Abstract

Mental health education is an important aspect for students in schools, but is often neglected by educational institutions. Even though students often face high academic pressure, social demands, and emotional challenges, that can have a negative impact on their mental well-being, which also affects academic achievement. This study aims to provide alternative solutions regarding educational innovations that can be carried out in developing mental health education programs in educational institutions. The research method was carried out through Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the Publish or Perish application as an instrument for identifying journal articles. Articles are obtained and eliminated based on the criteria of quality, novelty, and conformity with specific research themes. The results of this study indicate that mental health education has a significant role in the mental well-being of students at school. Therefore, mental health education innovations must be carried out in the context of developing school programs. Mental health education innovationsthat can be carried out include collaboration between Islamic educational institutions and professional staff, and integration of the health education curriculum with the school curriculum.

Abstract

Degradation of ethics and morality during adolescence poses a threat that can hinder or even jeopardize the future of teenagers. This counseling is conducted to provide education and a deep understanding of how teenagers can build strong morals and develop positive adolescent ethics. The counseling uses the PAR approach with the aid of media such as laptops, LCD projectors, and materials as primary tools for conveying information. The results of the counseling show: the event was conducted very well, with excellent interaction between the presenter and participants. The presenter effectively and smoothly delivered information about ethics and morality, the causes of their decline, and strategies for prevention. Conclusion: The counseling on ethics and morality has a positive psychological impact as participants are able to understand the material well.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are a place for students and a place to educate students so they can live independently with the guidance of applied religious teachings. Islamic boarding schools are currently tarnished because of the increasing cases of bullying, but this incident will never reduce the enthusiasm of the caregivers and Islamic boarding school administrators to overcome the problems that occur in Islamic boarding schools. The aim of this research is to determine the strategies of foster carers in dealing with bullying of students in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The place of this research is at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School, especially the Az-Zainiyah Region, Village. Karanganyar, District. Paiton, Kab. Probolinggo. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques are used by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions and verification. The research results show that several foster carer strategies that can be applied in overcoming bullying against students include: Interpersonal Communication, Modeling, and seminars. Having a foster care strategy implemented can help reduce students from doing as they please which can lead to bullying behavior, and can help Islamic boarding schools, especially the Az-Zainiyah region, to be environmentally friendly and caring. Foster carers play a very important role in overcoming bullying against students, so that bullying behavior does not continue to become a tradition.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) play a strategic role in shaping a moderate and inclusive understanding of Islam, especially in multicultural societies like Bali. This study aims to analyze how Pesantren Nurul Jadid Bali implements Islamic education based on religious moderation through its curriculum and teaching methods. Using a qualitative approach and case study methodology, this research examines the curriculum structure, teaching strategies, and their impact on students' (santri) understanding and attitudes toward social life. The findings reveal that the pesantren's curriculum integrates classical Islamic studies, character education based on moderation, and interfaith understanding. The teaching methods employed include talaqqi (direct learning from teachers), interactive discussions, as well as social and experiential learning with the local community. Additionally, students are equipped with practical skills and foreign language proficiency to enhance their capabilities in the global era. Moreover, integrating local wisdom values into the curriculum has proven effective in fostering tolerance and social harmony. The interaction between students and Hindu and non-Muslim communities through social activities and interfaith dialogues strengthens their understanding of religious moderation. Thus, pesantren not only serve as centers for Islamic education but also as agents of social change, promoting harmony within religious diversity.

Abstract

The existence of industry era 4.0 brings significant impact in education especially for professionalism of teacher. Era industry and its development offers various simplicities, however it endangers the existence of qualified professional that is teacher. Various dilemmas and challenges of Islamic education drive in and out of problems. In addition, it causes internal education factor which cannot be solved. Islamic education is also confronted by complexity issues post-appearance industry era 4.0, therefore an issue of professionalism of teacher should be solved by improving teacher competency. It refers to the pedagogies development, information technique competency, personal competency, and social competency. Furthermore, the teacher should have good creativity, productivity, strong work ethic, and high commitment in carrying on their carrier as teacher. Through training session, the teacher is demanded to be able to contribute positive provision to the leaners with knowledge, instilling high discipline, reactiveness, innovativeness, and competitiveness.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the researchers' interest in the management of kitab kuning reading acceleration program at the Maktuba Mambaul Ulum Islamic boarding school, East Bira. The management carried out resulted in something extraordinary, where students who were still on average 7-12 years old managed to take part in the acceleration program for mastering the kitab kuning and master a series of other Islamic disciplines in just 2 years. If we relate to psychological theories, this is certainly a remarkable thing, considering that at their age in general they still live in the world of playgroup and education in the family. However, this does not make the management carried out ineffective, in fact this institution is able to create a pleasant learning atmosphere, and the target of this program can be achieved properly. This study focuses on the implementation of the kitab kuning reading acceleration program and its management in the pesantren. This research uses a qualitative approach and the type is descriptive research. As in the qualitative approach in general, the data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Analysis of the data used is by reduction, display, and verification. The research results show; first, the implementation of the acceleration program is by grouping students into 5 to 10 small groups with direct guidance for 24 hours by a musyrif. The two managements of kuning kuning reading acceleration program at the pesantren were carried out effectively and very well through planning, organizing, directing, and supervising carried out by this institution.

