Abstract

The candidates of vocational high school students often experience difficulties in choosing the majors they will take. There are several factors that influence in choosing a major. One of the majors at SMKN 1 Magetan is the hospitality department. This study aims to determine the factors that influence students' interest in choosing a hospitality major at SMKN 1 Magetan. This research used quantitative methods. The sample in this study were 100 students from the hospitality department of class X, XI, and XII. The sample technique used was random sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire prepared by the researcher with 24 question items obtained from the results of the validity test r results > r table of 0.1654 at n = 100 and the reliability test results obtained 0.778 and 0.898. Of the 24 question items, there was 1 question which was declared invalid with a result r value of 0.109 <0.1654. The results of this study found that the majority of students have chosen the hospitality major because of the influence of friends with a percentage of 59 (59%), 23 (23%) from the web and the rest came from parents' encouragement, self-will and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Democratization of education can be actualized through, among others, the application of the concept of community-based education. Community-based education is a system of education in which the community makes a high proportion of decisions concerning education, starting from matters of the input, process, and output through to the financing of  education .This article is philosophically aimed at exploring the basic ideas and concepts implied in community-based education.The understanding of the community, especially parents, on the awareness of the importance of education needs to be improved through an emotional approach. This is done in order to be able to provide a good education, between education in schools, families, and in the community, and to encourage the community to consider encouraging children to get education to a higher level, to equip children as the nation's next generation. The community environment is very influential in improving children's education, as well as the family environment. This research aims to gain public awareness of the importance of children's education. The method used is descriptive research method, which focuses on problems that are appropriate at the time the  research takes place. In this study, the presentation of data using observation and interview techniques.

Abstract

This study aims to increase teacher creativity with the cooperative cycle learning strategy at Harapan Kasih Middle School. This research method uses school action research with quantitative data. Observations and assessments were carried out by the principal of the teachers at SMP Harapan Kasih with a total of 20 teachers who were the subject of observation. The implementation process goes through three phases, namely pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2. Action research in each cycle uses four stages, namely planning, action, observing and reflecting. The results showed that the cooperative cycle learning strategy could increase teacher creativity at Harapan Kasih Middle School. The average value of pre-action teacher creativity at Harapan Kasih Middle School was 39.7%, which is in the very low category. The average value of teacher creativity in cycle 1 was 63.8% in the sufficient category while the average value of teacher creativity at Harapan Kasih Middle School in cycle 2 was 86.7%. The results of the implementation of cycle 2 showed the success of the cooperative cycle learning strategy as an effort to increase teacher creativity at Harapan Kasih Middle School, Bandung City.

Abstract

Along with technological advances,many social media can be accessed by children until they are old. Especially during the panademic,children studied at home and used accessories in learning to use gadgets, so that here children want to easily access anything via gadgets, one of which is the tiktok application. lately, elementary school-age children have been imitating various content found in the tiktok application. This content creates a problem if the content that is viewed or imitated does not reflect something good, this will here an impact on the child's character. In this research using qualitative methods of problem research. The result of this research is that many children experience changes or declines in moral ethics which are currently more or less influenced by the use of gadgers.the things that influence it are the conten that children see through the tiktok aplication. Not only that, the lack of parental supervision in using gadgets.

Abstract

Waste is a factor that causes various kinds of problems in the surrounding environment, especially in Indonesia. The lack of public awareness causes  garbage that accumulates everywhere to manage the waste properly. Over time, the accumulation of waste can have a detrimental impact, ranging from health problems and environmental damage to the economic sector. Therefore, this study aims to analyze aspects of knowledge and aspects of understanding of Jember University Physics students regarding the  mechanism of waste power plants (PLTSD). This research was conducted using quantitative methods with a descriptive approach through questionnaires through google forms on 50 students. Based on the analysis that has been carried out, it was obtained that the level of understanding of Physics Students at the University of Jember is the mechanism of waste power generation in terms of the understanding aspect and the understanding aspect is quite good. It is evident from the percentage results obtained on each questionnaire question more than 50% of students already understand the mechanism of waste power plants in utilizing waste as an alternative energy source.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum can be considered as an option that exists to solve the problem of learning loss factors from online learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This study aims to determine educational problems in urban schools that have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum.  The method that the researchers used was the observation method, as well as interviews for teachers and questionnaires for students.  Based on research conducted, there are educational problems in learning using the Merdeka Curriculum in urban schools that are experienced by students, including lack of focus, low literacy skills, unable to collaborate with friends, and unable to manage time properly.  Suggestions that can be given for problems that occur include the teacher being able to hold ice breaking so that students can switch for a while from cellphones, use media and learning methods that are more interesting, students learn more deeply independently and learn to manage time.  Some students are still adjusting to the process and learning materials using the Independent Curriculum.  Therefore, the teacher's role is very important in helping students to guide and explain the material.

