Abstract

The practice of Islamic inheritance in Indonesia demonstrates a high level of complexity due to the interaction between Sharīʿah norms, positive law, customary practices, and evolving social realities. Although Islamic inheritance law is normatively well established in the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical fiqh al-mawārīth, its implementation in Indonesia cannot be separated from the country’s plural legal system, particularly through the Compilation of Islamic Law (Kompilasi Hukum Islam/KHI) and the practice of religious courts. In addition, modern family dynamics, local cultural diversity, and administrative as well as technical requirements significantly influence inheritance distribution in practice. This research aims to examine the complexity of Islamic inheritance practices in Indonesia through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates perspectives from Islamic law, positive law, and supporting disciplines. A qualitative method with a library research design is employed, drawing on primary and secondary legal materials and a socio-legal analysis of inheritance practices in society. The analysis applies normative and comparative approaches to explore the relationship between ideal Sharīʿah provisions and empirical realities. The findings indicate that Islamic inheritance is not merely a normative–fiqh issue but also involves intertwined juridical, social, and technical dimensions. The involvement of auditing, asset appraisal, medical, and notarial expertise is essential to ensuring justice, accountability, and legal certainty. Therefore, an integrative interdisciplinary approach is indispensable for strengthening Islamic inheritance governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

The technical meaning of ‘iddah, according to the majority of scholars, is the waiting period observed by a woman to ascertain the purity of her womb, for the purpose of worship or to observe a period of mourning following the death of her husband. ‘Iddah is not an original Islamic custom but a pre-Islamic one. However, Islam has retained it as an obligation whilst modifying certain provisions that were not in accordance with logical principles. With the development of medical equipment (ultrasound) and pregnancy tests, it cannot be denied that the rationale behind the obligation of ‘iddah for a woman needs to be re-examined, as the previous rationale no longer aligns with the developments of the modern era. The rationale of ‘iddah is no longer merely about ascertaining the purity of the womb from a fetus or child, but there are higher wisdom and reasons beyond that. These include honoring the bond of marriage, as well as serving as an act of worship to Allah and obedience to His commands. The research method chosen for this study is library research. This method aims to gather data, opinions and information regarding the ‘iddah and technological advancements with the aid of various materials available in the library, such as books and notes relating to the main issue raised by the author. This study employs both a Sharia-based and a historical approach. The results of the literature review conducted by the author indicate that various medical tools, including ultrasound (ultrasonography) and pregnancy test kits, both of which can detect pregnancy with great accuracy cannot eliminate the obligation of the ‘iddah period, as in-depth research has revealed that the obligation of the ‘iddah for women is not merely to ascertain the emptiness of the womb which can be determined quickly with the advancement of modern technology but rather there are many other underlying reasons and wisdom contained within it.

Abstract

The Batamat Al-Qur’an tradition in Banjar society remains alive as a religious and cultural expression, yet among young people its meaning is shifting because of modernization and digital media. Previous studies have mostly discussed Batamat in terms of culture, education, and continuity, while research linking symbolism, social status, and the spirituality of Banjar youth remains limited. This study formulates questions on the general form of Batamat, its symbolic meaning, its function as a marker of social status, and youth spirituality, with the aim of explaining these four aspects concretely. Data were collected through library research on journals, books, and scholarly documents published in 2020–2026, then processed through data reduction, classification, interpretation, and descriptive-analytical analysis. The findings show that Batamat functions as a communal rite marking Qur’anic completion, a symbol of religious achievement, respect for teachers and parents, a medium of family honor, and a means of cultivating gratitude, adab, and closeness to the Qur’an. Therefore, Batamat Al-Qur’an remains relevant for Banjar youth as a form of cultural Islam that integrates cultural identity, social legitimacy, and spiritual strengthening.

Abstract

In the world of education, the development of information and communication technology encourages the use of digital platforms to create more interesting, interactive and flexible learning, such as Learning Management Systems (LLMS) and video conferencing. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), challenges will arise related to ethics, culture, and teacher readiness in operating digital devices. Based on previous research reviews, there are not many studies that show the readiness of teachers, especially in the PAI subject, in integrating technology. This is important at the vocational high school level, especially at SMK PGRI 1 Kediri City which has adequate ICT facilities. The purpose of this study is to describe in depth the real conditions at SMK PGRI 1 Kediri regarding the readiness of Islamic Religious Education teachers in integrating learning technology. This study is a field research with a descriptive qualitative approach that describes and interprets data systematically according to the facts in the field. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of purposely selected informants, namely PAI teachers. The results of the study indicate that the potential for technology integration by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMK PGRI 1 Kota is derived from an open attitude towards technology, training, adequate facilities, and a supportive school culture, and assessing digital-based learning as more effective and efficient. The strategies used include the use of visual content such as PPT and videos, as well as formative quizzes as an engaging evaluation tool for students. This study strengthens the understanding that teacher readiness is not only determined by technical abilities alone, but also by school culture factors, institutional support, and an open attitude towards technology.

