Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a significant health issue in tropical regions, including Indonesia, particularly in environments like Islamic boarding schools with high population density and sanitation challenges. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Booklet-Self Education (B-SE) in improving knowledge and clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) among students for DHF prevention. Using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest group design, 204 female students were divided into experimental and control groups, each with 102 participants. The experimental group received B-SE-based health education. Results revealed a significant improvement in the knowledge and PHBS practices of the experimental group, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). These findings highlight the potential of B-SE as an effective educational tool for fostering PHBS and preventing DHF in boarding school settings. The study suggests that incorporating such educational media into health programs can reduce DHF prevalence and enhance public health awareness in similar environments.

Abstract

Technology plays a crucial role in enabling efficient digital public services. However, administrative and informational systems in Jabungsisir Village are inadequate due to outdated computer equipment, a lack of an official village website, underutilized ICT for virtual meetings, and the absence of cloud storage for village documents. This research aims to identify strategies for optimizing ICT to support data digitalization processes in Jabungsisir Village. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation. The study identified key solutions, including establishing a dedicated village website, implementing cloud storage for secure document handling, and training staff on effective ICT utilization for virtual meetings. These initiatives have enhanced the efficiency, accessibility, and security of administrative processes. The findings demonstrate the potential of ICT optimization to modernize village administration and serve as a model for other villages striving to digitize their operations.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period for growth and development, influenced significantly by lifestyle choices. This study investigates the relationship between fast food consumption, physical activity, and nutritional status among adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Pajangan. Using a cross-sectional design, the research involved 243 respondents selected through random sampling. Data collection methods included Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQ), 24-hour Physical Activity Level (PAL) recall forms, and anthropometric measurements. The Spearman correlation test revealed no significant relationship between fast food consumption and nutritional status (p=0.468) or between physical activity and nutritional status (p=0.648). These findings highlight the complex factors influencing nutritional status beyond diet and exercise, suggesting the need for multifaceted approaches to address adolescent health. The study underscores the importance of balanced interventions incorporating dietary education and physical activity to improve adolescent nutritional outcomes.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, primarily affecting the lungs and leading to significant health challenges. In 2021, 450,000 cases of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) were reported, marking a 3.1% increase from the previous year. Family support plays a vital role in motivating patients to adhere to treatment regimens, while high self-efficacy boosts patients' confidence in completing therapy. Adherence to tuberculosis treatment is defined as completing a six-month course of therapy without interruptions. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between family support, self-efficacy, and adherence to anti-tuberculosis medication (OAT) among pulmonary TB patients in Situbondo District. A cross-sectional design was employed, involving 112 respondents selected through Slovin's formula from a population of 156 TB patients at Besuki and Panji Health Centers. Data collection utilized validated questionnaires on family support, self-efficacy, and medication adherence, analyzed using the Spearman test. Results revealed a significant relationship between family support and adherence (p=0.000; r=0.443) and between self-efficacy and adherence (p=0.000; r=0.537). The study concludes that both family support and self-efficacy are crucial factors influencing adherence to tuberculosis treatment among pulmonary TB patients in Situbondo.

Abstract

Information literacy is a critical skill that supports learning processes, especially in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) models, which emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving. This study aims to investigate the influence of information literacy on PBL models in vocational education at SMK Negeri 10 Medan. Using a quantitative descriptive method, the research involved 55 students, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group applied PBL, while the control group used conventional learning models. Results revealed a significant improvement in the information literacy skills of the experimental group, with pretest and posttest average scores increasing from 52.00 to 82.92, compared to the control group (pretest 51.50, posttest 79.63). Statistical analysis confirmed the significant impact of PBL on improving information literacy. The findings suggest that PBL enhances students' engagement, critical thinking, and ability to utilize information effectively. This research advocates for integrating PBL in educational curricula to foster higher-order thinking skills and better academic outcomes

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Probolinggo presents significant social and cultural challenges, leading to issues such as juvenile delinquency, school dropouts, and family instability. This study investigates the factors contributing to household conflicts and explores strategies for mitigating divorce cases in Sidopokso Village, Kraksaan, Probolinggo. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that third-party involvement (50%), domestic violence (10%), and economic issues (20%) are the primary triggers of divorce. The normalization of divorce as a solution to family conflicts reflects limited understanding and application of Islamic principles in household management. This study recommends educational programs to promote harmonious family environments, economic resilience through employment opportunities, and support for at-risk families. Addressing these factors is critical to reducing divorce rates and strengthening family stability.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based application system using the K-Means algorithm to cluster students in Al-Quran training at Pondok Pesantren Islamiyah Syafi’iyah Sumberanyar, Paiton, Probolinggo. The system is designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in determining training groups based on students' Quranic reading skills, including Tajwid, fluency, and memorization. By analyzing data from 824 students, this research successfully classifies them into three skill categories: "Ulya" (advanced), "Wustha" (intermediate), and "Ula" (beginner). This clustering process provides an objective guide for assigning students to appropriate training groups and supports the personalization of the learning process. Additionally, the implementation of web-based technology facilitates easier data management and greater accessibility for administrators. The results show that the K-Means algorithm significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of the training process compared to manual methods. These findings are not only relevant to this pesantren but also have the potential to be applied to other Islamic educational institutions to optimize training management.

Abstract

The handling of stunting in Indonesia continues to develop by utilizing digital technology. Sumedang Regency has implemented the Integrated Stunting Management Information System (SIMPATI) as an innovation in monitoring and preventing stunting through technology. This study is a narrative literature review aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of the SIMPATI application in reducing stunting prevalence. The method used is SWOT analysis of various relevant literature. In its implementation, the SWOT analysis is conducted by identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of SIMPATI's implementation based on the data and findings contained in the literature. The research results show that the SIMPATI application provides easy access to real-time data, increases transparency, and supports data-driven policymaking. The implementation of SIMPATI has also contributed to reducing the stunting rate in Sumedang Regency from 32% in 2018 to 8.27% in 2022. However, challenges remain, such as limited internet access in certain areas, inadequate training for healthcare workers, and difficulties in data integration across institutions. Therefore, improvements in digital infrastructure and strengthening user capacity are needed to optimize and sustain the implementation of SIMPATI.