Abstract

Islamic Education must engage in dialogue with the dynamics of social life and technological developments. Through the modernization and democratization of Islamic Education, Azyumardi Azra offers an educational construction that can face the challenges of modernity by adhering to the values and teachings of the Islamic religion. This research aims to reveal Azyumardi Azra's views and conception of Islamic Education and their implications for the construction of Islamic Education. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Education in Azra's view, must be oriented towards the formation and development of children's personality based on the teachings of Islam. Not only that, Islamic Education must also be designed considering students' competence in mastering science and technology. In this way, it can carry out its function of preparing human resources thoroughly. To modernize and democratize Education, Azra offers several strategic steps, including; ideological-normative, political, economic, social, and cultural mobilization. At the same time, Azra also uncovered several variables that must become a modernization agenda: administrative modernization, subcultural modernization, and capacity expansion. In addition, according to Azra, efforts to democratize Education are more to make the education system more just, inclusive, and participatory. According to him, the democratization of Education is a process of social change that aims to make the education system more equitable and of better quality for all citizens. He believes that democratization in Education can be characterized by three key aspects. Firstly, it involves having a flexible curriculum that allows students to express their creativity. Secondly, there is a shift in the paradigm of Islamic Education, moving away from an authoritarian approach towards a more democratic one. Lastly, there is a harmonious connection between Islamic educational institutions and the surrounding community, ensuring a synchronized and inclusive learning environment

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, dibahas peran komitmen dalam mengurangi risiko moral hazard pada skema pembiayaan mudharabah di Bank Jatim Syariah Capem Sampang. Moral hazard menjadi tantangan besar dalam pembiayaan mudharabah karena bank tidak memiliki kontrol langsung atas penggunaan dana oleh nasabah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen bank dan nasabah menjadi kunci dalam meminimalkan risiko moral hazard. Pengendalian dana yang ketat, dukungan berkelanjutan dari bank, pendekatan personal dalam hubungan dengan nasabah, serta verifikasi usaha yang menyeluruh terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan ekosistem pembiayaan yang transparan dan akuntabel. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan strategi mitigasi risiko pada pembiayaan mudharabah dan memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi bank syariah dalam meningkatkan pengelolaan pembiayaan berbasis syariah.

Abstract

Biology education at the secondary school level plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of scientific concepts related to life. One of the main challenges in biology learning is the low level of students’ conceptual understanding, which can impact their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' understanding of biology concepts. The subjects of the study were students from class X-A Science and X-B Science at MA Miftahul Ulum Nagasari Congkop Tlambah, Karang Penang, Sampang, during the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically using the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used are the Student Worksheet (LKPD), test devices (pretest and posttest), and observation sheets for the implementation of PBL syntax. The data analysis used is inferential statistics with parametric statistical techniques. Students’ conceptual understanding of biology was measured using a scoring rubric based on the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy by Anderson & Krathwohl, integrated into a written test. Data analysis was conducted using Quade’s Rank test with the help of SPSS version 28.00. The results showed that the PBL model had a significant effect on students' understanding of biology concepts, with an effect size of 0.299.

Abstract

The escalating global environmental crisis demands active participation from educational institutions, particularly Islamic institutions with unique theological foundations for environmental stewardship. This research addresses the gap between Islamic values and modern environmental management by analyzing the innovative “Eco-Pesantren Model” at SMPI Mambaul Ulum, identifying implementation mechanisms, and evaluating impacts on students’ environmental awareness. Using qualitative case study methodology with participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 25 key informants, and document analysis, this research develops an integrated model combining spiritual transformation with practical environmental management. The study introduces “Ecological Tauhid” concept, integrating modern environmental principles with Islamic values through Contextual Environmental Fiqh. Implementation includes four programs: Zero Waste Islami (85% consistent waste sorting), Blessed Energy (40% electricity reduction), Water of Life (ablution water reduction from 12 to 3 liters), and Islamic value-based environmental curriculum (environmental fiqh understanding increased from 72 to 86 points). The “Environmentally Conscious Family” program achieved 78% family participation with 60% plastic waste reduction. This research contributes the “Ecological Tauhid” paradigm as a new framework for Islamic environmental education, providing a replicable model supporting SDGs 4, 13, and 15.