Abstract

Financial accountability in the public sector is vital for transparency, public trust, and service quality. This study examines the effects of responsibility accounting, risk management, and human resource quality on financial accountability at the Pemali Comal Water Resources Management Center using a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected from 82 employees through questionnaires and analyzed with multiple linear regression. The results show that responsibility accounting (β = 0.246; sig = 0.016), risk management (β = 0.293; sig = 0.002), and human resource quality (β = 0.307; sig = 0.000) each have a positive and significant effect on financial accountability. Simultaneously, all variables significantly influence financial accountability (F = 24.120; sig = 0.000), with an R² of 0.481, indicating that 48.1% of the variance is explained by the model. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening accountability systems, effective risk management, and improving human resource quality to enhance financial governance in public sector institutions

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of internalizing the concept of zuhud based on QS. Al-Hadid:20 in reducing Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) among teenage TikTok users at RW 06, Tanjungwangi Village, 2026. This research employs a quasi-experimental method with pre-test and post-test control group design. Subjects were 40 teenagers aged 13–18 years selected through purposive sampling, divided equally into experimental (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. The intervention consisted of four structured sessions integrating tafsir of QS. Al-Hadid:20 with zuhud value internalization activities. Data were collected using the adapted FoMO Scale (Przybylski et al., 2013; α=0.87) and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test. Results showed a statistically significant decrease in FoMO scores in the experimental group (Z=−3.92, p=0.001) with a mean reduction of 18.15 points, while the control group showed no significant change (p=0.432). These findings indicate that internalization of zuhud values derived from QS. Al-Hadid:20 is effective in reducing FoMO among teenagers who actively use TikTok.

Abstract

The global fashion industry is currently experiencing significant changes in consumer behavior, where the previously dominant fast fashion trend is starting to be replaced by the phenomenon of sustainable fashion, including thrift fashion products. The thrifting phenomenon is no longer just buying used goods, but rather part of the lifestyle and expression of Generation Z identity. This study aims to determine the influence of brand image, price, and product quality simultaneously on Generation Z's purchasing interest in thrift fashion products at HM Bulakelor. The research population is all consumers of thrift fashion products at HM Bulakelor Brebes, especially Generation Z, who have an average of 10-20 consumers per day or as many as 501 Gen Z per month. The research sample is 84 consumers with a sampling technique using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 5%. Data collection uses a questionnaire with instrument testing using validity and reliability tests. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS. The results of the study show that partially brand image and product quality have a significant effect on purchasing interest, while price does not have a significant effect on purchasing interest. Abstract

This study aims to contextualize the prophetic tradition lā tagḍhab (“do not get angry”) as an ethical critique of hate speech on TikTok through Fazlur Rahman’s double movement hermeneutics. Using a qualitative library research design, data were collected through documentation techniques. Primary data consist of hadith narrations on the prohibition of anger found in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan al-Tirmidhī, and Sunan Abī Dāwūd, as well as classical commentaries such as Fatḥ al-Bārī by Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī and Sharḥ Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim by al-Nawawī. Secondary data include scholarly works on double movement hermeneutics, studies on digital ethics and hate speech, official reports from the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, and online news reports concerning TikTok-related hate speech cases during 2025–2026. The analysis follows two stages: first, examining the historical context (asbāb al-wurūd) and classical interpretations of the hadith; second, extracting its universal moral values and applying them to contemporary digital communication practices. The findings reveal four universal ethical principles embedded in the hadith: self-control, moral strength, social harmony, and the prohibition of harming others through words or actions. These principles provide a critical framework for understanding hate speech on TikTok as a manifestation of uncontrolled digital anger amplified by algorithmic virality. The study demonstrates that double movement hermeneutics effectively bridges classical hadith teachings and contemporary digital challenges. Its novelty lies in positioning anger management as the foundational ethical principle for preventing hate speech, thereby contributing a hadith-based framework for digital literacy, online civic responsibility, and Islamic cyber ethics in the digital age

Abstract

This research is intended to examine the interpretation of Qur’anic verses concerning qawwamun and nusyuz in Q.S. an-Nisa’ (4): 34–35 and 128 through the lens of Asma Barlas’ hermeneutical framework. The study adopts a qualitative design in the form of library research, drawing on primary sources such as the Qur’an and Barlas’ writings, alongside supporting references from both classical and contemporary tafsir. Data collection is carried out through a documentation technique, while the analysis employs a descriptive-analytical approach that involves thematic mapping, examination of key linguistic elements, intertextual analysis, exploration of historical context, and a critical reassessment of interpretations influenced by patriarchal perspectives. The results reveal that the Qur’anic discourse on gender relations fundamentally promotes principles of justice, mutuality, and ethical accountability, rather than legitimizing hierarchical authority. Within this framework, Barlas reinterprets qawwamun as a notion of responsibility instead of dominance, and understands nusyuz as a form of relational imbalance that can arise from either spouse. In sum, the study underscores that gender inequality in Muslim contexts is more closely tied to interpretive traditions than to the Qur’anic text itself, thereby affirming the need for contextual and critical reinterpretation to foster a more equitable and balanced understanding. This article contributes to contemporary Qur’anic studies by offering a critical engagement with patriarchal readings of gender-related verses through a hermeneutical approach grounded in tawhidic principles and textual contextualization. It also enriches the discourse of Islamic gender studies by demonstrating how reinterpretation of qawwamun and nusyuz can support more egalitarian and dialogical marital relations within Muslim societies

Abstract

This article examines the concept of Islamization of knowledge and science integration within the framework of Islamic epistemology as an effort to overcome the dichotomy of knowledge that remains deeply rooted in the Islamic education system in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with library research method, this article analyzes the concept of Islamization of knowledge according to Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi, as well as the concept of science integration in contemporary Islamic perspective. The findings reveal that: (1) Islamization of knowledge constitutes an epistemological reconstruction that places tawhid as the foundation of all knowledge; (2) the integration of science and religion is complementary in nature; and (3) implementation in education still faces challenges including a dichotomous paradigm, limited teacher competence, and a curriculum not yet optimally integrated. This article offers constructive recommendations for the development of holistic and integrative Islamic education in the modern era.
