Abstract

A multinuclear Fe-Mn-Cr complex with 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole (NH2trz) and oxalate (ox) ligands has been synthesized successfully. The formula of the [Fe(NH2trz)3][ClO4][MnCr(ox)3].4H2O complex has been obtained based on the metal and C, H, N contents. The presence of water molecules, metal-ligand bonding and bridge ligand in the multinuclear complex has been confirmed by its infrared spectrum. The compound crystallizes in the hexagonal system with cell parameters of a = b = 18.695 Å and c = 57.351 Å. The compound shows a gradual spin crossover for iron(II) in the [Fe(NH2trz)3]2+ with transition temperature (T1/2) of 205 K. The antiferromagnetic interaction between Cr(III) and Mn(II) ions in the [MnCr(ox)3]n n- network is observed from the Weiss constant (θ) of -2.3 K.

Abstract

Abstract: Identification of High School Students’ Misconceptions on Chemical Bonding With Three Tier Test. This study aims to determine misconceptions among high school students in Medan city on chemical bonding concepts. The research population was 10th grade senior high school students in Medan City, while the samples were taken from 3 schools (school A, B, and C) in Medan City with cluster random sampling technique, a total of 109 students. Three-Tier Test (TTT) were developed based on indicators that students must master in chemical bonding material. The questions are validated by expert validators so that valid questions are generated. A valid TTT is then given to a sample of students. Furthermore, interviews were conducted with students who experienced misconceptions. All data obtained through the test were processed and analyzed. Results showed students who have misconceptions in high school A, B, and C is 53,33, 41,74, and 54,58 respectively with an average of 48,98%. The misconception occurs largely in ionic bonding(56,58%). In addition, the misconception is also found in the stability elements (51,84%), Lewis symbol and structures (46,18%), and covalent bonding (47,48%)concept. The cause of misconceptions is largely due to the wrong students constructing concepts.Keywords: Misconception, Three-Tier Test, chemical bonding.  Abstrak: Identifikasi Miskonsepsi Siswa SMA pada Ikatan Kimia dengan Test Tiga Tingkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi siswa SMA di Kota Medan pada materi ikatan kimia. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas X di kota Medan, sedangkan sampel diambil dari 3 SMA (SMA A, B, dan C) di kota Medan dengan teknik cluster random sampling, sebanyak 109 siswa. Tes Tiga Tingkat (TTT) dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa pada materi ikatan kimia. Soal-soal divalidasi oleh validator ahli sehingga didapatkan soal yang valid. TTT diberikan kepada sampel siswa penelitian. Wawancara dilakukan kepada siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi.  Semua data yang didapatkan, selanjutnya diproses dan dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi di SMA A, B, dan C berturut-turut sebesar 53,33, 41,74, dan 54,58 dengan rerata 48,98%. Miskonsepsi sebagian besar terjadi pada konsep ikatan ion (56,58%). Selain itu, miskonsepsi juga ditemukan pada konsep kestabilan unsur (51,84%), lambang dan struktur lewis (46,18%), dan ikatan kovalen (47,48%). Sebagian besar miskonsepsi disebabkan oleh kesalahan siswa merekonstruksi konsep.  Kata kunci: Miskonsepsi, tes tiga tingkat, ikatan kimiaDOI: 10.23960/jppk. v10.i3.2021.17

Abstract

The old pattern of practicum implementation has less impact on increasing students’ science process skills and critical thinking. Therefore, implementing practicum with a semi-research pattern has been carried out by involving the lecturer and laboratory assistant. The subjects of this research were 40 students in Universitas Negeri Medan. The method is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, action, reflection, and evaluation. Instrument’s research is the observation sheet and essay test. The results of descriptive data analysis show that implementing practicum with a semi-research pattern can improve students’ science process critical thinking skills, especially in planning experiments by 88.3% and critical thinking skills in evaluating by 82.3%.

Abstract

Multinuclear complexes have received considerable interest as molecular magnet materials. Up to now, several complex compounds based on bidentate ligand 2,2' bipyridine have been synthesized. In this research, the Fe-Li-Cr multinuclear complexes with derivative 2'2- bipyridine ligands: 2-(2'-pyridyl)quinoline(pq), 2,2'-Pyridil(pdl) have been synthesized. The oxalate (ox) ligand has also been used as a bridging ligand in these multinuclear complexes. The chemical formula of Li[FeCr(ox)2(pq)(BF4)2(H2O)2] and [Fe(pdl)n][LiCr(ox)3] complexes have been verified using metal and C, H, N elemental analysis data. The IR spectra in 350 "“ 4000 cm-1 range exhibit characteristic absorptions, which support the proposed structure of complex. The plausible structure of the compounds has been drawn based on complex formation mechanism. The magnetic susceptibility at room temperature of the pq-complex is about 5.7 BM and of the pdl- complexes are 4.8 and 5.5 BM. These indicated that both spin states of iron(II) exist in the multinuclear complexes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Si/Al molar ratio and the number of Na2EDTA additions on the purity and crystallinity levels of the synthesized zeolite X. zeolite X was synthesized by hydrothermal method at 70°C and 120°C for 3 and 6 hours, respectively. In the synthesis of zeolite X used boiler ash and aluminum foil waste. The results of characterization using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) showed that the level of purity and crystallinity of the synthesized zeolite X was influenced by the variation of Si/Al molar rasio and amount of Na2EDTA addition. The zeolite with the best quality was obtained from the synthesis with a Si/Al molar ratio of 1.6 and the amount of Na2EDTA added as much as 3.0 g. The synthesized zeolite X has a purity level of 75% and a degree of crystallinity with a total intensity of 845.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui hasil analisis kebutuhan e-LKPD yang digunakan di SMA Negeri 1 Deli Tua; 2) mengetahui tingkat kelayakan e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berdasarkan kriteria penilaian BSNP; 3) mengetahui respon guru kimia dan siswa terhadap e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan Iktan Kimia, dan; 4) mengetahui kemampuan berpikir siswa setelah menggunakan e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Adapun objek dalam penelitian ini adalah e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 validator ahli materi, 2 validator ahli media, 2 guru kimia, dan 33 siswa kelas X MIA. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara guru kimia, angket analisis kebutuhan, angket respon guru dan siswa serta angket kelayakan e-LKPD sesuai dengan standar BSNP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dan pengembangan media dengan model 4D. Model 4D terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Hasilnya adalah 1) Hasil analisis kebutuhan menyatakan bahwa siswa membutuhkan bahan ajar berupa LKPD dengan berbasis model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan ikatan kimia dan seluruh siswa menyatakan setuju apabila dikembangkan bahan ajar berupa LKPD dalam bentuk elektronik berbasis inkuiri terbimbing sebagai penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran; 2) Tingkat kelayakan e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan ikatan kimia berdasarkan penilaian BSNP dihasilkan persentase rata-rata sebesar 85,14 persen dengan diperoleh hasil kriteria sangat tinggi dan valid/layak; 3) Respon guru terhadap e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada pokok bahasan ikatan kimia adalah sebesar 87,49 persen dengan kriteria sangat menarik, sedangkan berdasarkan respon siswa kriteria sangat menarik dengan persentase 83,08 persen, dan yang terakhir 4) hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah menggunakan e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing memperoleh nilai rata-rata di atas 75 yang menandakan bahwa penerapan media ini sudah sangat baik.

