Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the head of administration's strategy in improving the performance of educational staff. Even though the role of administrative staff has been widely studied, there are still gaps regarding the strategy of heads of administration in facing real challenges in madrasas, especially in the context of changing administrative needs and digitalization. This research uses a qualitative phenomenological approach through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions, with validity testing using triangulation and member checking. The research results show that the strategy of the head of administration includes performance planning, division of tasks according to skills, regular coaching and training, as well as periodic evaluations which contribute to increasing the discipline, effectiveness and professionalism of educational staff. Key challenges include the resistance of some staff to job rotation and limited external training. The solutions taken include routine coaching, personal motivation, open communication, and collaboration with external institutions in organizing training. The implication is that this strategy can be adapted by educational administration managers through strengthening organizational communication and external collaboration in order to improve the performance of educational staff in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Analyzing the influence of personality, behavior, and environment on students' self-regulated learning at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Medan is the objective of this study. The approach used in this study is quantitative with a survey method. The determination of the number of samples is based on the Krejcie and Morgan table, which indicates that the population used is 601 students, so that 234 respondents will be obtained as research samples. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument, then analyzed through statistical tests to determine the relationship and influence between variables. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it was found that the student's personality variable significantly has a positive impact on their ability to carry out self-regulated learning with a path coefficient value of 0.474, p-value 0.000, and t-statistic 5.024. The behavioral variable also has a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning with a path coefficient value of 0.375, p-value 0.000, and t-statistic 5.763. Meanwhile, environmental variables have a positive but insignificant influence on self-regulated learning, as reflected by the path coefficient of 0.040, p-value of 0.618, and t-statistic of 0.499. The research findings indicate that personality is the variable with the highest coefficient value in influencing students' self-regulated learning. Thus, internal factors such as personality and behavior have a stronger contribution than environmental factors in improving students' ability to regulate and control their learning process independently.

Abstract

This study develops the AIAT-HRM Model as a conceptual framework for systematically integrating four core Islamic values (amanah (trustworthiness), ihsan (excellence), adil (justice), and tanggung jawab (responsibility)) into educator human resource management (HRM) in Islamic educational institutions. Existing HRM practices in these institutions remain fragmented and have not translated Islamic values into operational HRM mechanisms. Using a qualitative library research design and Jabareen’s (2009) conceptual analysis procedure, the study synthesizes normative-theological sources (the Qur’an and Hadith), scholarly literature on Islamic education management, and contemporary HRM frameworks. The findings demonstrate the model’s specific contributions: amanah transforms recruitment and selection through integrity-based screening; ihsan shapes professional development and performance appraisal through standards of excellence and reflective evaluation (muhasabah); adil informs proportional compensation and just appraisal; and tanggung jawab institutionalizes layered accountability across HR planning. The AIAT-HRM Model converts Islamic values from moral ideals into measurable HRM indicators, including transparent recruitment SOPs, 360-degree appraisal mechanisms, and syura-based planning protocols. Theoretically, this study advances value-based HRM by offering an integrative model that bridges Islamic ethics and functional HRM. Practically, it provides educational leaders with concrete steps to align recruitment, development, appraisal, and compensation with Islamic principles. Future research should empirically test the AIAT-HRM Model across pesantren, madrasah, and Islamic universities to assess its impact on educator performance and institutional effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of multicultural education, active campus participation, and challenges in implementing moderation and tolerance in higher education. In an increasingly diverse society, universities play a pivotal role in promoting religious moderation and tolerance among students. However, despite these efforts, various challenges hinder their successful implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews with faculty and students, along with observational data, to analyze the integration of multicultural education and its impact on students' attitudes towards tolerance. The research identifies three key findings: (1) multicultural education fosters religious moderation through both theoretical learning and practical experiences; (2) active participation in campus activities such as interfaith dialogues and cultural workshops enhances students' understanding and appreciation of diversity; (3) external factors like social media and initial student resistance pose significant challenges to the development of moderation. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on multicultural education in higher education and recommends that universities adopt more inclusive policies and encourage broader student involvement in multicultural activities. Future research should expand on these findings by examining the impact of media and external societal influences.

