Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving ginger decoction to reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertensives. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post test without control group design. The population in this study were elderly people who suffer from hypertension in RT 07 Wijaya Kusuma, West Jakarta. The number of samples in this study were 22 people using the total sampling technique. The instruments in this study were 4gr ginger, 200cc water, digital scales, honey, knife, measuring cup, and digital tensimeter (automatic). The research results showed that the average systolic blood pressure at the first measurement (pre test) was 141.32 mmHg with a standard deviation of 10.242. In the last measurement (Post Test) the average systolic blood pressure was 132.59 mmHg with a standard deviation of 3.912 while the average diastolic blood pressure in the first measurement (Pre Test) was 94.27 mmHg with a standard deviation of 10.416 and in the last measurement (Post Test) was 81.55 mmHg with a standard deviation of 7.614. Statistical analysis using the paired t-test showed p value = 0.001 so it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving ginger decoction to reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertensives. Based on the results of the study, nurses are expected to be able to provide interventions to address hypertension problems by administering ginger decoction which can lower blood pressure on an ongoing basis without significant side effects and can be used as traditional medicine in patients with hypertension.

Abstract

A biology laboratory is a room for experiments and research to understand biological concepts and each experiment. Science laboratory standardization is regulated by Minister of National Education Regulation no. 24 of 2007. This research aims to increase awareness about the importance of effective and efficient waste management. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah X, South Tangerang, for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research methods used in collecting data were interviews, observation, and documentation, which were then presented descriptively. The results of interviews with laboratory assistants and biology teachers were described qualitatively, observational data were described quantitatively in percentages, and documentation was used as research-supporting data. Waste management at Madrasah Aliyah X, South Tangerang, is included in the excellent category. Waste management needs to be developed by collaborating with external parties so that waste management is optimal and there is no accumulation of waste.

Abstract

Liquid waste from the student canteen of FST Jambi University can cause pollution. This study aimed to determine the concentration of COD and oil and fat before and after treatment, and to analyze the effectiveness of zeolite and water hyacinth. The experimental method involved a physical process using zeolite and a biological process using water hyacinth. The initial COD value of the canteen liquid waste was 22,357.28 mg/L, and the oil content was 5,576.12 mg/L. After treatment with zeolite, COD decreased to 2,831.325 mg/L, and oil and fat to 17.92 mg/L. Using a combination of zeolite and water hyacinth for 5, 10, and 15 days, the COD values were 792.25 mg/L, 307.9 mg/L, and 666.67 mg/L, and the oil and fat values were 3.22 mg/L, 6.76 mg/L, and 13.61 mg/L. The effectiveness of zeolite alone resulted in a COD reduction of 87.34% and oil and fat reduction of 99.68%. The combined treatment for 5, 10, and 15 days resulted in COD reductions of 96.46%, 98.62%, and 97.02%, and oil and fat reductions of 99.94%, 99.88%, and 99.76%.

Abstract

Indonesia is known for having abundant biological riches and many plants that can be used as medicine. One of the medicinal plants that is often used by Indonesian people is Jatropha curcas leaves. Jatropha plants are currently used as traditional medicine to treat wounds. One common medication used for cuts is povidone iodine which is effective against bacterial infections. However, povidone iodine also has side effects such as irritation, toxic reactions and burning skin. Jatropha leaves have strong antioxidant activity, so it is necessary to innovate in wound treatment using natural ingredients in the form of gel preparations. The gel preparation was chosen because it is practical, not sticky, easily absorbed by the skin, and works directly on wound tissue. The aim of this study was to assess how well a gel made from ethanol extract of jatropha leaves accelerates the healing of cut wounds in white mice. Jatropha curcas leaves were extracted using the maceration method using 96% ethanol as the solvent. Gel stability testing was carried out organoleptically, homogeneity test and spreadability test. Jatropha leaf extract gel was tested on mice that had been given incisions 1.4 cm long with formulations of 10%, 15% and 20% jatropha leaf extract concentrations. Observations were carried out for seven days. Research findings showed that giving white rats gel containing jatropha leaf extract significantly accelerated their ability to repair wounds

Abstract

Dyslipidemia is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and cholesterol management therapy has significant benefits in the primary and secondary prevention of coronary heart disease and stroke. Therefore, lipid-lowering therapy, especially using HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), aims to assess the effectiveness of using statin-class dyslipidemia medications, such as simvastatin and atorvastatin, in reducing LDL levels in cardiovascular patients at X Hospital. This research method uses an observational analytic study with a retrospective research design. This study employs the purposive sampling method. The results of this study show that the majority of patients are female (75%). Based on age grouping, it was found that the highest proportion of patients were aged 56-65 years, accounting for 45%. The use of dyslipidemia drugs that achieved the target LDL reduction ≥ 50% includes Simvastatin 10 mg (33.82%), Simvastatin 20 mg (11.94%), Atorvastatin 10 mg (10.45%), and Atorvastatin 20 mg (41.79%). The most effective drug in achieving the LDL reduction target was Atorvastatin 20 mg.

