Abstract

This study aims to examine the quality of public services in the health sector and their impact on patient satisfaction at the Prof.dr. Panusunan Lubis Hospital, University of North Sumatra (USU Hospital). In this study, a qualitative approach with descriptive method was used. Data were collected through interviews with four patients who are currently or have undergone treatment at USU Hospital. The results showed that most patients were satisfied with the quality of service they received at USU Hospital. Factors such as reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence have contributed positively to the patient experience. However, there were some complaints from some patients related to unfriendly administrative services, incompetent nurses, and room mismatches with expectations. In conclusion, good public service quality at USU Hospital has increased patient satisfaction, although there are still some areas that need to be improved. The results of this study can be valuable input for USU Hospital in improving public services and patient experience to achieve higher standards. Abstract

Kopi bubuk Cap Lampu Gantung adalah kombinasi biji kopi pilihan terbaik di Produksi oleh PT. Gimase Setia Sejahtera sebagai generasi penerus dari CV. Timbangan Gantung Sejak Tahun 1977. Latar belakang penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi komunikasi dalam mempertahankan brand image sebagai produksi kopi pertama di Solok dan citra merek positif serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat strategi komunikasi dalam pemasaran produk. Untuk menjabarkan fokus penelitian tersebut secara mendalam, maka penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan menggunakan model IMC Kotler & Amstrong (Integrated Marketing Communication). Model IMC adalah komunikasi pemasaran sebuah konsep dimana suatu perusahaan mengintegrasikan dan mengkoordinasikan berbagai saluran komunikasi untuk mengirim pesan yang jelas, konsisten, dan meyakinkan berkenaan dengan perusahaan dan produknya. Penelitian ini dengan teknikpengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini ialah keberhasilan dari strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh kopi cap lampu gantung dalam mempertahankan brand image sebagai kopi pertama di Solok.

Abstract

Basically, humans have different characters, from one to another. So, these differences in character cause people to use language differently. Differences in using language cause the emergence of sounds that are not arranged based on a meaningful system. The aim of this research is to discuss Aristotle's views on the five functions of language and communication. This research uses a descriptive method with a literature review or literature study. The research results show that language as a communication tool is the most effective way to convey thoughts, aims and objectives to the people we communicate with. Language as a means of communication has the main function of language, namely that communication is the delivery of a message or meaning by someone to another person. The function of language as a tool of human communication includes five basic functions, namely expression function, information function, exploration function, persuasion function and entertainment function.

Abstract

Tourism is an important industry in many countries, often based on cultural attractions and traditions. In an effort to maintain sustainable tourism while preserving cultural heritage, exploring the cultural values of Melukat in Bali shows the importance of a communication perspective. This research explores the cultural value of Melukat in sustainable tourism with a focus on communication. This research argues that to preserve cultural heritage and promote sustainable tourism, effective communication is needed in several aspects. This includes a thorough understanding of local culture, respect for traditions, tourism education and environmental awareness campaigns. Apart from that, media also plays a role in combining cultural values with the creation of interesting and useful tourism experiences, so that it can have an impact on the economic development of local communities. The research results show that communication is an important factor in maintaining and promoting Melukat's cultural values while supporting sustainable tourism. Furthermore, this research also addresses the challenge of maintaining a balance between commercialization and cultural preservation in the tourism context.

Abstract

The main focus of this study is on the analysis of classical philosophy concepts, particularly the works of Plato. Its aim is to investigate and analyze Plato's thoughts on the aspects of ethics, knowledge, and responsibility in the context of digital communication. From the research findings, it is evident that Plato's ideas still hold significant relevance in addressing challenges in the era of social media. The application of Plato's ethics, especially concerning objective truth and justice, becomes a crucial key in managing information in the complex digital age. This study also highlights the importance of critical thinking skills, understanding Plato's concepts of eternal knowledge, and media literacy as essential foundations to confront the complexity of information. In conclusion, this study affirms that Plato's ideas have provided a solid foundation in shaping a more ethical and wise digital ecosystem.

Abstract

TikTok is a widely used social media platform that enables users to create and share short videos with music, using various filters and creative features. It has a large and diverse user base, especially among young people, who are particularly vulnerable to influences on body image. This study aims to review the existing literature on how TikTok influences users’ perceptions of their own bodies and those of others. A narrative review was conducted using various databases. The selection and screening of studies were based on predefined criteria, focusing on those that investigated the relationship between TikTok usage and body image perceptions. The review revealed a mixed impact of TikTok usage on body image perceptions. Several studies indicated that exposure to body-related content on TikTok could lead to negative body image and dissatisfaction among users. However, some studies suggested that TikTok could also be a platform for promoting body positivity and acceptance. The findings underscore the need for further research to understand the nuanced effects of TikTok on body image perceptions. Abstract