Abstract

Increasing competition among educational institutions requires schools to continuously improve the quality of their services and build a positive image of their institutions within the community. School image is an important factor influencing parents' perceptions in assessing the quality, reputation, and credibility of educational institutions, particularly in determining school choice for their children. This study aims to analyze the influence of parents' perceptions of school image in the decision-making process of choosing a school at SMP Islam Az Zahra Bandar Lampung. The method used is quantitative with an explanatory design through the distribution of questionnaires to parents as research respondents. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of the SmartPLS application. The results of the analysis show that parents' perceptions of school image have a significant influence on the decision-making process of choosing a school with a t-statistic value of 19.780 and a p-value of 0.000. In addition, the R-square value of 0.762 indicates that parents' perceptions of school image can explain 76.2% of the variation in parents' decisions in choosing a school. These findings confirm that a school's image, reflecting academic quality, institutional reputation, and the integration of Islamic values, plays a crucial role in shaping parental trust and preference for Islamic educational institutions. Therefore, schools are advised to continue strengthening their institutional image management by improving the quality of educational services and effective communication with parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Instagram social media management strategies as a creative medium to enhance the reach and image of SMA IT Al-Hikmah Bence Blitar. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that successful school branding through Instagram is supported by three main aspects: content planning that is integrated with school programs, collaborative implementation involving teachers, students, and the foundation’s media team, and routine evaluation based on Instagram Insight data. Instagram functions not only as a promotional tool but also as a collaborative space that strengthens student engagement, builds parental trust, and affirms the school’s Islamic identity. The study concludes that structured, collaborative, and consistent social media management can serve as a strategic instrument to strengthen the image and competitiveness of educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of Islamic school culture, the strategies of its internalization, and their effectiveness in addressing the moral challenges faced by Generation Z in the digital era. This research employed a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analyzed through an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that: (1) Islamic school culture is manifested through a Qur’anic vision, the integration of Islamic values into the curriculum, habituation of worship, teachers’ role modeling, and a consistently religious environment; (2) internalization strategies are implemented comprehensively through school leadership, value-based learning integration, Qur’anic achievement monitoring, the use of digital media, and active student participation in religious activities; (3) these strategies led to improvements in students’ discipline, responsibility, and religious awareness, as well as the creation of a conducive, bullying-free school climate and the reinforcement of Islamic practices in family environments. The findings highlight the importance of integrating digital innovation into Islamic education to enhance student engagement and ensure the relevance of value internalization in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines how principal leadership supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at Sambungmacan 1 Public Senior High School using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation framework. A qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and education staff. The CIPP model was applied to assess school readiness (context), resource and capacity support (input), the enactment of teaching and supervision (process), and observable outcomes such as teacher practices and student engagement (product). The findings suggest that the principal aligns school vision with curriculum principles (context), supports teacher capacity and learning facilities (input), guides implementation through supervision and collaborative practices (process), and is associated with increased student participation and a more collaborative school climate (product). Learning initiatives, including project-based activities and school-based programs, illustrate how curriculum principles are translated into practice, although variations in teacher readiness and resource use were still observed. Practically, the study suggests that principals may benefit from balancing vision-setting with sustained instructional support, strengthening teacher mentoring, and coordinating resources and partnerships to support implementation. For policymakers, the results may inform leadership development programs that integrate managerial and instructional competencies. This study is limited to a single school context with a small number of participants, so the findings are not intended to be generalized but may offer insight for similar settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of principal supervision as a strategic approach to enhancing teacher professionalism through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Despite extensive research on educational supervision, limited studies provide an integrated understanding of principal supervision, particularly in specific contexts such as Islamic educational institutions and schools in developing countries. The literature search was conducted using Publish or Perish with the Google Scholar database, resulting in 23 empirical articles published between 2021 and 2026 that met clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria, including relevance to principal supervision and teacher professionalism, empirical design, and accessibility of full-text articles. Data were analyzed using thematic synthesis to identify patterns and relationships across studies. The results reveal four main themes. 1) The forms and models of principal supervision include clinical, academic, collaborative, and distributive approaches. 2) Effective supervision is characterized by systematic and sustainable processes. 3) Supervision functions as a strategy for teacher professional development through coaching, mentoring, and reflection. 4) Principal supervision has a significant positive impact on teacher professionalism, including improvements in competence, performance, and instructional practices. These findings indicate that supervision implemented in a planned, continuous, and professional-oriented manner is more effective in promoting teacher reflection, innovation, and ongoing development. Practically, schools are encouraged to implement structured supervision programs that include regular classroom observation, collaborative feedback sessions, and follow-up coaching tailored to teachers’ needs. Thus, principal supervision can be positioned as a strategic and practical approach to support the continuous improvement of teacher professionalism.
