Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based application system using the K-Means algorithm to cluster students in Al-Quran training at Pondok Pesantren Islamiyah Syafi’iyah Sumberanyar, Paiton, Probolinggo. The system is designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in determining training groups based on students' Quranic reading skills, including Tajwid, fluency, and memorization. By analyzing data from 824 students, this research successfully classifies them into three skill categories: "Ulya" (advanced), "Wustha" (intermediate), and "Ula" (beginner). This clustering process provides an objective guide for assigning students to appropriate training groups and supports the personalization of the learning process. Additionally, the implementation of web-based technology facilitates easier data management and greater accessibility for administrators. The results show that the K-Means algorithm significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of the training process compared to manual methods. These findings are not only relevant to this pesantren but also have the potential to be applied to other Islamic educational institutions to optimize training management.

Abstract

The handling of stunting in Indonesia continues to develop by utilizing digital technology. Sumedang Regency has implemented the Integrated Stunting Management Information System (SIMPATI) as an innovation in monitoring and preventing stunting through technology. This study is a narrative literature review aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of the SIMPATI application in reducing stunting prevalence. The method used is SWOT analysis of various relevant literature. In its implementation, the SWOT analysis is conducted by identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of SIMPATI's implementation based on the data and findings contained in the literature. The research results show that the SIMPATI application provides easy access to real-time data, increases transparency, and supports data-driven policymaking. The implementation of SIMPATI has also contributed to reducing the stunting rate in Sumedang Regency from 32% in 2018 to 8.27% in 2022. However, challenges remain, such as limited internet access in certain areas, inadequate training for healthcare workers, and difficulties in data integration across institutions. Therefore, improvements in digital infrastructure and strengthening user capacity are needed to optimize and sustain the implementation of SIMPATI.

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman that allows both parties to live together. Marriage is not only recommended by religion but is also important for a prosperous life. Marriage has a significant contribution in the personal and social development of individuals as well as in the formation of a harmonious family. Marriage is often a challenge for women as they have to balance the demands of being financially and psychologically independent with new responsibilities as partners and parents. There has been a tendency for a fairly drastic decline in marriage rates in recent years. This research focuses on the reasons or factors that influence women to postpone marriage in Indonesia. The research method used is scientific literature review research, namely reviewing and describing several articles that are accurate and relevant to the same research topic. From the research result, the factors that women delay marriage include prioritizing higher education levels, family factors, lack of mental readiness for marriage, concerns about financial conditions, fear of the risk of divorce, changes in thought patterns and the increasingly rapid influence of globalization

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain students' mistakes in solving mathematical numeracy problems based on APOS theory in fifth grade elementary school. This research method uses qualitative descriptive research. The research instruments used observation sheets, test question sheets and interviews. According to the research results, students' understanding of fraction material is quite high, although there are some students who actually understand the material but are lazy in taking the tests given so they only do a few questions but are not thorough enough and are too hasty in understanding the material and working on the questions. Errors at the action stage are included in the low category, because the majority of students can already understand what is known in the question. Errors at the process stage are included in the low category, because most students already understand what is asked in the question. At the error object stage in implementing the plan, students are not yet fully able to solve the problem, there are still many students who only write down the formula and there are also those who carry out calculation operations but the final result is wrong. Error at schema stage. At this stage, it is included in the highest category, because students do not write conclusions from the final results of the questions in question and students do not check their answers again.

Abstract

The Student Executive Board (BEM) has an important role in bridging communication between students and the university and advocating for student interests. In carrying out its duties, BEM requires members who are competent, highly dedicated, and able to work professionally in accordance with the organization's vision and mission. However, the BEM member selection process, especially in the selection stage carried out by the BEM chairman through a series of tests, is still carried out manually. This selection method has various obstacles, such as lack of transparency, subjective bias, and lack of efficiency in decision making. Therefore, this study proposes the application of the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm in a web application based on the Django Framework to help the BEM member selection process more objectively and systematically. The KNN algorithm is applied to classify prospective members based on various relevant attributes, such as academic test results, organizational experience, leadership skills, and level of participation in student activities. With this web-based system, it is hoped that member selection can run more transparently, accurately, and quickly compared to manual methods. System testing shows that this application is able to increase selection efficiency with more measurable results and a user satisfaction level of 93.2%. In addition, the implementation of this system also aims to improve professionalism and effectiveness in the management of student organizations, so that BEM can carry out its role more optimally in developing student leadership character and supporting the creation of a more dynamic and innovative academic environment.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) play a strategic role in shaping a moderate and inclusive understanding of Islam, especially in multicultural societies like Bali. This study aims to analyze how Pesantren Nurul Jadid Bali implements Islamic education based on religious moderation through its curriculum and teaching methods. Using a qualitative approach and case study methodology, this research examines the curriculum structure, teaching strategies, and their impact on students' (santri) understanding and attitudes toward social life. The findings reveal that the pesantren's curriculum integrates classical Islamic studies, character education based on moderation, and interfaith understanding. The teaching methods employed include talaqqi (direct learning from teachers), interactive discussions, as well as social and experiential learning with the local community. Additionally, students are equipped with practical skills and foreign language proficiency to enhance their capabilities in the global era. Moreover, integrating local wisdom values into the curriculum has proven effective in fostering tolerance and social harmony. The interaction between students and Hindu and non-Muslim communities through social activities and interfaith dialogues strengthens their understanding of religious moderation. Thus, pesantren not only serve as centers for Islamic education but also as agents of social change, promoting harmony within religious diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the background of the emergence of traditional woven fabric craftsmen in To'barana North Toraja Regency in 2017-2023, the development of traditional woven fabric craftsmen in To'barana, and the social life of traditional woven fabric craftsmen. This research is a qualitative study that uses a historical approach method with four stages of work, namely: heuristics (finding and collecting sources), source criticism (external criticism and internal criticism), interpretation (interpretation of sources), and historiography (writing history). Data collection methods were carried out by conducting field research, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the beginning of the emergence of traditional woven fabric craftsmen in To'barana was marked by historical relics in the form of sumpu woven fabric (endless woven fabric), which was made by one of the descendants of the nobles in To'barana, namely Ne'butung and Ne'panggau during the Japanese occupation which was used as a pennammu' (blanket) needed during the war. So that this weaving heritage has become one of the main professions for the To'barana Village community which was designated as a Weaving Village in 2017-2023. Supported by production equipment and support from the North Toraja Regency government, it also has an impact on marketing development, where the craft has been marketed outside Toraja Regency such as Makassar and Papua.

Abstract

Quality of life has remained a recurring theme in research considering it’s important in the overall psychological well-being of the individuals. Several predictors have been used to investigate quality of life among different populations and samples with varied results. Importantly, studies investigating undergraduate quality of life tend to be scarce. Therefore, this study investigated the predictive ability of anxiety and depression on quality of life among undergraduates in Ibadan, Nigeria. Cross-sectional research design was adopted while purposive sampling technique was used to select one university in South-west Nigeria. Data were conveniently collected from 400 undergraduates using validated scales and analyzed using zero-order statistics and multiple regression to test four hypotheses which was accepted at p = .001). The results demonstrated that anxiety and depression jointly and independently predicted the physical, psychological, social relationship and environment domain  quality of life among study participants. The study concludes that anxiety and depression are robust predictors of quality of life among the population of study. The study recommended that parents and other stakeholders should work in synergy to reduce triggers of anxiety and depression and provide for the well-being of the undergraduates.
