Abstract

Product quality is a key factor in the manufacturing industry, including in the production of red bricks carried out by Pondok Batu Bata Kampung 1 in Tarakan. This study uses the Six Sigma technique as a quality control strategy to improve the red brick manufacturing process, with the aim of increasing production efficiency and product quality. To find, evaluate, and minimize variations that cause product defects, the Six Sigma process is used. Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control are the steps of the DMAIC technique used. These findings indicate that Six Sigma can increase customer satisfaction while reducing the proportion of defective goods. With proper implementation, this method not only improves product quality but also provides a competitive advantage for Pondok Batu Bata Kampung 1 in the midst of market competition.

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence employee retention using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Based on the results of the analysis of various studies, it was found that a good working environment, career development opportunities, and job security are the main factors that influence employees' decisions to stay in the company. Although work-life balance is often considered important, its influence on employee retention varies, depending on the context. Other factors, such as company incentives, rewards, and flexible policies, also play a role in increasing employee loyalty. This study provides insight for companies to design more effective HRM policies, so as to increase employee retention, reduce turnover, and support organizational sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using lime peel extract as a natural preservative on the shelf life of mackerel scad. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four concentration treatments: 0%, 0,5%, 1%, and 1,5% of lime peel extract. The mackerel scad was soaked in the extract for 30 minutes, then stored at room temperature for 0, 6, 12, and 18 hours. The results showed that the addition of 1,5% lime peel extract had the most significant effect in extending the shelf life of the mackerel scad. The chemical test results indicated that fresh mackerel scad soaked in 1,5% lime peel extract and stored for 18 hours had a pH of 3,36. The microbiological test results showed a total bacterial colony count of 5,3 log CFU/g and a total proteolytic bacteria count of 4,6 log CFU/g.

Abstract

Global climate change is one of the major challenges of the 21st century, mainly caused by global warming which is closely related to environmental degradation.  This study analyzes the implementation of green economy in developing countries during 2019-2024, focusing on trends, enablers, barriers, and contributions to SDGs. Government policies play a key role through renewable energy investment, green technology innovation, circular economy, and incentive regulation. Key barriers include limited funding, transition costs, infrastructure, and dependence on fossil fuels. A holistic approach is needed, including international collaboration, strengthening research, and adaptive policies for an inclusive transition. Green economy supports SDGs 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13, accelerating sustainable development. These results underscore the importance of strong policies to achieve social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
