Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to explore the integration of Islamic educational values in the practice of the Hajj pilgrimage, focusing on the researcher's own spiritual experience directly in the implementation of the Hajj in 1444H/2023M. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through participatory observation and literature study. The study subjects were Hajj pilgrims from Kloter 1 KNO Embarkation Medan from Mandailing Natal Regency. The results of the survey indicate that Islamic educational values, such as sincere intentions, piety, patience, and Islamic brotherhood, play a vital role and influence on pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage. In addition, it was found that implementing the Hajj pilgrimage is a means of education for pilgrims to obtain these educational values to be applied in their post-Hajj life. This is supported by several factors: experienced Hajj guides and a conducive social environment, which contribute to the success of the integration of Islamic educational values in the practice of the Hajj pilgrimage. Overall, this study confirms the importance of Islamic education in preparing Hajj pilgrims to undergo a more meaningful and spiritually conscious pilgrimage. The Hajj pilgrimage is a ritual and a means of education to obtain educational values in life for humans in general. Keywords: Islamic Education; Hajj; Spiritual Experience.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of theocentric humanism-based learning in shaping the mental and spiritual of students at MA Banat Tajul Ulum Grobogan, identify supporting and inhibiting factors for its implementation, and provide strategic recommendations for improving the quality of learning. The research method is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis was done using thematic analysis techniques of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion extraction. The study results indicate that the theocentric humanism approach applied at MA Banat Tajul Ulum has successfully integrated humanistic and spiritual values into learning. This is reflected in increased empathy, responsibility, and tolerance of students and decreased cases of violence by 70% in the last two years. The main supporting factors for this program's success are the principal's commitment, routine training for teachers, and student involvement in activities based on spiritual values. However, the implementation of this program still faces obstacles such as limited resources, including special modules provided and limited time for intensive training. This study offers something new by developing a theocentric humanism-based learning model that integrates religious and humanistic values synergistically. This approach is relevant to building students' mental and spiritual, but can also be adopted by other educational institutions to create holistic and sustainable education. The results of this study are that learning based on theocentric humanism can be an effective solution in forming the character of religious, tolerant, and integrity students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural Islamic education values at UPT SD Negeri 231 Gresik, focusing on teaching tolerance, harmony, and equality among students. The research method is descriptive and qualitative, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the teachers at this school implement multicultural values by integrating Islamic teachings, particularly those found in the Qur'an and hadith, into the learning process. Additionally, they employ various methods such as lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, role modeling, and habituation to instill a respectful attitude and harmonious coexistence. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, cultural arts, and Scouts, strengthen multicultural values outside the classroom. However, the study found limitations in using traditional learning media, such as worksheets and textbooks. This study implies that multicultural education should be an integral part of the educational curriculum, especially in shaping students' character to be tolerant and appreciative of diversity and strengthening social harmony in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Forced marriage has been identified as one of the primary causes of marital failure. This study aims to delve into the social, cultural, and economic factors that drive the practice of forced marriage in the Bades community. Employing a case study approach, this research reveals the following: Firstly, the tradition of arranged marriages without the consent of the child is common among the mountainous people of Bades, leading to the stigmatization of unmarried women over the age of 18 as "old maids". Secondly, forced marriage has a detrimental impact on women, including psychological distress, loss of educational opportunities, limited career prospects, marital discord, domestic violence, and economic instability. Although some forced marriages endure, the majority of women in Bades face hardships and suffering due to pressure from their families.

Abstract

The implementation of Aswaja courses at the Islamic University of Jember (UIJ) in forming students' Wasathiyah Islamic character (Islamic moderation) is the main subject of this study. The primary study issue is how UIJ's Aswaja course model helps students develop a moderate Islamic character and how well the university has done at doing so. This research will employ a case study with a qualitative approach and provides a detailed examination of a specific environment, object, or collection of documents or events. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher conducts field observations, structured or unstructured interviews with key personnel at the Islamic University of Jember, and document analysis to supplement data. Data collection will occur in a natural setting, with the researcher observing without prior arrangement, aiming for their presence to maximize the study's objectives effectively. The integration of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah values in education at the Islamic University of Jember (UIJ), who revealed various strategies and policies the university employs to internalize Aswaja values in every aspect of education, it was found that Aswaja values such as moderation (tawasuth), balance (tawazun), tolerance (tasamuh), and justice (i'tidal) are systematically implemented in both credit-based and non-credit curricula, including courses outside the religious field. UIJ has designed teaching methods that encourage students to not only understand these values theoretically but also apply them in daily life, achieved through a student-centered learning (SCL) approach that facilitates dialogue, inquiry, and material exploration by students.

Abstract

Laduni science has long been recognized within society, often perceived as a form of knowledge granting its possessor an infallible grasp of truth and insight into unseen realities. However, this perception is overly simplistic, as individuals endowed with laduni knowledge are not inherently free from error nor exempt from the need for continuous learning and self-improvement. This study examines the interpretation of laduni knowledge, explores its differing and overlapping perspectives, and analyzes its Sufi and socio-socialist orientations based on the term ladunna 'ilman in Q.S. Al-Kahf [18]: 65. Using a comparative approach, the study contrasts the Tafsir al-Munir Marah Labid, employing a global (ijmali) method with a Sufi emphasis, and the Tafsir al-Mishbah, characterized by an al-Adabi al-Ijtima'i style. Findings reveal that laduni knowledge aligns with scientific principles and is amenable to rational explanation.

This research is a library research with the manuscript text of Kabhanti Bunga malati serves as the primary source of data, which is available in the online manuscript catalog of the British Library with the code EAP212/3/23. The Bunga Malati text is analyzed using Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutical theory to uncover the meanings of symbols used in the text. The outcomes of this research indicate that the Khabanti Bunga Malati text elaborates the teachings of sufi ethics (tasawuf akhlaki) through the system of moral development known as takhalli, tahalli and tajalli. This reveals that the Khabanti Bunga Malati is seen and believed to be one of the initiatives of sufi education in the Buton Sultanate, which combines local cultural elements in the form of community poetry with Islamic values.
