Abstract

The hybrid work arrangement is increasingly preferred by Generation Z employees as it provides a balance between personal life and work. However, task performance in this setting varies, particularly regarding employee engagement levels. This study aims to examine the influence of flexible work arrangements on task performance with work engagement as a mediating variable. Flexible work arrangements are defined as an arrangement allowing employees freedom in choosing their working time and location, while work engagement refers to a positive state characterized by vigor, dedication, and full absorption in work. Task performance is defined as an employee’s ability to complete core tasks that support organizational goals. Participants in this study were 153 Generation Z employees working in hybrid arrangements in several companies in Jabodetabek. Data were collected using the Flexible Work Arrangements Questionnaire (FWAQ) for flexible work arrangements, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) for employee engagement, and the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) in the (Task Performance) section for task performance. The results indicate that flexible work arrangements positively influence task performance, with employee engagement significantly mediating this relationship. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of work policies that support productivity and employee well-being in hybrid work environments.

Abstract

Aortopulmonary window (AP window) is a rare congenital heart defect (0.2%-0.6%), due to failure of the conotruncal septum, and should be repaired as early as possible, ideally before 3 months of age, to prevent irreversible pulmonary hypertension (PH), heart failure, and death. We report a 2-year-6-month-old boy with a large aortopulmonary window, high flow–high resistance pulmonary hypertension (PH), and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale (ASD/PFO). Echocardiography showed a 13–15 mm AP window, left-to-right shunt, PFO, and 17 mm Tricuspid Annular Plane Systolic Excursion (TAPSE). CT scan detected an 8 mm ASD primum, PH, bilateral pneumonia, and minimal pericardial effusion. Catheterization showed high-flow-high-resistance PH. The patient was planned for aortopulmonary (AP) window closure and patent foramen ovale (PFO) was maintained under general anesthesia. Preoperative management involves a thorough evaluation, with premedication given in the form of midazolam 1 mg and induction using fentanyl 40 mcg and rocuronium 10 mg. Intubation was successful, SIMV-PC ventilation was maintained optimally (SpO? 99–100%). Invasive monitoring was used (ECG, TEE, arterial line, and CVC). During cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) there was no severe hypoperfusion, but post-CPB there was severe vasoplegia and mild respiratory acidosis, managed with milrinone. Postoperative care focused on maintaining adequate cardiac output. Coagulation disorders were managed with FFP, PRC, and tranexamic acid. Pulmonary hypertension was prevented with high FiO? and correction of acidosis. Ventilator weaning was performed gradually and stably.

Abstract

The obligation of Notaries holding Protocols to submit Protocols received which at the time of submission are 25 years old or more to the Regional Supervisory Board in practice does not run as it should where the Protocols are still kept by the recipient of the Protocol until the Protocol is submitted to the next Protocol Holder, so that the responsibility of the Notary Protocol holder becomes longer than it should have been regulated by the applicable laws and regulations. As the recipient of the Protocol which is 25 years old or more, the obstacle faced by the Regional Supervisory Board is the unavailability of adequate storage space by the state as a form of implementation of the statutory regulations stating that Notary Protocols are state archives as per Law Number 2 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law Number 30 of 2004 concerning the Position of Notary (UUJN). Notary Protocols are state archives that must be guarded, secured, and protected by notaries as public officials until the time limit is determined by the law. Therefore, this study was conducted to explain the aspects of legal certainty that must be fulfilled by the state through the Regional Supervisory Board to carry out the storage of Notary Protocols that are 25 years old or more as state archives. So that the intent and purpose of storing the protocol can run well, and the duties and responsibilities of the notary can be protected.

Abstract

Climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions has become a global issue, resulting in various regulations related to climate change mitigation. Indonesia, as a country with high emissions levels, is committed to reducing emissions through carbon trading mechanisms. Carbon trading is a market-based scheme that allows companies to buy or sell emission permits as part of a climate change mitigation strategy. This study aims to analyze the role of companies as business actors in the carbon trading mechanism in Indonesia and the effectiveness of the regulations governing it. The approach used in this study is normative juridical, analyzing various regulations such as Presidential Regulation Number 98 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Carbon Economic Value and Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 14 of 2023 concerning Carbon Trading Through Carbon Exchanges, as well as various international regulations related to carbon trading. The results show that carbon trading is not only an instrument for reducing carbon emissions but also has a positive impact on the economy by attracting green investment and encouraging low-carbon technological innovation. Companies play a crucial role in this system, both as carbon trading actors and as subjects obliged to contribute to emission reduction. However, challenges remain in implementation, such as regulatory compliance, transaction transparency, and the effectiveness of carbon trading mechanisms. Therefore, strengthening policies and strict oversight are needed so that carbon trading can become an effective instrument in achieving the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060 and encouraging sustainable development.

Abstract

Cognitive dysfunction is a common problem associated with ageing and affects quality of life. As a repetitive activity, weaving and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels are believed to be essential in maintaining cognitive function. This study aims to prove the relationship between weaving activity, BDNF levels, and cognitive dysfunction. This study is an observational study with a case-control design. The study subjects were middle-aged women (45–59 years) divided into two groups: CD (cases) and non-CD (controls). CD status was determined using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score. Weaving activity was assessed through a questionnaire, with the criterion for active weaving being at least 3–5 times per week (minimum 60 minutes per session), categorised as weaving (+) and non-weaving (–). Plasma BDNF levels were measured using an ELISA kit and categorised as high BDNF (+) and low BDNF (–) based on the mean value. The researchers performed statistical analysis using the Chi-Square test and logistic regression. The Chi-Square test showed a significant association between weaving activity as a protective factor against CD occurrence (p < 0.001; OR: 0.038) and high BDNF levels as a protective factor against CD occurrence (p < 0.001; OR: 0.013). Multivariate analysis using logistic regression indicated that weaving activity (p = 0.001; AOR: 0.028; CI: 0.003–0.247) and high BDNF levels (p < 0.001; AOR: 0.011; CI: 0.001–0.100) were independent protective factors against CD occurrence. This study indicates that weaving activity and high plasma BDNF levels are independent protective factors against CD.

Abstract

This study examines the position of the three-stanza song Indonesia Raya in the Indonesian state system to shape a culture of legal awareness and national spirit. The second and third stanzas contain messages of noble values of legal awareness and behavior as well as maintaining the sanctity of the homeland. However, in its implementation, only one stanza is commonly sung, even though the three stanzas of Indonesia Raya have been regulated in Law Number 24 of 2009 concerning the Flag, Language, and National Emblem as well as the National Anthem. Therefore, revitalization efforts are needed so that the song Indonesia Raya can function fully as a means of revolutionizing the mentality and character of the nation, towards a golden Indonesia in 2045.
