The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical and methodological foundations of teaching works of world literature in specialized schools and examines their possible psychological effects on students. World literature education is considered not merely as the presentation of foreign authors and literary works, but as an educational process that enables students to encounter different historical, social, and cultural experiences through literary texts. Drawing on Uzbek methodological literature and international research, the study discusses contextual, dialogic, problem-based, comparative, and reflective approaches to literary teaching. Particular attention is paid to the need to analyze world literature not only through plot and character systems, but also through historical and cultural context, authorial perspective, moral choices, multiple viewpoints, and students’ own interpretations. Existing empirical research on the psychological dimensions of literary reading is critically examined. The article recognizes evidence suggesting that literary reading and dialogic engagement with fiction may support perspective-taking, reflection, and understanding of other people’s mental states, while emphasizing that such effects should not be interpreted as automatic or universal outcomes of reading literature. The study is theoretical and methodological in nature and does not present experimental or statistical results that were not actually obtained by the authors.

Abstract

This article examines the process of grammaticalization of relational nouns in the history of Turkic languages through historical-comparative and functional-semantic approaches. The primary aim of the study is to identify the mechanisms through which spatial nouns that initially existed as independent lexical units gradually developed into means of expressing grammatical relations, and to determine the general and language-specific patterns of this process in the historical development of Turkic languages. The study analyzes the historical use and functional load of units expressing such semantic categories as space, direction, delimitation, proximity, distance, opposition, instrumentality, and relation. In addition, by comparing written sources from different historical periods of the Turkic languages with data from modern Turkic languages, the study identifies the directions, stages, and functional-semantic development of the grammaticalization of relational nouns. The findings contribute to the study of the historical grammar of Turkic languages, comparative-historical linguistics, and the theory of grammaticalization.

Abstract

This study compares human and AI translations of phraseological units in David Nicholls’ novel One Day. It examines how idioms and metaphors are rendered, focusing on stylistic nuance and cultural meaning. The results show that human translators prioritize naturalness, pragmatic adaptation, and emotional depth, while AI often produces literal translations that may lose expressive and cultural resonance. The study concludes that although AI improves efficiency, human intervention remains essential for ensuring cultural accuracy and interpretive depth in literary translation.

Abstract

In today’s educational system, exams play a crucial role in measuring students’ knowledge and academic skills. However, whether exams are true measure of intelligence is still one of the most controversial issues in education. In this regard, many educators believe that this is an effective method to reflect students’ academic abilities. On the other hand, some people argue that real intelligence cannot be adequately measured by exam scores alone. This article aims to analyze the role and importance of exams in assessing students’ knowledge and to examine some limitations of exam-based assessment. Exams primarily measure students' theoretical knowledge and reflect how well they recall specific information, rather than assessing their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions combine examinations with projects, presentations, and portfolios that can provide a broader assessment of intellectual abilities.

Abstract

Neuroplasticity plays an important role in the process of second language acquisition by allowing the brain to adapt to new linguistic information nad develop new patterns of nueral connections.Learning a new language requires the brain to process unfamiliar sounds, vocabulary, grammatical structures, and meanings, which can lead to changes in the neural systems involved in language processing, memory, attention, and cognitive control. This article examines the relationship between neuroplasticity and secong language acquisition, with particular attention to how brain changes during langauge learning and why individuals may differ in their ability to acquire a new language. The article also reviews previous research on neuroplasticity, learning language, and brain function to identify the main factors influencing second language development. It mainly focuses on how the brain changes during learning process and why some learners progress faster than others. The article also considers several factors that impacts on language learning, including age, regular practice, exposure to the target language, motivation, and previous language expereince.A review of existing research shows that the brain can adapt to a new language even in adulthood, although the learning process can be diffrent for each person.Regular practice and frequent exposure to meaningful language can help learners boost and strengthen the neural connections involved in language learning.Understanding neuroplasticity can assist teachers and learners better undertand how language learning takes place and how effective learning environments can be created.

Abstract

Mazkur maqolada Abdulla Qodiriyning “O‘tkan kunlar” romanining nemis tiliga tarjimalarida personaj nutqi va stilistik xususiyatlarning qayta yaratilishi qiyosiy tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqot korpusini Arno Specht tomonidan 1968-yilda rus tilidan nemis tiliga tarjima qilingan “Die Liebenden von Taschkent” hamda Barno Aripova tomonidan o‘zbekcha original bilan solishtirilib, qayta ishlangan 2020-yilgi nashr tashkil etadi. Specht tarjimasi 1958-yilgi L. Bat va V. Smirnova ruscha tarjimasiga tayanishi, Aripova esa mavjud nemischa matnni o‘zbekcha original bilan qayta tekshirib, tuzatishlar kiritgani mazkur ikki nashr o‘rtasidagi farqlarni o‘rganish uchun muhim metodologik asos bo‘lib xizmat qiladi. Tadqiqotda personaj nutqining leksik, sintaktik, frazeologik, pragmatik va lingvomadaniy xususiyatlari, shuningdek, metafora, metonimiya, sinekdoxa, maqol-matal, murojaat shakllari, tarixiy realiyalar va diniy terminlarning nemis tilida berilishi o‘rganiladi. Specht tarjimasida vositachi til ta’sirida yuzaga kelgan semantik siljishlar, madaniy birliklarning umumlashtirilishi va ayrim siyosiy-ijtimoiy mazmunlarning qisqarishi Aripova qayta tahririda qanday to‘ldirilgani ko‘rsatib beriladi. Xususan, kundosh, qorachopon, yuragi qora, choyxona, ichkari, hujra, ayvon kabi birliklar asosida tarjima strategiyalari tahlil qilinadi.

Abstract

In medical science, terminology is an important means of expressing scientific knowledge accurately, concisely, and systematically. A significant proportion of medical terms originates from Ancient Greek and Latin, and these terms continue to be actively used in modern medical vocabulary. One of the most productive terminological elements is “cardio-.” This element originates from the Ancient Greek word kardia, meaning “heart,” and is used in modern medical terminology to express concepts related to the heart and the cardiovascular system. The element “cardio-” occurs in numerous medical terms, including cardiology, cardiomyopathy, cardiomegaly, cardiovascular, and cardiogram. The semantic content of these terms becomes more specific depending on the combination of the “cardio-” component with other morphemes. Therefore, “cardio-” can express not only an anatomical concept but also concepts related to physiological processes, diseases, diagnosis, treatment, and other aspects of the cardiovascular system. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the semantic features of the terminological element “cardio-” in medical science, its morphological structure, and its semantic functions in various medical terms.
