Abstract

Disposable Medical Materials play an important role in maternity services and their use is influenced by the type of delivery and the patient's payment method. This study aims to analyze the influence of both on the use of disposable medical materials in the Emergency Department Pharmacy and the Medical Depot of Dr. J.P. Wanane Regional General Hospital, Sorong Regency, and to comparing the use of disposable medical materials between caesarean section patients of the social security administration and general normal delivery. This quantitative cross-sectional study used a total sampling of 108 delivery patients from January 2025 to June 2025. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests (α=5%). The Kruskal-Wallis test results showed a significant difference in the use of medical consumables between patient groups based on the combination of delivery type and payment method (p = 0.011). Caesarean section patients from the Social Security Administration used the most medical consumables, while patients with normal delivery used the least. Mann-Whitney analysis confirmed that the use of medical consumables was higher among Caesarean section patients from the Social Security Administration compared to normal delivery (p = 0.007). Thus, the type of delivery and payment method had a significant influence, with the highest use of medical consumables among Caesarean section patients from the Social Security Administration. It was concluded that the type of delivery and payment method had a significant effect, with the highest use of disposable medical materials in the social security administration caesarean section patients.

Abstract

The agricultural sector has received high priority from the government, one of which is the fertilizer subsidy policy. The distribution of subsidized fertilizer, applying the 5 right principles (right price, right quantity, right type, right time, right place), is crucial to implement. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Musi Rawas Regency (Case Study of Three Rice Center Districts). The respondent in this study included 2 distributors, 4 retailers, and 75 farmers. This type of research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches and can be classified as empirical research, utilizing primary and secondary data sources. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis involving indicators of the 5 right principles. The results show that the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Musi Rawas Regency falls into the criteria of being quite effective, with an effectiveness percentage of 77%. It can be said that there are still indicators that have not been implemented by applicable regulations. Two principal indicators fall into the Less Effective criteria, namely the right quantity indicator and the right price indicator, while the other three indicators fall into the criteria of being very effective.

Abstract

This research investigates the importance of Brand Experience in fostering Behavioral Loyalty among smartphone users in Tangerang Regency, with Brand Love, Brand Trust, and Brand Satisfaction with the mediating roles of Brand Love, Brand Trust, and Brand Satisfaction.          A quantitative approach was employed using the Covariance-Based Structural Equation Model (CB-SEM). Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Form to members of Generation Z and Millennials residing in Tangerang Regency, who have a stable income and have independently purchased smartphones. A total of 212 valid responses were obtained. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that Brand Experience has a positive influence on Brand Love, Brand Trust, and Brand Satisfaction. Furthermore, these three mediating variables also significantly affect Behavioral Loyalty. The findings highlight the importance of managing consistent and satisfying brand experiences to foster emotional attachment, trust, and customer satisfaction. These elements are crucial in building long-term behavioral loyalty toward smartphone brands. Practically, companies are encouraged to enhance emotional engagement, build customer trust, and ensure satisfaction to maintain a loyal consumer base in the highly competitive smartphone market.

Abstract

Institute of Technology Sumatra (ITERA), as an educational institution located in the Lampung Province, continues to strive for the development of educational support facilities such as lecture halls and laboratories. The ITERA campus is in an area with potential natural disaster threats like earthquakes, due to the tectonic activity of the Great Sumatran Fault and the subduction of the Indo-Australian plate and the Eurasian plate. To mitigate the risk of disasters on the ITERA campus, infrastructure development planning requires a seismic microzonation study. This research was conducted to determine the dominant frequency (f0​), amplification factor (A0​), and seismic vulnerability index (Kg​) using the Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method. The results show that the dominant frequency (f0​) values range from 1 to 4 Hz, the amplification factor (A0) from 1.8 to 4, and the seismic vulnerability index (Kg​) from 2 to 15. The seismic microzonation map of the ITERA campus, the northern part of the area is categorized as having a medium to high seismic vulnerability index (Kg​), with a low dominant frequency (f0​) and a high amplification factor (A0​).

Abstract

B is a livestock industry company located in Ngadirenggo Village, Wlingi District, Blitar Regency. The main focus of environmental pollution by PT. B leads to water pollution, especially rivers. Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) PT. B comes from 4 sources, namely Mess, MCC (Milk Collect Center), Canteen, and Laundry Room which are then discharged into the Genjong River water body. This study aims to determine the characteristics of wastewater in the domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of PT. B, analyze the effectiveness of the performance of domestic WWTP in treating waste, and evaluate domestic WWTP buildings when compared to the design criteria of water treatment plants in the literature study. The research was carried out for approximately 3 months starting from January 20, 2025 to April 14, 2025. The location of the research of PT. B. Primary and secondary data collection was carried out in this study. The quality of the wastewater produced exceeds the quality standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 68 of 2016, especially in the parameters of TSS, COD, BOD, and total coliform. Evaluation of the WWTP building showed that some units did not meet the expected design criteria, such as the initial and final reservoirs that had too large a volume and inappropriate residence times. Suggestions for improvement include installation of a mechanical mixer system

