Abstract

Waste is a factor that causes various kinds of problems in the surrounding environment, especially in Indonesia. The lack of public awareness causes  garbage that accumulates everywhere to manage the waste properly. Over time, the accumulation of waste can have a detrimental impact, ranging from health problems and environmental damage to the economic sector. Therefore, this study aims to analyze aspects of knowledge and aspects of understanding of Jember University Physics students regarding the  mechanism of waste power plants (PLTSD). This research was conducted using quantitative methods with a descriptive approach through questionnaires through google forms on 50 students. Based on the analysis that has been carried out, it was obtained that the level of understanding of Physics Students at the University of Jember is the mechanism of waste power generation in terms of the understanding aspect and the understanding aspect is quite good. It is evident from the percentage results obtained on each questionnaire question more than 50% of students already understand the mechanism of waste power plants in utilizing waste as an alternative energy source.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum can be considered as an option that exists to solve the problem of learning loss factors from online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This study aims to determine educational problems in urban schools that have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum.  The method that the researchers used was the observation method, as well as interviews for teachers and questionnaires for students.  Based on research conducted, there are educational problems in learning using the Merdeka Curriculum in urban schools that are experienced by students, including lack of focus, low literacy skills, unable to collaborate with friends, and unable to manage time properly.  Suggestions that can be given for problems that occur include the teacher being able to hold ice breaking so that students can switch for a while from cellphones, use media and learning methods that are more interesting, students learn more deeply independently and learn to manage time.  Some students are still adjusting to the process and learning materials using the Independent Curriculum.  Therefore, the teacher's role is very important in helping students to guide and explain the material.

Abstract

This descriptive research is motivated by the many problems that arise due to the low competence of students' knowledge in learning Biology on Biodiversity material in grade 10 senior high school semester 2 which is closely related to misconceptions. This study aims to analyze concept maps and find out which sub-materials have the most misconceptions experienced by students in the subject of enriching life in grade 10 Semester 2 with material topics which include: the concept of biological conservation, diversity levels (genes, species and ecosystems). ), as well as the distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the data collection technique that the author uses is to use literature studies from several sources related to the misconceptions of 10th grade high school students semester 2 on biodiversity material. Based on data obtained from several sources related to misconceptions experienced by students, where the most dominant sub-material students experience misconceptions is located on the concept of conserving biodiversity, conserving biodiversity at the level (genes, species and species), and sub-material trade and distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. The conclusion from the results of this study is a misconception of biodiversity material caused by differences in learning support reference books.

Abstract

Learning Outdoor is a way to increase student learning capacity and encourage student motivation to bridge between theory in books and realities in the field. Learning outside the classroom is not just moving lessons out of the classroom, but instead invites students to unite with nature and make observations of objects in the surrounding environment that lead to the realization of student understanding. The method used in this study is the literature study method. The literature is in the form of various scientific articles published both in scientific journals and proceedings (national or international) and from various other sources. Method approach outdoor learning is seen as very effective as a means of knowledge management which means that each student can develop their abilities based on the experience gained while studying in the open. Of course, this type of learning will have a process that uses interaction, creativity, development of soft skill as well as other things that have a good impact on students. Students who carry out the learning process using the outdoor learning method experience a significant increase in learning motivation where the tendency to increase learning motivation is in the highly motivated category. This shows that students' interest in learning increases by using the method outdoor learning which means they prefer outdoor learning which of course interacts directly with the surrounding environment by observing and understanding various aspects whose purpose is to support the learning process.

Abstract

The researcher's research is motivated by the extent to which subjects or students in the context of understanding the term discipline in the scope of inside and outside the classroom. The extent of this understanding cannot be separated from the culture that students have received both in the family room and in the classroom. In addition, the assumption of many people that discipline is a negative impulse – that the institution or the term discipline exists to be violated – is not entirely true. However, in this paper, the author is not looking for the extent of the right and wrong percentage of the logical consequences of discipline. Instead, the author looks at the extent to which the narratives that are often not heard by the public appear in the writing of the research subject. This qualitative research uses the interview method by recording every conversation between the two parties, namely the interviewer and the research subject who comes from various SMKNs in Buntok, Central Kalimantan. Furthermore, the author transcribed the interviews from the audio recordings. The results of this study show that discipline should be in the space of dialog (discipline as a work in time) that is mutually beneficial between teachers and students. Thus, the negotiation space is important here. Then, the author found that learner independence is an implementative action of the current learning curriculum. Furthermore, the extent of discipline is the extent to which the limits of discipline are contained and applied in the school room.