Abstract

Learning media has a very important role because it can increase motivation, improve understanding and retention of learning. But the reality in school learning media is often overlooked for reasons of diffuclty finding the right media and limited time to make it yourself. To overcome the nothingness of learning media on molecular shape material, learning media from rice husk waste are developed. This study aims: (1)To know the feasibility of KIT learning media which used in learning activities. (2)To know student learning outcomes by using KIT learning media is higher than KKM. (3)To know student learning activities by using KIT learning media. This type of research is development of ADDIE research model carried out in class XI MIA 2 SMA Swasta Budisatrya Medan. The results of the research are: (1)KIT Learning on molecular shape material has been developed is feasible for use and is in accordance with Ministry of Education and Culture standards with a percentage of 96.87%. (2)Student learning outcomes that use KIT learning media on molecular shape material are higher than KKM. (3) Student learning activities using KIT learning media on molecular shape materials reach the criteria of Good with an average value of 90.

Abstract

The research with the title Development of Chemical Learning KIT from Waste on Chemical Bonding Materials to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in Class X high school aims to find out whether the KIT created can meet the eligibility standards of a KIT and can improve student learning outcomes. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Budisatrya Medan. The sample used in this study was taken by purposive sampling of one class, namely class X MIA 1 as an experimental class that was taught using KIT learning media. The test instruments used in this study were 20 questions that have been tested valid. Based on the results of data analysis, the KIT Learning media made have met the eligibility standard and in the hypothesis test the data obtained from the calculation table obtained tcount= 13.90 while at 1.696 ttable, so the tcount is higher than the ttable value (tcount>ttable) then Ho rejected and Ha accepted so it can be concluded that the average chemistry learning outcomes of students taught using the Chemical Bond KIT learning media are made higher than the KKM value (by 70) ie the average posttest score of students is 84.29.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Hasil analisis mengenai kelebihan dan kekurangan Handout titrasi asam-basa di internet, (2) Tingkat kelayakan Handout Titrasi Asam-Basa Berbasis Android Terintegrasi Model Discovery Learning dan Soal-soal HOTS, (3) Respon Siswa dan respon guru terhadap Handout Titrasi Asam-Basa Berbasis Android Terintegrasi Model Discovery Learning dan Soal-soal HOTS yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitiannya adalah (R&D) dengan menerapkan model pengembangan 4-D oleh Thiagarajan. Tahapan tersebut adalah define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Handout Titrasi Asam-Basa Berbasis Android Terintegrasi Model Discovery Learning dan Soal-soal HOTS yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh 5 orang ahli dan diperoleh skor 94,72; 96.14; 99.10; 95,00 dan 98,11% masing-masing dikategorikan sangat layak. Respon siswa dan guru terhadap Handout Titrasi Asam-Basa Berbasis Android Terintegrasi Model Discovery Learning dan Soal-soal HOTS dikategorikan sangat baik dengan persentase 91,27 dan 100%. Itu menunjukkan bahwa Handout Titrasi Asam-Basa Berbasis Android Terintegrasi Model Discovery Learning dan Soal-soal HOTS layak diterapkan untuk proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

In the 21st century, education is becoming increasingly important to ensure students have learning and innovation skills, skills in using information technology and media, and can work and survive using life skills. One of the life skills that students must have now is HOTs-literacy. This research aims to (1) to find out learning media used in learning process; (2) to design a prototype that will be developed to produce a learning media based on HOTs-literacy; (3) to find out whether the learning media that has been developed meets the criteria; (4) to find out student responses to the media. The method used in this research is 4D model. The result: Based 5 validators it was found 86.6% with a very high Percent Interpretation and a “Eligible” level of eligibility of the media and for the student responses get 95.71% with “very interesting” level. This shows that the HOTS-Literacy-based learning media using iSpring on acid-base material that has been developed is very attractive to students, so it can be used as a supporting medium in learning chemistry.