Abstract

The construction and manufacturing industries require materials with optimal mechanical properties, particularly hardness and toughness. BJTP280 structural steel, classified as low-carbon steel, has the potential to enhance its mechanical properties through heat treatment. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in austenitizing temperature, holding time, and cooling medium on the hardness and microstructure of the steel. Specimens measuring 10 × 8 mm were heated at temperatures of 750°C, 800°C, and 850°C with holding times of 60, 90, and 120 minutes, followed by cooling in air, oil, and water. Hardness tests were conducted using the Brinell method, while the microstructure was observed with an optical microscope. The results showed that the cooling medium had a significant effect. The highest hardness values were obtained with water quenching at 178 HB, oil quenching at 174 HB, and air cooling at 144 HB. Hardness tended to decrease with increasing holding time due to austenite grain growth. An austenitizing temperature of 800°C produced the optimum condition with the highest hardness value, while 850°C resulted in lower hardness because of excessively coarse grain structures. In conclusion, the best heat treatment was achieved at 800°C, water quenching, and a holding time of 60 minutes.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease with high prevalence and significant public health impact. This study aimed to analyze the association of IL-6 gene polymorphism (−174G>C) with serum IL-6 levels and the effectiveness of standard therapy assessed through HbA1c and Random Blood Glucose (RBG) in T2DM patients. A cross-sectional design was employed, involving 40 patients at Imelda Hospital. The polymorphism was examined using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), serum IL-6 levels were measured with Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), while HbA1c and RBG were determined through standard laboratory analysis. The results indicated that IL-6 genotypes (GG, GC, CC) were not significantly associated with serum IL-6 levels, HbA1c, or RBG. In contrast, type of therapy showed a significant relationship with HbA1c, where patients receiving combination therapy achieved better glycemic control compared to those on monotherapy. These findings highlight that therapeutic regimen remains the primary determinant of glycemic control, whereas the role of IL-6 polymorphism in this study population appears limited. Further studies with larger sample sizes and broader genetic analyses are required to strengthen the application of precision medicine for diabetes management in Indonesia.

Abstract

Research advances in coordination chemistry have opened up significant opportunities for the development of complex compounds as therapeutic and diagnostic agents in medicine. This literature review aims to examine several important innovations that are beneficial in chemical and medical knowledge literacy, especially the literacy of cancer therapy applications using platinum, gold, ruthenium, gadolinium, technetium, and bismuth derivatives that have developed into first-line treatments for internal organ cancers such as ovarian, testicular, gastric, and lung cancer. The method used is descriptive qualitative research utilizing international journals and textbooks to support the literature review. The results of the study show the study of the use of metal-based compounds such as platinum, ruthenium, gold, bismuth, technetium, and gadolinium with broad potential, both as chemotherapeutic agents, anti-inflammatory, radiotherapy, and medical imaging contrast agents. This review discusses various procedures for the synthesis of these complex compounds and challenges such as drug resistance, toxicity, and limited bioavailability that remain major obstacles in their application. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the synthesis of complex compounds using innovative ligands that can increase selectivity, reduce toxicity, and improve bioavailability. Based on the results of the literature review, it was concluded that the integration of nanotechnology and coordination chemistry is recommended to improve therapeutic and diagnostic effects in medicine.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health is a crucial aspect in operational activities in the industrial sector, including the livestock industry such as PT. Q. In large-scale livestock activities, potential hazards to workers, livestock, and the surrounding environment can arise from various routine activities, such as waste processing and maintenance of existing facilities. Therefore, the implementation of an OHS system is needed to minimize work risks and ensure the continuity of safe and efficient operations. This study aims to determine the risk of work accidents, classify potential hazards, and evaluate and provide additional risk controls in the sandtrap and heifer areas of PT. Q. The FMEA method has the advantage of being able to explain various risks in detail and comprehensively, helping to improve future work, and is able to identify accident risks based not only on one criterion, but also on three criteria: severity, frequency of occurrence, and detectability. The data collection used was obtained from interviews with 7 respondents, observations, and documentation. The data collection techniques used were interviews and direct practice. Therefore, some suggestions that can be given are using remote operator tools in the machine operator section, adding protection to the screen section and moving roller separator machines, carrying out routine maintenance on the roads used, installing K3 signs in every road traffic, providing first aid kits in every department, and providing K3 socialization to all company staff involved.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the environmental impact and effectiveness of various types of fishery product packaging in Pangkajene and Kepulauan (Pangkep) Regency, South Sulawesi, and assess the perceptions of industry players and consumers. Data were obtained from 15 SMEs, 5 distributors, and 30 consumers through surveys, interviews, and laboratory tests. The results show that 80% of SMEs still use conventional plastic (PP/PE), 3 large exporters use multilayer packaging, and 2 SMEs are trying biodegradable alternatives. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis shows that multilayer has the highest environmental impact with a carbon footprint of 4.5 kg CO₂ eq per kg of product, conventional plastic 3.2 kg CO₂ eq, while biodegradable has the lowest at 1.4 kg CO₂ eq. Effectiveness tests show that multilayer is the most protective with a shelf life of up to 12 months, conventional plastic only 2-3 months with the risk of additive migration, while biodegradable can maintain quality for 3-6 months but is less resistant to moisture. The survey revealed that 70% of consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products, while 60% of industries struggle to switch due to high costs, although 90% support government incentives. The study concluded that biodegradable packaging has the potential to become a sustainable packaging solution with policy support and research and development based on locally sourced materials.
