Abstract

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) caused by environment factor, socio -demographic characteristics of parents and child physiological factors. The ARI is the top ten communicable diseases among children under five years in Indonesia. Studies of combination of two or three factors affected the ARI have reported, but study of association subs physiological factors are rarely. The aim of study was to know effect of sub physiological factors on ARI among children under five years. The study used articles from 2015-2020 and conducted from the PubMed and SCOPUS. There were 18 articles relevant with inclusion criteria in this study. Qualitative analysis was used for design study. The five physiological sub-factors, namely age, gender, exclusive breastfeeding, low birth weight (LBW), and nutritional status was associated with ARI among children under five years. The Age, exclusive breastfeeding, LBW, and nutritional status have the same impact affecting maturation immune system in infants. Larger amount testosterone hormone in male infant and smaller size of thymus than female infant. Both of them caused male infant more susceptibility affected by ARI than female infantKeywords: ARI, physiological risk factors, children under five years, gender, immune system

Abstract

River pollution can occur due to the influence of waste that exceeds the predetermined quality standards, besides that it is also determined by the discharge of waste water produced, if the river water discharge is large, the concentration of waste will be neutralized due to the dilution process. This study aims to determine the determinants of water pollution in the Denai River. This type of research is a descriptive study with a total sample of 31 respondents. Based on the results of the univariate test, it states that the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community is good, namely 27 people (87.1%) and 28 people (90.3%) , while community action is bad, namely 28 people (90.3%) and this results in The Denai River in the Jermal Baru Watershed is heavily polluted. Based on laboratory tests, the parameters of suspended solids and pH are not contaminated, while BOD, DO, Fecal coli and Total coliform have been contaminated and the level of water pollution in Denai River is at a heavily polluted level (score -90) obtained by the storet method contained in KepMenLH No. 115 of 2003. Suggestions from researchers are expected to people around River Water to be more concerned about and understand the risks of livestock waste being discharged directly into the river. Keywords: Biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, pH, total coliform bacteria and Fecal coli.

Abstract

One of the most popular diets today recommends a high protein- low carbohydrate diet as a weight loss strategy in obese patients. Diets high in protein appear to reduce appetite, energy intake, weight gain, and fat accumulation. The application of a high-protein diet has an impact on reducing the portion of other macronutrients, namely carbohydrates and fats. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a high protein, low carbohydrate and low fat (TPRKRL) diet on body health. With the focus of the analysis on changes in body weight, serum glucose and cholesterol levels in 22 male Wistar rat samples who were given the standard diet and the TPRKRL diet for 8 weeks. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the variables of body weight, serum glucose and cholesterol levels between the TPRKRL diet group and the control group (standard diet). In fact, the rats in the TPRKRL group experienced a relatively constant increase in body weight and glucose and cholesterol levels were susceptible to normal. Keywords: high protein; body weight; glucose; cholesterol

Abstract

Mentally retarded is a child who has intelligence below average. Mentally retarded children have an inability to take care of themselves, help themselves, communicate, adapt to the environment and simple skills. Mentally retarded itself has a high level of dependence on other people. Parents are one of the roles that are needed by children with intellectual disabilities in achieving their growth and development. Where the general reaction of parents when they find out that their child has special needs includes shock, shame and depression, and parents in having children with special needs usually try to reject the reality. For this reason, self-concept and parental resilience are very important in providing guidance and assistance to the child until he grows up. This study aims to see an overview of self-concept and resilience of parents who have children with mental retardation special needs. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive methods, the population in this study are all parents who have children aged 5-17 years, totaling 41 respondents and the number of samples in the study is 41 respondents with sample skills using total sampling and univariate analysis. The majority of self-concepts of parents who have children with mental retardation in the positive category are 24 respondents (63.2%). The majority of the resilience of parents who have children with mental retardation in the high category are 22 respondents (57.9%). So parents who have children with special mental retardation needs in this study have a positive self-concept and high resilience. Keywords: Self-concept, resilience, parent, mentally disabled

Abstract

The City Government of Kediri in an effort to preserve the environment forms a legal basis namely the City Regulation of Kediri Number 3 of 2009 cocerning Environmental Management. One of the targets in the regional regulation is to preserve the watershed and water sources. In accordance with the 2015-2019 Medium Term Development Plant , there are 15 watersheds that are prioritized to be restored first and one of them is the Brantas watersheds. This study aims to identify the implementation of the Kediri City Government policy in preventing surface water pollution by industrial wastewater in the Brantas River Basin, Kediri District. The method used in this research is descriptive. Collecting data by conducting in-depth interviews with industrial waste water treatment officers and officers in the field of environmental damage pollution in the Departement of Environment, Hygiene and Gardening of Kediri City. Based on the research results, it is known that most of the industries have carried out wastewater treatment and not ith a dilution process and most of the industries have IPLC. Based on the wuality standards, it is known that the quality standards of industrial waste are in accordance with the standards set by the government and the industry routinely conducts wastewater quality tests, but the industry is still lacking in reporting the results of wastewater quality tests. In wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure, the government has provided rubbish place for industrial estates and most industries have their own rubbish place.

Abstract

Dengue virus infection (DENV) circulates in various hyperendemic and endemic areas that has increase mortality year by year. Indonesia is the second-largest country which is endemic to dengue infection between 30 other countries in the world. There are four circulating dengue virus (DENV) serotypes, namely DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4. Each serotype shows a different clinical manifestation and severity. This systematic review aims to compare the severity of dengue virus primary infection and  serotype 1,2,3,and 4. Data were collected based on studies of the severity of primary infections caused by various DENV serotypes in Indonesia. Data was searched using a database in the form of Pubmed and Chocrane. The keywords used are (Primary dengue infection OR dengue primary infection) AND (serotype OR serogroup OR serotype dengue)) AND (severity OR severe dengue* OR severity of illness index* OR clinical manifestations OR clinical features OR clinical characteristics) AND Indonesia. Based on search results, we obtained 7 studies out of 699 studies. 7 studies found that there are differences in serotype circulation in Indonesia. DENV-3 is dominant in 7 cities in Indonesia, while DENV-1 is dominant in Surabaya, Bali, and Jambi. Dengue fever shows a greater percentage than DHF / DSS. The proportion of severity is lower in primary infections.