Abstract

Manufacturing business competition is increasingly competitive. Companies will survive if they are efficient in their operations and are able to maximize the utility of their production machine capacity. Machine utility can be maximized if the machine is always ready for production properly. PT. XYZ is a printing company. The problems at PT. XYZ include the cessation of the production process due to machine damage and machine performance has not been measured because the machine history database is still done manually. The purpose of this study is to design an integrated machine maintenance and repair information system that helps technicians when making repairs and is able to monitor and evaluate machine performance and the performance of the engineering department. The method used in this study is to conduct a survey of the existing system and plan a system that is able to analyze machine conditions in detail. The result of this study is a maintenance information system that can be used well at PT. XYZ. This system is able to assess machine performance and the performance of the engineering department and is able to be a reference when repairs and the report data can be used to plan maintenance and development of the engineering team.

Abstract

The structural design of this three-story Islamic boarding school building, the results obtained after analysis include; risk category II so that the earthquake priority factor is 1. The soil site class is soft soil. In the structural system, it is designed using a special moment resisting frame system (SRPMK). The seismic design category obtained is category D. Seismic inspection starting from checking irregularities, diaphragm design, checking the number of structural vibration variations, determining the fundamental period of the structure, seismic response coefficient values, seismic base shear, checking the deviation between floors is carried out based on SNI 1726-2019. for column elements, beams and also plates in existing conditions after analysis have met the requirements based on SNI 2847-2019. The conclusion in this final project research is based on the results of the analysis that the design of the Attybian Islamic boarding school building still meets the requirements based on SNI 1726-2019 concerning procedures for earthquake resistance planning for buildings and non-buildings and also for beam, column and plate elements have met the requirements based on SNI 2847-2019 concerning reinforced concrete structures. However, for the beam elements for the reinforcement requirements, it is still too wasteful so that in this analysis, the amount of reinforcement is reduced because in the planning principle it must be safe and economical.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that occurs chronically or chronically because the body does not have enough insulin hormone due to disruption in insulin secretion, insulin hormone that does not work properly or both. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by the appearance of typical symptoms, namely polyphagia, polydyscipsia, and polyuria and some experience weight loss. One of the risk factors for diabetes mellitus is unbalanced intake, where high consumption of fat and sugar can cause obesity and is associated with increased blood glucose. Therefore, appropriate snacks or distractions are needed for people with DM. Klepon with the addition of purple sweet potato flour and almonds can be a new innovation and can be used as an alternative snack for people with diabetes mellitus. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the content of macronutrients and the effect of substitution of sweet potato flour andalmond on the acceptability of klepon's organoleptic quality. Method: Aanalysis used in this study consists of statistical analysis k and power analysis Accept or quality organoleptik. Result: The results showed that there was a significant influence on the nutritional value as well as on the color, taste, aroma and texture of almonds substituted sweet potato flour and almonds. The best treatment is found in P1 treatment cookies. Conclusion: The substitution of sweet potato flour and almonds affects the nutritional value and acceptability of color, taste, aroma, and texture of klepon.

Abstract

The management of medicines in community health centers is a key element in healthcare services. This study aims to analyze the management of medicines at the Pharmacy Installation of X Community Health Center in Sukoharjo Regency. The aim of this research is to determine the suitability of indicators for the selection, planning, procurement, distribution, and use of drugs at this community health center, and to identify the strategic position of the pharmacy installation within the SWOT matrix. This research employs a descriptive analysis study design with a nonexperimental qualitative approach. Data were collected retrospectively through a review of documented records. Data collection techniques included document review, observation, and interviews at X Community Health Center in Sukoharjo Regency. The results showed that the indicators for compliance with the community health center's formulary were in accordance with standards, but the compliance of medicine items with the national formulary and the national essential medicines list was not up to standard. In the planning and procurement stages, all indicators met standards, such as the comparison between the number of medicine items planned and those actually used, the frequency of procurement of each medicine item annually, and planning deviations. In the distribution stage, the indicators for medicine matching with stock cards and the warehouse management system met standards. In the usage stage, the percentage of prescriptions with generic medicines met standards. The SWOT analysis results indicated a position in quadrant 1.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to detail the main causative factors of reservoir water tank issues that lead to delays in operating the main engine. The data analysis method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that the reasons for the compressor malfunction during the maneuvering of the MV. Charlotte include broken piston rings, damaged compressor cylinder head gaskets, leaks in high and low-pressure valves, and compression leaks in the compressor. The solution involves shutting down the compressor, closing the intake/outlet valves, removing the connecting rod bolts, replacing the piston rings, conducting a running test, cleaning the cylinder head surface, applying liquid gasket, and ensuring no leakage after installation. It is important to check and ensure the cylinder head bolts are tightened according to the manufacturer's manual. Additionally, shutting down the compressor, opening the valves, and performing skimming or replacing damaged components are necessary. Energy savings can be achieved by improving the compressed air system, which can reduce operational and maintenance costs. Compressor efficiency can be enhanced by using automatic controls to regulate compressor operation as needed and maintaining the system's air pressure as low as possible to minimize leakage. The conclusion emphasizes that efforts to ensure the compressor functions properly during ship maneuvers include repairing or replacing compressor components when damage is identified. If repairs are not possible, component replacement must be carried out immediately without delay.
