost of Rp 55.236.453,-/month, R/C ratio 1.58/ The results of the feasibility show that tilapia seed production in P2MKP Mina Mandiri Muara Enim is said to be feasible to be developed

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effective concentration of watermelon rind extract for enhancing koi fish immune system which attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. Completely Randomize Design Experiment is used as base research method who has five treatments and three replications. The treatment have been given addition of watermelon rind extract in feed with concentration which are A (0 ppm), B (6.250 ppm), C (7.500 ppm), D (8.250 ppm) and E (9.000 ppm). The observed parameters are clinical symptoms, total leucocyte, survival rate, and water quality. The result of this research indicated that the addition of watermelon rind extract in feed with the amount of concetration between 8.250 until 9.000 ppm could enhancing fish immune system and prevent Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria infection, this could be showed by the enhanced amount of leucocytes are 49,24 and 55,96%, and the highest survival rate shows 84,44% and 71% value respectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan panjang-bobot, dan faktor kondisi ikan seluang batang di DAS Komering, Kayuagung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada musim kemarau dari bulan Juli hingga September 2023. Sebanyak 153 sampel ikan yang ditangkap menggunakan alat tangkap tradisional diangkut dan dianalisis di Laboratorium Perikanan Basah Program Studi Manajemen Sumberdaya Perairan, Fakultas Perikanan, Universitas Islam Ogan Komering Ilir Kayuagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola pertumbuhan ikan seluang batang bersifat allometrik negatif dengan nilai persamaan regresi W = 2.0596.L2.8115 (R2 = 0.9585). Faktor kondisi yang diperoleh sebesar 1,0081 ± 1,1030 yang mengindikasikan bahwa perkembangan ikan di alam masih dalam kondisi baik.