Abstract

The curriculum is a set of plans and Settings on purpose, content, and study materials and ways used as a guide to the learning activities arrangements to achieve specific goals. The lesson materials intended in the curriculum need a means to get to the learners. These are possible in various forms, one of which is in the form of a textbook. A good textbook covers all KD and conforms to established content standards. The worthiness of the text book's contents can be judged by the material completeness, the breadth of the material, and the depth of the material contained within it. This observation is intended to analyze the depth of the cell's metabolic materials on the biological subjects of the 2013 national curriculum of the high school, based on a basic competence of the 2013 curriculum from the breadth and depth of matter. The observation method used is the study of literature by searching for information on the matter of observation to be discussed. Based on analysis of some literature studies, it was obtained that the depth of discussion of metabolic materials in common biological subjects in high schools is quite deep. However, the depth varies from one school to another.

Abstract

Motivation is very important for students in the learning process at school because motivation is one of the factors that determine learning outcomes. The students have passed the online learning process, which has transitioned to offline learning now. Contradictory learning conditions certainly affect the level of learning motivation which owned by the students, whether it remains or changes. By this research, the researchers aimed to measure the level of learning motivation which owned during following learning activities that the entire learning process becoming an offline process in this transition process in the academic year of 2022/2023. The entire learning process becoming an offline learning. This research was conducted from October to November 2022 at SMKN Pariwisata Mamasa, West Sulawesi. The type of this research is survey research with a quantitative-descriptive design. The sample was obtained by using the saturated sampling technique, in which the number of samples is equal to the total number of people in the population is 64 which consist of 18 men and 46 women. The research instrument used a motivational questionnaire which consist of 22 statements, 11 of were positive and 11 were negative. The results of this research shows that the average level of student learning motivation in the learning process is in the high category. The aspect that has highest percentage is having hopes and dreams for the future. Meanwhile, the aspect that has lowest percentage is having encouragement and needs in learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of preliminary studies and the experience of researchers, who have found that in the learning process that takes place in the classroom there are problems related to the use of learning media. In learning, teachers only use teaching methods and tend to use textbooks as a teaching tool. The impact of these problems is that most students do not understand the content of their learning material, especially when it comes to the human digestive system. So the researchers developed Construct 2 learning media for the material of the human digestive organs. So that teachers and students can learn and access the material at any time. This study aims to determine the validity, usefulness and effectiveness of the Construct 2 learning media used. Researchers used qualitative and quantitative research methods and the development model used in this study, namely ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The data in this study were obtained through the validation of material experts and media experts. The conclusions from the results of this study on construct 2-based learning media are (1) getting an average score of 87% from material experts and media experts (2) being explained practically and getting an average score of 89.11% (3) being declared effective besed on the average student score as many as 90.3% of students meet the minimum completeness criteria. As a result, it is possible to conclude that Construct 2 learning process and can improve student learning outcomes in subject matter .

Abstract

This research aims to develop from research to produce product development of videoscribe-based learning media social studies subject matter of natural phenomena in Indonesia and neighboring class countries. This research method uses the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model which consists of (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation stages. The subjects in this study were teachers and students of class VI at SD Negeri 3 Besole, Besuki District, Tulungagung Regency. There were two trial designs that were carried out, consisting of a limited trial on 8 students and a large trial on 28 students. The conclusions of this study are (1) Videoscribe media can be said to be valid and suitable for use as learning media by obtaining validation carried out by media expert validators obtaining a percentage of 95%, while material validators obtain a percentage of 97.7%. (2) Videoscribe media can be said to be practical and appropriate for use in learning by obtaining a percentage score of 98%. While the response of class VI students to videoscribe media obtained a score percentage of 92.8%. (3) Videoscribe media can be declared effective in the learning process. with mastery learning to get a value of 88%. Meanwhile, for the wide trial, it obtained an average score of 96 and exceeded the KKM score (75) with the percentage of learning completeness obtaining a score of 100%.

Abstract

Globalization is emerging in a digital era, making it easier to access information, share, and exchange things via social networks, such as Instagram. The purpose of this study is to analyze students’ perceptions of Instagram as a platform to motivate EFL learners. The researcher assumes Instagram is an easy platform and can be used to learn English anywhere and anytime without time restrictions. The research was conducted on the students of IAIN Palangka Raya. Researchers used quantitative methods to solve research problems and employ questionnaires and interviews as data-gathering instruments in this study. For the English Study Programs at IAIN Palangka Raya, a research sample was chosen by purposive sampling in which the sample should be the third-semester students who were also active users of Instagram and active followers of accounts that teach English. This study found that 76% of TEFL students are motivated to learn English using Instagram due to its attractive and easy-to-use application design, fun activities, and improved English vocabulary, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