Abstract

This descriptive research is motivated by the many problems that arise due to the low competence of students' knowledge in learning Biology on Biodiversity material in grade 10 senior high school semester 2 which is closely related to misconceptions. This study aims to analyze concept maps and find out which sub-materials have the most misconceptions experienced by students in the subject of enriching life in grade 10 Semester 2 with material topics which include: the concept of biological conservation, diversity levels (genes, species and ecosystems). ), as well as the distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the data collection technique that the author uses is to use literature studies from several sources related to the misconceptions of 10th grade high school students semester 2 on biodiversity material. Based on data obtained from several sources related to misconceptions experienced by students, where the most dominant sub-material students experience misconceptions is located on the concept of conserving biodiversity, conserving biodiversity at the level (genes, species and species), and sub-material trade and distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. The conclusion from the results of this study is a misconception of biodiversity material caused by differences in learning support reference books.

Abstract

Learning Outdoor is a way to increase student learning capacity and encourage student motivation to bridge between theory in books and realities in the field. Learning outside the classroom is not just moving lessons out of the classroom, but instead invites students to unite with nature and make observations of objects in the surrounding environment that lead to the realization of student understanding. The method used in this study is the literature study method. The literature is in the form of various scientific articles published both in scientific journals and proceedings (national or international) and from various other sources. Method approach outdoor learning is seen as very effective as a means of knowledge management which means that each student can develop their abilities based on the experience gained while studying in the open. Of course, this type of learning will have a process that uses interaction, creativity, development of soft skill as well as other things that have a good impact on students. Students who carry out the learning process using the outdoor learning method experience a significant increase in learning motivation where the tendency to increase learning motivation is in the highly motivated category. This shows that students' interest in learning increases by using the method outdoor learning which means they prefer outdoor learning which of course interacts directly with the surrounding environment by observing and understanding various aspects whose purpose is to support the learning process.

Abstract

The researcher's research is motivated by the extent to which subjects or students in the context of understanding the term discipline in the scope of inside and outside the classroom. The extent of this understanding cannot be separated from the culture that students have received both in the family room and in the classroom. In addition, the assumption of many people that discipline is a negative impulse – that the institution or the term discipline exists to be violated – is not entirely true. However, in this paper, the author is not looking for the extent of the right and wrong percentage of the logical consequences of discipline. Instead, the author looks at the extent to which the narratives that are often not heard by the public appear in the writing of the research subject. This qualitative research uses the interview method by recording every conversation between the two parties, namely the interviewer and the research subject who comes from various SMKNs in Buntok, Central Kalimantan. Furthermore, the author transcribed the interviews from the audio recordings. The results of this study show that discipline should be in the space of dialog (discipline as a work in time) that is mutually beneficial between teachers and students. Thus, the negotiation space is important here. Then, the author found that learner independence is an implementative action of the current learning curriculum. Furthermore, the extent of discipline is the extent to which the limits of discipline are contained and applied in the school room.

Abstract

The curriculum is a set of plans and Settings on purpose, content, and study materials and ways used as a guide to the learning activities arrangements to achieve specific goals. The lesson materials intended in the curriculum need a means to get to the learners. These are possible in various forms, one of which is in the form of a textbook. A good textbook covers all KD and conforms to established content standards. The worthiness of the text book's contents can be judged by the material completeness, the breadth of the material, and the depth of the material contained within it. This observation is intended to analyze the depth of the cell's metabolic materials on the biological subjects of the 2013 national curriculum of the high school, based on a basic competence of the 2013 curriculum from the breadth and depth of matter. The observation method used is the study of literature by searching for information on the matter of observation to be discussed. Based on analysis of some literature studies, it was obtained that the depth of discussion of metabolic materials in common biological subjects in high schools is quite deep. However, the depth varies from one school to another.