This study investigates the impact of various digital marketing strategies, such as advertising, celebrity endorsements, and influencer marketing, on customer purchase intentions within the cosmetics sector, specifically focusing on the Scarlett brand in Indonesia. In the contemporary digital landscape, characterized by heightened rivalry, it is imperative to comprehend the optimal marketing methods employed on social media platforms. The present study employs a quantitative methodology. Data is generated from 384 respondents through the utilization of a questionnaire. The findings derived from the regression analysis demonstrate that each marketing approach exhibits a favorable influence on consumer purchase intentions within the context of Instagram. Celebrity endorsements have the most significant impact, then advertising and influencer marketing. The psychological impact of celebrities who enjoy high regard among fans can help to explain the significant impact of celebrity endorsements. The efficacy of social media advertising in enhancing customer awareness of brands and products has been well documented. Although influencer marketing has been found to have a favorable impact, its influence appears to be somewhat less important. This study offers significant insights for organizations in the process of choosing the most efficient digital marketing methods to augment consumer buy intent on the Instagram platform. Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge the limits of this study, particularly its narrow focus on the cosmetics business in Indonesia. Future research endeavors should aim to explore variances in social media platforms and expand the geographic coverage to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.

Abstract

This research aims to explore key elements in Plato's theory of language understanding, discussing philosophical implications for understand language, language systems and words. The analysis carried out to further insight about how understand language in complex interactions in contemporary society which is constantly changing. This inquiry views 5 main elements of understanding language proposed by Plato, thats: The function of language description to describe objects; Etymology/origins of words; A vocal portrait of the essential nature of the object, the dual function of language as instruction and separating the existence of culture; and Elements of language conventions as an arbitrary system agreed upon by its speakers. Giving a 'name' to an object or situation provides meaning in understanding the world. The philosophical value of words is basically a means of communication, interpersonal and intrapersonal, verbal or written. With this, Plato provided the foundation for philosophical thought to achieve true knowledge, which now makes a major contribution to the development of various scientific disciplines.

Abstract

Pelayanan publik yang transparan, akuntabel, dan efisien menjadi prioritas utama pemerintah Indonesia. Pengelolaan data kearsipan oleh lembaga seperti Kearsipan Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) mempunyai peran sentral dalam menunjang pelayanan publik yang berkualitas. Namun tantangan pengelolaan dokumen yang efektif, terutama dalam konteks kecepatan, aksesibilitas, dan kualitas, memerlukan inovasi. Penelitian ini berfokus pada Kantor Kearsipan USU dengan menggunakan Model Loveluck sebagai kerangka penelitiannya. Model ini mencakup prinsip-prinsip bukti nyata, keandalan, daya tanggap, jaminan dan empati untuk mengevaluasi kualitas pelayanan publik. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi aspek pelayanan publik di Kantor Kearsipan USU melalui metode studi kasus, survei, analisis dokumen, wawancara, dan analisis data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kearsipan USU menawarkan beragam layanan, antara lain penelitian komparatif, penelitian, dan magang yang banyak diminati pengguna. Website dan media sosial digunakan untuk meningkatkan akses terhadap informasi. Pengukuran kualitas pelayanan meliputi faktor Tangible (penampilan dan fasilitas), Reliability (kehandalan informasi), Responsiveness (tanggapan terhadap keluhan), Guarantee (menjamin kualitas data) dan Empathy (memperhatikan pengguna). Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mengenai tantangan dan peluang pengelolaan data kearsipan di lingkungan akademik. Hasil yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat meningkatkan standar pelayanan publik di Kearsipan USU dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai pengelolaan data kearsipan dalam konteks pelayanan publik di Indonesia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami peran dan dampak Instagram dalam pemasaran bisnis kuliner, dengan fokus pada akun Instagram @disko_51. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus untuk menjelaskan fenomena sosial dan perilaku manusia terkait penjualan makanan online. Melibatkan analisis konten Instagram, wawancara dengan pemilik bisnis, dan suvei, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan Instagram sebagai media utama untuk memasarkan produk dan strategi pemasaran. Paradigma konstruktivisme digunakan, menekankan peran pemahaman, persepsi, dan konstruksi subjektif dalam pembentukan pengetahuan. Usaha @disko_51, yang didirikan pada tahun 2017, dikenal dengan menyediakan makanan dan jajanan seperti spageti, salad buah, dan mochi dengan bahan lokal berkualitas tanpa pengawet. Akun ini berfokus pada menyajikan berbagai macam salad yang cocok untuk cemilan dan makanan sehat. Instagram dipilih sebagai media pemasaran utama selama enam tahun terakhir, dan @disko_51 berusaha maksimal untuk memanfaatkan platform ini dengan menampilkan produk dalam kemasan yang menarik. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan wawasan tentang keberhasilan penggunaan Instagram dalam pemasaran bisnis kuliner, strategi media sosial yang efektif, dan dampaknya pada persaingan bisnis di kota Serang.
